James brown! James Brown! James Brown! James Brown! Ladies and gentleman, A hardest working man in show buisiness, The godfather of soul , mr,james brown's wave is coming!!
Yes, better than the studio single ! This is buoyant whereas the single , as classic as it is, is not as danceable - just a little weighted down , for me.
E' stato un grandissimo personaggio, con un grande cuore; ha conosciuto la poverta' e la ricchezza del Signore.La sua musica e' gioia, allegria alla vita. Bisogna solo dirgli:Grazie James Brown.❤❤❤
Sorry, to disagree but it was Monterey and as I said I was there AND I got to meet him after the show as he was waiting for the car to take him to the airport.... the venue was at the Doubletree hotel convention center.... and I have the DVD (which says it was filmed in Monterey) which i bought for the very reason because i was there, i was twenty feet from the stage..and got to meet the man i idolized since i was a child.... i was still in high school... my mom bought the tickets for me and my friends... I had been going to his concerts since i was five.. it was the one and only time I actually met him... but I'll never forget exactly where it was...
Maybe not technically his best DVD but musically , it just might be! His singing is more melodious and that new "disco Soul " approach is perfectly realized . I like his 1967-69 and 1977-83 shows the best.

this concert was in Monterey, California not Santa Cruz... I was there, about 20 ft from the stage
Nope. It was Santa Cruz

The God Father of Soul...RIP ....JB...FROM RAIDER NATION...RN4L...
Long live king Ryan Charles Leonard Queen Kai lan and his friends
Who plays on trombone ? For me not Fred Wesley
Fred Wesley had moved on to Bootsy's Rubberband by then....along with Maceo Parker... St. Clair Pinckney was still in the band
Maceo and Fred joined Bootsy
Maybe a stupid request, but anyone have the lyrics for this performance?

I would agree but the period between the "Payback " and the "Hell" album were some of his best shows
