New SEs are amazing. Got myself a Paul’s guitar SE. had to change the toggle switch, but other than that it’s just fantastic. I had the frets polished though, don’t believe all the reviews that say that fretwork is impeccable. Maybe on the guitar they receive directly from PRS it is. Still a freaking awesome instrument at that pricepoint

The new dgt se as just a guitar regardless of the brand for under 1k IS the greatest production SE and "mid-priced guitar" out right now that I can think of. Theres no comparisom between this SE and say signature SE models that came out 10- 15 years ago when they were at their peak of their artost endorsements and everyone including orianthi and janes addictions guitar player had one lol. ^ Aside from the guitar he put through the paces here - does anyone know what SONG this is from the jam he's ripping on here ?? Is this from any of his albums or just a random improv jam ? Curious if someone knows the name of this tune their rhythm feel and pocket is phenomenal all around. It wouldnt surprise me at all if this was just an off the cuff jam one night as Grissom is a maestro when it comes to playing live in the hot seat and pulling out whatever he can! 🙏🤟
I just received my DGT SE this week, and I love the pickups! I’ve got a couple LPs, a Gretsch, a mid-60’s 335 and numerous single-coil models. These may be my favorite pickups of them all. Lots of usable tones with the circuit provided. Not just the usual ‘turn it down and lose the top end’ routine. So far, have played through Marshall DSL 20, Fender Hot Rod Dlx, and Epiphone Valve Jr with a couple of drive pedals on the Epi.
Sad to see Dave endorse a compromised version of his original guitar. Yes Dave could make a bagel sound great. Did anybody see another review in which the guy had to adjust the action and intonation before the guitar was playable?
That’s a stupid take…most guitars that are shipped have to have some set up done to them. I’ve seen high end PRS guitars that needed a tweak after they shipped through multiple climates.
