I actually think they'd just made the speed of 1.25 or so. Cuz if you look at the BBC Radio 1 interview, you'll see he's talking with those long pauses, choosing every syllable
don't get used to it. The tour's just starting. This is him while he's still get the energy and enthusiasm for press.

Compare this interview to any from 2013-2014, he really seems like himself here and isn't putting on any added nonsense or attitude. Just my opinion

I think this album is hypnotizing, You have to give it a chance,like Alex said in another interview ''You have to listen it at least 10 times to start loving it'' For me he still is the same guy that was singing about dancing little liars and Scummy men,he is really honest in this album it is something new something fresh that no one ever have done before, they Don't care if You dont like it or if it isn't commercial material,I feel like Alex finally grew up and now he is sure about his decisions and don't have to be a poser anymore,I mean even the style of sunglasses changed ,Remember when he used to wear sunglasses indoors,leather jacket and almost all the time we weren't be able to see his eyes? Now we can see them,now we can see him. Good for You Alex!!

At first not a fan of the album, then I started imagining playing those songs live and visualizing the detail Alex puts in the lyrics, made me like the album much much more.
It's not an album you can easily play around people but a more personal experience.
I highly recommend listening to it with headphones. Higher volume preferred.

I feel like Alex isn't so full of himself anymore. He's more down to earth.
I think it was always a bit of a front to fit with his music but now he can be his usual self in interviews.

I'll be honest, I hope the album grows on me.
I've given it a few listens, and all I can think is, "this doesn't sound like the arctic monkeys". It's more like vocal jazz meets Last Shadow Puppets. There isn't one song on the album that really hooks me, or that even sounds like it could be a single. It feels like a poetry reading with Alex Turner over-pronouncing the words in a bunch of clever, but ultimately incoherent sentences - with a backdrop of elevator music to give it a rhythm.
This comment is so spot on. I've only given it one full listen so far, but I feel the same way. I'm a fan of more in-depth, lyric centered songs but when there's so many lyrics spilling out without any real refrains or hooks to keep the listener focused, it becomes, as you said, incoherent. I hope it grows on me too.

actually, i'm so proud of him. he's my source of energy, when i'm think 'bout him, the empty in my soul disappears and full up of life. and i have to admit, if his songs don't exist, i will feel myself so much worstly.

I really don't care about Arctic Monkeys, i don't really enjoy all the other stuff though i've listened to it all even b-sides becouse i used to be a fan. But honestly i think this is the best album they released so far. It's musically mature, full of subtleties and details, arrangements, instrumentally amazing. I really expected less from them, i though it was just going to be another Arctic Monkeys album just with a vintage sound, but they surprised me!
I didn't. There were some funny lines and clever ones too but it was dragging and became boring. It made for good background noise. Shame as I really liked AM it's one of my favourite albums.
It's literally called TRANQUILITY base, did you expect another "indie rock" "easy, simple and catchy" fast paced album?

Have you thought that maybe the point with this one wasn’t to have singles? There’s probably a reason why they didn’t release any singles.
I'm sure at this point everyone and their dog know this, but "scrambled eggs" were the original lyrics to Yesterday. McCartney wasn't sure the melody hadn't been done before so he used scrambled eggs as a placeholder.

Wow! Not inebriated at all. That's a first. I was getting a little concerned for his health. That brain is quite precious. Hope he cuts down on booze and drugs and TAKE IT EASY FOR A LITTLE WHILE! Anyway I found the new album to be alright and has a feeling it'll start to grow on people after a while

I hope. I have seen so much hate for it and I don’t really think it’s deserved. I’m not afraid to call something bad, but I really personally don’t think this is bad at all. I actually like it a lot more than AM. AM was just a bit too repetitive.
The irony is that he is interviewed by Apple music and the whole album was recorded fully analogue, on a Revox A77 reel to reel tape machine

I didn't even recognize Alex's voice in the beginning, it sounded so high pitched. But then I realized, it's just intonation - like, he doesn't sound apathetic and miserable like the old days LOL he's changed quite a bit! I'm stunned! Hardly recognize the guy ahahaha!

Hopefully this album grows on me, the first listen was tough
Yeah, on/after my first listen I was pretty scared it's not my taste either. But honestly it grew on me with every listen and when I listened to it with lyrics (i couldnt get everything just listening) it honestly blew my mind. I think it's their best album, I stopped listening to it for a bit to try AM and it seemed kind of bland compared to TBH&C. But I do realise it's not for everyone though so I just hope you'll grow to enjoy it as much as I do :)

I like the album. I do. But I feel like it could’ve been a Alex turner solo album or even a TLSP album. I get they’ll never sound the same, but it’s a huge difference. I need more out of the other band members. Lyrically it’s great but you can’t sit there and say they were stoked to make this album

To me it seems as though he was shy when giving interviews before. Maybe he was afraid that he was not going to live up to the songs, that people or media will not find him interesting enough. Now he is more comfortable in his own skin. Or he just doesn't care anymore... well he made "Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino" so....
He's lost the American accent since Liam Gallagher made a dig. Seems like it put some sense back into Alex.
As an American, I have no idea why Brits thought his accent sounded anything remotely like an American accent. He may have lost his Yorkshire twang, but his accent was far from anything American sounding.

Here's the thing goes, I don't think that that accent was put on by any means. Some of us are just superb blending in and it happens unconsciously, and extremely quickly as well. Some people just have this natural ability. After a month-and-a-half in the UK I came back with a definite British lilt to my voice. I mean I of course would prefer him to not sound American, but faulting him for sounding that way when he lives in LA, and has an American gf is really not fair.

It almost seems like it's at 1.25x bc lack of pausing. You can see how people develop a loose, "script" for interviews. Same questions. Great interview, would love to see the other 48mins though.

What gets me hooked to a song is a catchy hook obviously and the lyrics, and i feel like in this album there is a lack of catchy hooks, and it makes me feel like alex couldn’t find a way to make a rhythm out of his lyrics
Battleborn oh I completely agree that he is great, and i still love his lyrics, but i just gave my opinion on the hooks, that’s necessary for me
