I think it's funny how purists are saying this track absolutely needs to remain in the calendar while also complaining the race is boring as hell. We all know the cars are the problem, but there's no way cars will ever be as small as they used to be. 2026 cars will still be huge in comparison.
Just make it a weekend for all the historic F1 cars. That was highly entertaining. Modern F1 has outgrown the circuit and will never work there plain and simple.
How Verstappen was unable to overtake Russel at the end with far newer tires and a considerably better car is ridiculous. Something needs to change about this circuit. Also Sauber seems to be just giving up and waiting for Audi at this point. I feel so bad for Bottas and Zhou. They are both fighting for their seats right now, and their cars are just absolute rubbish.
Races can take different forms. Those who do not understand that fact are illiterate on how racing works with different tracks. You do not care for how Monaco works? Do not attend. Do not watch.
@@stephencurry8552 Don't speak like a troll. I would've said "this circuit needs to go" if I didn't like Monaco. Monaco has always been a great circuit, but it's clear that F1 needs to do something to make it not boring to watch. And it's also not like nothing can be done. Roads being narrow isn't the only reason why Verstappen couldn't overtake Russell. At the very least strategy would have been a thing if there was a meaningful difference between medium and hard after 70 laps.
@@type-ke7921 There were a bunch of boring races last year that weren't named Monaco. This year as well. This is nothing new if you've been watching f1 for a while. But keep whining and coping.
@@type-ke7921 First of all, I was not speaking, I wrote. You wanting to rephrase your origional post is weak. So not watch the race. The result would be, your ire would remain calm. Toodles.
I think we should consider the fact that Russell was also quite good, overtakes did take place on the circuit (especially with the backmarkers) but just not to the extent that would fall under the ambits of a normal race. Plus, keep in mind that Max was pincered between Hamilton and George. They seemed to have deployed a strategy of nursing the medium tyres until they could hit the gas and push like hell. And from a purely defensive point of view it worked quite well, albeit it didn’t give enough space for Russell to attack Norris.
2005 had no tire changes at all in any race. Monaco is the one race that isn't for racing in the current era. Monaco is the throwback to the glitz and glamour of the old days. It's about the entire weekend extravaganza. It's also the one race where millions of dollars of deals and sponsorship get decided. It isn't the most exciting race (unless it pours) but it's earned it's right to remain on the calendar a thousand times over.
What about making it a rule that at Monaco, you have to use all the tires: hard, medium and soft. This means at least two mandatory pit stops. Also, if possible, reduce the amount of laps so that the show fits in well with TV schedules.
The grand prix was so boring I forgot that Piastri has damage and reduced downforce. Maybe because it didn’t matter. All these drivers had to so was not hit the wall. No other driver skill or engineering achievement was needed for Sunday.
No, if there’s a car alongside you can’t just drive towards the wall and expect them to disappear. Unnecessarily tight by Magnussen, but just as unnecessary “defending” by Perez.
The worst race I’ve seen, the red flag period was as eventful as the remaining 70 laps. The rules around red flags and mandatory pit stops need some finessing, but maybe it’s just a Monaco specific problem.
some thing to think about the race was redflaged on lap 1 so was reset to a new race start(There used to be a rule that said if a red flag occurred in the first two laps of a race, the race would essentially be restarted from original grid positions under the original distance.) what happened to pitstop window ? Tire compound regulations in Formula 1 dictate that all drivers must use a minimum of two compound types per race in dry weather
I didn't have high hopes for an exciting race but hoped at least pitstop strategies would make it a bit interesting. The red flag took that away from us right away. I hardly ever call a race boring as usually in the midfield and back enough is happening... but this was boring,

Oh for fuck sake… Hate on KMag baffles me. Hes driving like most drivers should and have been in the past. Yes some of his moves are questionable but hes doing what a lot of fans are asking for. Agressive driving that makes things exciting. And he most certainly should have been in the spot where he was against Perez. If you no longer go for a gap that exists you no longer a racing driver Agree with all the other points
Monaco needs to be a mandatory 2 stop to make it interesting at all. But in reality F1 needs smaller and lighter cars again. You can hardly race these cars on the best tracks never mind Monaco.
@@ToolishBoxyeah but those aren't really getting smaller because of safety, at least.. not enough to be nimble for 2026. Wish they could widen and extend the track a bit in some way.
Once I noticed your absolute refusal to ever use the word "him" in favor of "the driver" or "the [x] driver" over and over again, l can't unhear it and it's starting to drive me nuts
Congrats on Leclerc's win but Perez's onboard camera clearly show's Perez turning to the right to avoid Hulkenberg, who was actually futher back and right into K Mag! This was ALL CHECO'S FAULT!
Races can take different forms. Those who do not understand that fact are illiterate on how racing works with different tracks. You do not care for how Monaco works? Do not attend. Do not watch. Awesome win for Leclerc.
No race just a 78 lap parade lap
Sponsor parade 😂
That's why they need to make the car smaller, like Formula E.
Or just bin Monaco now that Charles has won.
Good
Therefore the Quali has always been the most exciting one of the entire season.
Boring race, but the tears of joy in the eyes of LeClerc were worth watching. Ferrari and McLaren on the first 4 places was also cool.
I think it's funny how purists are saying this track absolutely needs to remain in the calendar while also complaining the race is boring as hell. We all know the cars are the problem, but there's no way cars will ever be as small as they used to be. 2026 cars will still be huge in comparison.
Purists: "Make Monaco Great Again - build that racecar shrink ray!"
just remove the race. have a special qualifying session and that determines the points. quali is the best part and totally determinant anyway.
They are probably different set of purists? Just watch the FPs and Qualy and you are good, don’t need to whine about it.
I like Monaco besides the fact that the race is boring in terms of action
Monaco should be just qualifying amd time trials. Let's stop treating this as a Grand Prix
piastri best Rookie since max
Since Leclerc*
In a race without pit stops there was no way for Ferrari to lose
Let's just pair Kmag and Ocon on the same team. Call it Red Flag F1
Lol, FP1Will would have a field day 👍🤣
Just make it a weekend for all the historic F1 cars. That was highly entertaining. Modern F1 has outgrown the circuit and will never work there plain and simple.
Congratulations Charles. Like it or not the last 30 laps of the Indy 500 was exciting.
Should've been a black box for Magnussen.
Procession as every year. They drove 4 seconds of the pace without overtake possibilities which is even more embarrassing.

Leclerc winning in Monaco is the best thing that happend in this season

No, if there’s a car alongside you can’t just drive towards the wall and expect them to disappear. Unnecessarily tight by Magnussen, but just as unnecessary “defending” by Perez.
That was my initial reaction as well, but if you look at the onboard replays it is clear Perez is not without blame.

Alexander Albon is an awesome racer. With the right car he can win the title.
Another red box for the Monaco circuit. There must be loads of other circuits where we could get more than 0% entertainment.
If Magnussen wasn't on 10, but on 8 points, they would've given him thr blame
Agreed. I think Magnussen will continue getting away with incidents because the FIA don’t want to ban a driver
This was probably the most boring race in the last 40 years… Congrats to Charles however.
Every Monaco GP is a bore-fest. For god's sake, get it off the calendar.

Just for hometown winners, how about reverse the order of anthems (first team's anthem, then the driver's)!
Happy for Leclerc, but other than that this race was completely forgettable. I hate street circuits
You shouldn’t blame street circuits in general, Monaco just has its limitations which means it can’t provide good racing in f1
Street circuits are awful and tedious. @levenix
Sainz had a better start and was ahead going into the first turn, how was that desperate?
Third race in a fow, were RB doesn't seems to be far in front.
Love your videos
Scrap time management Monaco. The leader was impending Logan Sargent. WTF
No red or black box for Perez? He is a big shame for himself in qually
I know we're used to RBR winning and all, but a red flag for 6th is a bit harsh, don't you think?
I think it's 6th and not really that close to the top 4.. I expect more from that team and I think they would expect more from themselves!
Crazy that there was only Hamilton between Tsunoda and Verstappen by the end of this race! 👀
Yes, plus one whole lap…
Redbull won’t win next year and at this rate teams are catching up to them.
Idk if its redbulls decision or fault but their car is famous for being extremely sensitive so it tends to have bigger fall offs
Was a great race for us ferrari fans, and probably mclaren ones.
Look forward to the whining and complaining this week.
Time to move on from Monaco. It’s had its time, it’s just not suitable for modern cars. A waste of a weekends potential racing.
its time to get rid of this place of the season ... it should never have been here... its a procession not a race ...well done Le Clerc
This track needs to be retired asap! Nobody wants to watch a parade... too many street circuits in F1

Unfortunate that Perez got shunted by K-Mag, with the latter itching for a race ban at this rate.
No further action LOOL
