The thing I love about the OG highmark stadium is the endzone seats going like all the way down to the field level, you see the players jumping into the stands during TD celebrations all the time. It has an "up close and personal" intimate feel to it that a lot of other stadiums don't have. Yea highmark is extremely outdated, and it's pretty small for an NFL stadium but that's always sort of contributed to the tight knit, college style vibe to Bills home games. It seems like they're sort of going for the same sorta thing with the new stadium, with the seats extending all the way down to field level, hope you see the same sort of environment there with the players celebrating with the fans during TDs, etc.
Who knows? That part might still be up in the air. One thing about turf is that it doesn't get rock-hard in the cold and it's easier to clear snow. So they might change their minds on natural grass
@@joshuapowell2675the infrastructure required for each surface is totally different. They’d have to make the choice and stick with it early in the process.
A couple of things to point out here. The new stadium will end up costing between 2.3 and 2.5 billion upon completion. Also, they are going to a natural grass field, not artificial turf. With that being said, I thought the video was really good.
I was at the very first game at Rich (regular season that is). Bills beat Jets 9-7. OJ ran for 135 or so but more importantly didn’t kill anyone. Stadium held over 80000 then. Had blackout rules so a lot of games then weren’t sold out so had to listen to home games on radio. Major upgrade from War Memorial but was mediocre at best.

2 billion dollars and this will be considered like METLIFE stadium in a few yrs..Its PLAIN LOOKING, ugly, bed pan..For that money should have a dome..No we will be at a disadvantage more then anyteam because the weather..WHO APPROVED THIS?,
I'm glad that the owner of the Bills (Patrick Mahomes) is building them a new stadium. He's so generous he even allows them to win a game or two in the regular season.
I have one comment.....why did we as the citizens of New York State not be given a right to vote on spending this kind of outrageous money on a stadium that is already overbudget, under purposed and a contract that is unavailable to the public.....why we need Elon Musk!
I guessed you missed the part about local union labor and local supply production. Why am I surprised broke people don't understand how economics works?
We are getting a well deserved new stadium which is over 50 years old, weather its from other country's or w/e else its still mostly bills fans. So does it really matter where from or whos in it smh
It's now over $400 million over budget. So now try $2.1 Billion. Also it's not across the street from Erie Community College. They closed the South Campus and donated the county land to the Florida Billionaire.
@BrettL250 lol it's not my tax. I just point out where politicians have made education taxes and property taxes to give the money to a billionaire in Boca Raton Florida. But yes, it's e education tax and yes the Billionaire is getting the property, including half of a community college, to add to his personal wealth. But no, I don't pay that tax. I just point out the working people getting screwed by Billionaires. It's also, yes, very illegal to tax property for education and then hand the money and the property to an individual citizen in another State 1,800 miles away. And yes the whole project is over $400 million over budget and about to be much, much more than that. It's not my house that will be lost be in fact lots of inner city houses will in fact go to foreclosure. Sorry if facts, ya know, upset your little world bahahab

New stadium has NATURAL GRASS not turf
Confirmed?
I was coming here to come to the same thing. I've seen several times on the Google that it will be natural grass
Also heard natural grass and that it will have an underground heating system

The house that taxpayers built. I wish Josh paid some of his $48mil a year salary to help taxpayers pay for it.
Let's Go, Buffalo!
new stadium will have natural grass as reported both by local media & the team it self
I can tell who's from Buffalo and who isnt in the comments 😂😂😂
Lets go Bills !!!!
Not correct on the turf unless the plans changed. They promised a real grass field.
Wouldn't be surprised as many stadiums want to change to grass for the (soccer) World Cup as its a requirement for a stadium to be chosen.
should have put a retracktable roof most people dont like to freeze and you can hold more events there
It’s up to 2.1 billion now.
LET'S GO BUFFALO!!
50% taxpayer funded this should never happen on the back of the taxpayers wtf same on our Governor of New York
LETS GO BUFFALO FEED THE PT !!!!
So they take out seats and make fans pay more to stand. So on-brand for the NFL.
people stand a majority of the game anyways, it doesnt matter

Natural Grass not getting turf lol
Just hoping theres a little more space in the seats, my brother and I are not big people and we were shoulder to shoulder
