    Thank you for letting people know how to take of their knives. I learned from my dad how to clean and sharpen it when he gave my first Barlow style knife.

    The 'WD' in WD-40 stands for water displacement.

    I remember taking showers with our rifles in Marine Corps boot camp after RFTD. Same kinda deal.

    Man! I can’t wait to lay my hands on a flamed Praetorian!
    I’ll probably rent an office just to take it apart every couple of days!😁

    I am newer to your knives. I just recently picked up a S90V 187DP DLC Trading exclusive that came in the S3 case (I believe it was). Anyway, I LOOOVE the knife, I am still getting it broken in as it was brand new unused and I have only had it for 4 days. My question though is what model knife are you showing in the video? I really like the looks of it. Sorry for the long winded question. I am just so blown away by my 187DP, I have a feeling there will be MANY more Medford blades to come!!!

      I recommend a fixed blade. Have you seen the fighter knife by medford. That thing looks outstanding and I'm really planning on buying one. Although a kydex Sheath is preferable due to the long lasting quality

    Thanks for the tips , but Palmolive is a oil and grease cutter for greasy pots and pans , so it most likely removed the oil from the bearings/washers /pivot when you ran hot water through it 🤷🏻‍♂️, I would still put a couple drops of oil on the pivot

    • @fredp1983
      @fredp1983 11 месяцев назад

      fair enough... but he didnt exactly scrub palmolive into the pivots... it was more like a quick rinse... so id say not all the oil is removed

    Man skills... yet the warranty is void if you take your knife apart to clean and lube it properly. I own a Micro Praetorian Ti, and love it, but the no disassembly rule is garbage. Anyone that spends $500+ on a knife, knows how to properly disassemble and reassemble a frame lock.

    FYI: WD40 is great & a quick Stainless Steel Fridge door cleaner & excellent ‘SLIGHT SCRATCH’ remover! Awesome video, as usual🇺🇸

    Im assuming this is a bad idea to do with the praetorian slim because of its bearings. Am I wrong?

    Mineral oil is better so you can use it on food. It is not a water displacment solution, but hopefully you dried it with that compressor.

    Wd40 isn't really a lubricant though.. thats the only thing I'd change especially for the care list for high end. But that's just me love the vids though awesome job for sure some people are so afraid of cleaning or hurting a metal knife..

    Would canned air work?

      Yeap. Its quick and easy . On oil ,i like lps . No stress, no strain.

    • @KapnCrunk
      @KapnCrunk 4 года назад +2

      No, canned air contains micro particles of nitrogen and oxygen that will eat through your blades coating.

    Wait, I don’t have to buy aerospace rated tools and a microscope to spend an hour taking it apart to clean? Soap, water, compressed air and WD40? That does NOT pander to the modern collector 😂😂😂😂

    I WOULD PAY EXTRA FOR PERMISSION TO DISASSEMBLE THE KNIFE AND CLEAN IT WITHOUT VOIDING THE WARRANTY… I’m heart broken, my man…..

  • @Anonymous-is1iv

    Or- Now, here me out… or-
    Let your customers disassemble their tool and properly clean the 💩 out of it without voiding the warranty? I’m sorry but the warranty thing bugs me so much, I buy $1,000 dollar knives like I order an extra slider when I go to iHop.. you know what I always do? Make sure I can disassemble the tool and help keep it clean and functional without voiding warranties… idc about the cost, I buy a new knife every time I scratch one, I can’t stand b/s warranties… idc about the Medford drama that happened years ago- I don’t care… I do care about insane warranty voids… I almost bought like a $1,200 custom Medford handmade but I just heard about the warranty and found out the truth… and the fact this is your advice for how to manage the knife without disassembly is insane, we are not princesses, I don’t need to sponge my fully assembled knife like I work in the kitchen.. dude… I’m pissed because I really wanted this knife and now the garden has gone sour…
