Even after a couple of dozen listens this STILL ticks all the boxes for me- from the rambling intro to the great licks while he’s singing and the fab soloing - Go Dave!
The guy just gets and controls perfect sustain and harmonics out of that instrument at every turn during every part. Masterful. Quintessential electric guitar.
You Don't Love Me! Grissom is a big Allman fan.... in another version, he plays a few lines that Duane played during the studio recording from the 1971 A&R Music Studios in NYC.... Soul Serenade!
@@briantowns4482 .. I had to do a search on his name.. Hey! No offense to Glenn F. , but I thought you made it up..Yikes! Excellent job on the bass, though.!👍🏼
I'm not a drummer. This is a Storyville song. Here is a live performance by Storyville and at least the beginning of the drum line seems the same. I think it's a great song and David is one of the best. ruclips.net/video/KSi_OgqT16g/видео.html
@@richarddalbis3323 good luck with that Rich! i've played with some drummers who'll politely listen to the suggestion, and even apologize for excessive cymbal crashes, then in the heat of the song their eyes glaze over, and it's raining steel all over again.

David is a hell of a player and awesome composer, but he should never be allowed on a hot mic. That’s Malford’s job.
Another excellent musician that I am delighted to have discovered.
An excellent model.
Thanks David

One of my fav tracks. Never gets old to listen to, cranked up loud of course!
I bought a CD of this gentleman quite awhile back. It’s time to re-visit him again. Great playing and vibe David.
Duane nod at the beginning. Nice.
Love this.
Great player! Great band! 👍🎸
Tuesday night playing for tips. Get to it
At 2:30.. David borrows a great little lick from the Allman’s.. Whipping Post, maybe.? But hey! He played with them,so why not.? 👍🏼❤️

@@joeurbanowski321 You know what is weird? I had a feeling you would not believe that was his name.
Is that Bert Jansch on guitar?
No, it's David Grissom
@@briantowns4482 I was being facetious, idiot.
Jan Kafka Don’t be a dick. The world has plenty already.
Reminds me of Eric Johnson.

Drummer is hitting crash cymbals waaaay too much and doesn't know where to place them when he does. Very frustrating.

i agree about the excessive cymbals. the best way to cure that is take some of them off the kit.
@@saggacc NOT necessarily. They'll just over use one cymbal (if that is all they have). NO one has told him how bad it is and explain why.

@@saggacc You're indeed a very observant musician.
