Just got mine. Highly recommended for anyone who has this engine. Feels like I'm driving a new car. Just replaced the side and rear engine mounts. Parts alone, close to $800. Not doing that again. Easy to understand video. ✌🏾
@Rolando Hurtado I've had it for over a year and a half with no issues. I can't remember where it shipped from, but it was pretty quick with detailed instructions. Maybe 15 minutes to put in. Depending on how easy it is to reach your connections.
I have 150,000 miles just installed the tuner 2 and it runs like a new car, I had a lot of hesitation when gears would change especially 1-2 and and I’m sure my engine mounts are wearing heavily due to that. Seems to have more power due to using all cylinders all the time and not hesitating deciding which gear it should be in. Much smoother and shifting way better. Had a lot of oil consumption, will have to wait to see how much it has improved. But boy what a difference I notice in smooth acceleration and shifting.
Update: my shudder was due to needing a transmission oil change3x, shudder returned after vcm, tested several times. For lower the consumption of oil for sure.
Great video!! Thank you! I installed this Saturday morning and it makes my Crosstour so much nicer to drive. Thanks! I have a 2011 and couldn't stand the ECO mode shudder & shake.
Wish I saw this video 4 years ago when I bought my 2010. I installed the VCM Tuner II 5 months ago. I was tired of the shaking car and consuming oil. I first noticed my issue last year when I went to do an oil change and only had 2 qts of oil empty from the van. Last night was the first oil change since the tuner was installed. I was happy to drain 4.1 qts. I wish I had installed it sooner. My 2010 had 186,000 miles on it when I installed it. I wish I new about this earlier before I bought the van a few years ago but if $120 buys me another year with the van then it’s money we’ll spent.
So buying a high mileage Honda do you think the VCM damage has been done long term or has your VCM fixed all perceived issues? I’m looking at similar mileage…curios if damage has been baked in.
@@cowlumbus , My van is no longer consuming oil like it had in the past and no longer shuddering as I drive. My wife is also a fan of how it isn’t shaking anymore as it switches cylinders on/off. I justify the cost especially now since vehicle prices are up and if this prevents and engine failure causing me to buy a replacement car then it will have been worth it. I paid $135 which isn’t bad. Some people pay that between 3 oil changes. This $135 keeps me from having to get my funnel and oil out constantly each month. The constant shaking is gone which I feared the engine mounts would go which cost a lot. Yes I am sure damage has been done, but for $135 this prevents more damage that would require a high cost repair. It should also cut down on my spark plug replacement.
Nice video. Mine is on order now. Just wanted to tell other owners that have Honda's with similar engines to check the Air Intake Hose as it has cracks due to VCM high temperatures. I changed mine yesterday, the RPMs are solid now, no more flickering and dancing on the dashboard. An easy $20 fix (short term) along with the VCM disabling (long term). 2011 Honda Odyssey with around $130K miles.
I have a 2008 Odyssey Touring with 250-K miles. Love this vehicle but I have had issues. I maintain it well but I had VCM and oil leaks fixed, camshafts replaced due to engine Noise and oil consumption. I had timing belt and water pump/tensioner done in the past. Spark plugs repl and a coil pack. My last dealer repair was for oil Leaks but the never mentioned the option of a VCM shut off probably because it’s aftermarket. Sucks because I’m friends with the service manager, nice friend huh? They quoted me over $4000 to replace the rear of engine cat near firewall so I did it myself for $250 and a few hours labor , top bolt drivers side was a real mofo. I try to service it regularly but when dealing with this dealership they don’t search your service history and make proper recommendations and I feel like I have to overlook their recommendations and make my own as far as what needs to be done. I like to do my own work but I have my limitations. My last repair at dealer was a valve lash adjustment and spark plug change to correct an intermittent #5 misfire and check eng light. The light stayed off for a couple days then came back. I got another cyl 5 misfire and replaced the coil Pack myself and it has been out since and running fine. I have had oil consumption issues since day one and now after seeing this video I can see why the dealer never mentioned it. I worked at a Mercedes’ dealer as a tech and I know anything aftermarket makes them feel like you raped their mother and they won’t touch the car with a ten foot pole. I’d love to do this VCM delete but I don’t want to do it unless I know it’s not gonna cause catalytic converters issues and O2 sensor issues, overheating or egr issues. Can anyone answer this? Also one big upgrade I had to do is install some aftermarket front pads and rotors cause the factory brakes seem way undersized for this vehicle and it would not stop for crap. I installed the EBC YELLOW stuff pads and rotors and this thing stop ten times better now but the brakes do wear fast cause they’re softer but I’d rather replace them more often that not have brakes and warped rotors from the heat. I love this van and I keep it looking new, everyone even the techs always comment on how new my van looks. I want to keep this baby top notch for my wife to drive cause she absolutely Loves this thing but this darn VCM seems to be its biggest drawback and I’m tired of the oil consumption every 1000 miles. I just don’t want to do it if it will kill my cats.
Great video.....I have a 2010 Odyssey with 94K. No vibration or oil issues yet, but plugs were done at 68K. I have this ordered and the install looks way easy. Thanks!!!!
This thing rocks! Such a nicer drive on my 15 Ody now. Gets rid of the judder and shifts are smoother. Now the engine runs like a normal v6 the way an engine is suppose to run.
@@freedompioneer4311 just went on a 2,000 mi round trip vaca a week ago and the best I was getting was 24mpg. Before installing I was getting 27mpg. So yeah I lost some mpg. This is on a 2015 Ody mini van.
I just installed the S-VCM on my 2011 Honda Odyssey (75,930 mi.) this morning and then took it for a test drive. The engine seems to be running smoother and I can tell there is more power there when going from just cruising to accelerating. I paid $95.00 plus $11.00 shipping for this item and I was a bit disappointed when I got it. It is quite small and there isn't much to it. It comes with detailed installation instructions which insist you must follow in strict order. When I did that I found that after using the tiny zip ties provided I could not connect the S-VCM to the sensor because it wasn't long enough. I had to cut the ties, connect to the sensor, and then use my own zip ties (recommended) to secure the electrical harnesses.
My Odyssey had so many misfire codes and screwed up plugs we replaced the engine because our mechanic was convinced our piston rings were screwed...putting one of these on the new engine asap. This probably could've have saved me tons
I’m glad I ran by this I have a low mileage 08 and kinda noticed that shake not a constant but rather than play roulette I just ordered my tuner 2 I want his car to last awhile good vid 👍🏻
Thank you for this video.. My 2010 pilot just started AGAIN misfiring.. I swear every year I gotta put new plugs.. I really hope this will fix it.. And the tuner you installed looks oem which is nice.. But what is the green and blue wire for?.. Nvm. Went thru the comments and found it.. Thanks again
Thanks for this video. I've been thinking of doing this to my 2013 oddy. So far I don't have any VCM issues after 160K miles as I do a lot of stop and go city driving and ECO mode barely engages. However, I am still considering doing this.
unfortunately i never knew about this issue until our 2012 odyssey started running rough, with only 89k miles. after taking it to honda, we were hit with a nearly $5,000 repair bill. the vcm had worn the pistons rings and oil was fouling the spark plugs. we had no choice but to get it fixed. i ordered this part and it makes the van run better..but i will not be buying another honda product, unless i find a super good deal that i cant pass on.
I have a 2021 passport and I don't ever feel it ,I also own a eco boost f150 which were supposed to be notorious for carbon build up and issues with idling and water contamination in the oil they are catch cans and gimmicky stuff to fix it of which I never bought and it runs great still with 180,000 miles on it, I'm meticulous about maintenence and run full synthetic and good gas I think I trust the engineers and the current vcm3 more than people making these things and selling them .
Literally just posted my car for sale two days ago because my engine misfire is really bad. Been having to change the spark plugs every few months since I bought the car 5 years ago. I changed the spark plugs yesterday morning, drove 20 miles on the highway to work and the car started misfiring as soon as I got off the highway. From experience and also reading a few Honda forums it seems like spark plug #3 seems to get oil fouled and covered the most. Took the car off Craigslist last night and bought the s-vcm. Hoping this will fix the issue.
@@tonpear5909 it actually might. I read about couple ppl that’ve had this same issue & they installed the s-vcm & changed all spark plus (1 person had to replace gaskets to fix oil leak as well) & they’ve been driving for over a year with no issues ever since
Question: The VCM Tunner is recommended for those people who drove a lot in highway? I drive mostly in city and trying to start a little bit off-road in my Pilot… My 3.5 had 99k miles and I drove peer year 1k miles at max, and maybe for roadtrips on highways on this vehicle why travel like anothers 1k miles every 2 years, so compared to another friends with same vehicle don’t know if I need it… My Honda, doesn’t vibrates and didn’t find any oil issue, so, I don’t know if I need to install it anyways cuz mostly in traffic city doesn’t appear the “Eco” mode like on highway when the family do some occasional road trips (usually two peer year on this vehicle of 40miles contemplated at the 1k peer year. That’s the reason I think I didn’t think we now don’t travel a lot) Thanks for your video and the info! I didn’t know much about this stuff, honestly I miss my 2008 Pilot, I think it was more “eternally” haha Greetings from Mexico!
*When unplugging the sensor is the release facing you or facing away from you? I am planning on installing this device on my Mom's 2015 Honda Odyssey and everything seems pretty simple except I am worried about breaking that damn sensor.*
Done this a year ago but I fear its too late. I have a 2010 PILOT EX bought it with 155k miles on it it has 190k miles now. Never had good gas mileage, I average 14mpg in city 18-19 on highway. Right after I bought it I kept getting check engine light a full month before scheduled oil change. Every time it was always just low on oil, quart or more. Then after year or more had to replace 1 bad cat and o2 sensor, problems persisted crazy misfires. Dropped it off to a Honda dealer they changed spark plugs, fuel rail, and the air intake hose. None of which solve any issue they kept car 1 month charged near $1200and couldn't figure it out. I told them stop work I went picked it up took to a engine shop. This shop changed EGR valve cleaned EGR ports and PVC Valve. I still burn oil. Not as much as before about a quart low when i go get oil changes. I sill get an O2 sensor light occasionally.
i am just starting to have the shutter when ECO light is on and cruising, 2015 Pilot awd, thought it was a driveline issue. 163k miles, no oil leaks or unusual usage...do you think this S-VCM will fix the shutter and not hurt the engine?? ty
My experience when I installed the S-VCM suppressor on my 2012 5AT V6 Accord Coupe was the following: •Smoother Acceleration both from a standstill and mid drive •Overall car felt more powerful, particularly from 1500-3000 rpm, especially on 89 octane (but no notable difference on 91) •Faster Power when downshifting •Reduced need to downshift as 5th gear is more powerful on light throttle •Louder on light and mid throttle (VCM Suppressor disables active noise cancellation) •Better engine braking •No Change in MPG, maybe a slight increase •Decreased Oil consumption •*Reduced risk of "premature failure of parts like spark plugs, catalytic converters, engine mounts, pistons/rings, and cylinder walls"* Only issue I had was when it was hot out or if the device got jostled; it wouldn't disable VCM then. I did regret buying it because I ended up buying a Ktuner to tune my car, and you can disable it through there, so I wasted ~$150, but if you're not planning on tuning your car, it's well worth it.
@@theSPEEDYdoggamer It's been a minute since I've used their interface (haven't owned the J35 in a year), but there should be a menu where you can check or uncheck boxes which will automatically make certain changes, and disable VCM is one of them if your car has VCM. I just watched a Ktuner Vid, and I think it's somewhere under/within the "main preferences tab". Should be a box you check/uncheck
I just installed a VCM Tuner II on my 2014 Odyssey. Any easy way to run a couple of 14G wires, through an existing hole, in the firewall, to the dash? This for the on off toggle and low coolant level alarm. Thanks.
We just had our 2012 Crosstour towed to the Wilmington NC Honda for repair. Too late to be covered by the Extended Warranty that Honda issued as that was for 8 yrs or 100,000 miles. Our Crosstour has 78041 miles. Cost to repair $3895.56. Cylinder 2 is the worst. Need to put new rings in Cylinders 1,2 and 3. New plugs. New Gasket and have to drop the oil pan. So new oil needed also. Have always, always run full synthetic. Hoping this will eradicate any future problem due to the damn VCM. Will it? Small price to pay compared to the reair bill we are now facing.
Thank you! Great question by the way..I have confirmed that the cooling fans are still fully operational after installing the vcm tuner and no overheating issues at all! Thanks for the comment!
Great video, thanks. Question,... I have a P3497 code for VPS Stuck off Bank 2. The VTM-4 comes on after about 10 minutes of driving. Some Cylinders become de-active and I have to drive in Limp Mode.. I've done everything under the sun (changed oil, changed VVT solenoid, change spark plugs etc) to try and fix this except take it to the dealer where those wolves will be ready to attack me with a bill for half a mil just for plugging in their OBD. Anyway I can erase the code myself. Do you think that if I do this VCM Eco delete method that the Check Engine will clear for good?
My 2011 Odyssey has 74,000 miles. Suddenly it started running rough and power was greatly reduced. Idled too high, about 1300 rpm. It may have been stuck in eco mode. Disconnected both oil pressure transmitters, one on each head. Runs great but engine light is on. But at least it runs good.
On a 2021 Pilot AWD with the VCM disabled using this product, should you or can you still use the ECON mode? I see a lot of people saying the ECON mode was disabled but on my 2021 Pilot AWD the ECON mode is enabled by choice by pushing the green button. Thanks!

Do you know if the 2013 Accord coupe V6 if it would have an Eco light on it? Cuz mine doesn't ever have one on? I'm wondering if maybe this car was already tuned and it removed it's use somehow.
My 2013 accord coupe V6 automatic trans engine was replaced with 59,210 car was taken care of oil changes etc , Had a knock and barrings 2-4 had slight damage and do to cost Honda said engine needed to be replaced . Engine was replaced with a accord cross tour 3.5 engine with 28k on it . I haven’t noticed any issues so should I do this ? Could this have been a reason my original engine had issues? Other question is would a Honda tune do the same thing as this ?
My ECO light doesnt come on anymore. But my CEL is on stating the engine is running below temp, cooler than it should be. Do u think the VCM muzzler has something to do with it? Already replaced my themostat and both ECT, so im thinking the muzzler is the culprit?

The vcmtuner should only be using any power when the vehicles running and or when vcm engages ..so I would assume this would be okay if your battery and alternator are functioning correctly.

I installed the vcmuzzler two years ago and have had great results. No eco light and no more oil use or fouled spark plugs. This device seems overly complicated. Why must a wire be connected to the battery? I have a 2010 honda accord 3.5 liter 6cylinder.
because it's not a resistor that works on a fixed temperature. It's a controller that communicates with your ECU. The advantage is • More precise disabling • Provides closer readings to actual ECT, so your ECU is running your engine the best it can • Much less risk of engine damage if your engine overheats If your engine overheats, this device will tell your ECU, whereas VCM Muzzler will continue to provide false readings to the ECU.
@@alielosta9071 Yes, that is exactly the case. The Muzzler uses a fixed rate resistor, so the ECU never sees the actual engine temperature. VCM tuner has circuity to disable itself and pass actual temp readings to the ECU and dash gauge if the engine starts to overheat.
I have a 2013 Accord Exl v6 MT coupe, so that means i don’t have vcm? I do have the “econ” button to enable and disable it.. so in essence the “econ” feature is VCM? 🤔🤔
I personally highly recommend this on any engine with VCM as soon as possible The vehicle of which I installed this on still works great but previously had to have the engine replaced due to internal issues I believe caused by this feature.
A quick question - my 2012 odyssey runs and drives smooth.no overheat or no funny noise. noticed ECO light is on and off whenever I drive locally and HWY. Mpg is awful. I read VCM and still don’t get it.
you wont know, I have same vehicle, I used the Smart VCM, I ended up taking it out, the truck runs great without out it, You do get a lot more power on highway with the muzzler but it was almost too much, like you wanted it to go up a gear...I think the VMC smooths things out and I think honda nearly perfected the VCM now, older version of the J35 I would def use it.
Does anyone know if Honda dealerships service dept.will install ? I don't know the first thing about mechanics and I don't feel comfortable installing nor do I know anyone (friends or family) that does either.
I think this might be the problem I'm having with my 2008 V6 Accord. Eco light pops on and off constantly and it feels like it could be effecting the shifts and rpms.
How late is too late to install the SVCM/muzzler? My Pilot is at 94,500mi, gave me code P0303 two days ago. Changed cylinder 3 plug and coil, now it’s fine again.
How come at the end the RPMs were almost at 3,000 when you're only going 50? I would like to try this but I want to make sure that it doesn't make your car run in a higher RPM so eco mode doesn't come on?

I have a 2008 Odyssey Touring with 250-K miles.
Love this vehicle but I have had issues.
I maintain it well but I had VCM and oil leaks fixed, camshafts replaced due to engine Noise and oil consumption.
I had timing belt and water pump/tensioner done in the past.
Spark plugs repl and a coil pack.
My last dealer repair was for oil
Leaks but the never mentioned the option of a VCM shut off probably because it’s aftermarket.
I want to keep this baby top notch for my wife to drive cause she absolutely
Loves this thing but this darn VCM seems to be its biggest drawback and I’m tired of the oil consumption every 1000 miles.
That's awesome! So glad to hear another success story with the vcm tuner! Thanks for the comment!
Just ordered it.... have 2010 accord 3.5.... #3 going out every few hundred miles
BUT HOW DID IT AFFECT YOUR GAS MILEAGE??? VERY CURIOUS
@@freedompioneer4311 says on website that it shouldn’t mess with the mpg all that much.
@@freedompioneer4311 just went on a 2,000 mi round trip vaca a week ago and the best I was getting was 24mpg. Before installing I was getting 27mpg. So yeah I lost some mpg. This is on a 2015 Ody mini van.
Honda should give an option to on off the VCM.
Thank the government and it's EPA compliance!
Government scum
Right
Honda can't, they will have to update the miles per gallon test.
They do on the 2017+ Odyssey vans. Just push a button to turn off eco mode.
Thank you so much for making this video! i can’t wait to install this. Im having an issue this past month. Hope it would help a lot.
Has it helped any?
Are you happy with S-VCM ?
@@shaansiddiqui3872 Yes. I wish I had known about it years ago.
My Odyssey had so many misfire codes and screwed up plugs we replaced the engine because our mechanic was convinced our piston rings were screwed...putting one of these on the new engine asap. This probably could've have saved me tons
Is there a difference between a vcmtuner and vcmuzzlerII or do they work the same? Thank you
I’m glad I ran by this I have a low mileage 08 and kinda noticed that shake not a constant but rather than play roulette I just ordered my tuner 2 I want his car to last awhile good vid 👍🏻
Same just got 09 hond accord 44k miles
How long did it take to ship? Just ordered mine. Where do they ship from?
How did it go?
Thank you for this video.. My 2010 pilot just started AGAIN misfiring.. I swear every year I gotta put new plugs.. I really hope this will fix it.. And the tuner you installed looks oem which is nice.. But what is the green and blue wire for?.. Nvm. Went thru the comments and found it.. Thanks again
Thanks for this video. I've been thinking of doing this to my 2013 oddy. So far I don't have any VCM issues after 160K miles as I do a lot of stop and go city driving and ECO mode barely engages. However, I am still considering doing this.
I’ve got a brand new 2025 Ridgeline with the 3.5 V6 and the dreaded VCM. Would you recommend this device on this model? Thank you. Subscribed.
I recently installed it on my 2013 Crosstour and it’s running smoother and better than ever! I’ll update y’all after a few weeks, months or so.
Hey did it work and my tuner doesn’t have the black cover around it I wonder will that make a difference
unfortunately i never knew about this issue until our 2012 odyssey started running rough, with only 89k miles. after taking it to honda, we were hit with a nearly $5,000 repair bill. the vcm had worn the pistons rings and oil was fouling the spark plugs. we had no choice but to get it fixed. i ordered this part and it makes the van run better..but i will not be buying another honda product, unless i find a super good deal that i cant pass on.
Did you follow-up on the recall? Honda says they will reimburse.
When did VCM 3 begin 2019..2020?
did you need to do this on a 2019 Honda passport ??
Yes! ECO light is out, are all cylinders now running all of the time? Has oil usage decreased ? Thanks
Just got mine today! Gotta wait for the car to cool down then I’ll be putting this on, hoping it gets rid of some vibration on my 09 Pilot
Sweet! I'm sure Your pilot will thank you by running better than ever before! Thanks for the comment!
Did it get rid of the vibration?
@@GucciGamerTV honestly yeah. It’s been great ever since.
Did it work
Did it fix the issue?
Did it help?
It won't.
@@tonpear5909 it actually might. I read about couple ppl that’ve had this same issue & they installed the s-vcm & changed all spark plus (1 person had to replace gaskets to fix oil leak as well) & they’ve been driving for over a year with no issues ever since
Question:
The VCM Tunner is recommended for those people who drove a lot in highway?
I drive mostly in city and trying to start a little bit off-road in my Pilot…
My 3.5 had 99k miles and I drove peer year 1k miles at max, and maybe for roadtrips on highways on this vehicle why travel like anothers 1k miles every 2 years, so compared to another friends with same vehicle don’t know if I need it…
My Honda, doesn’t vibrates and didn’t find any oil issue, so, I don’t know if I need to install it anyways cuz mostly in traffic city doesn’t appear the “Eco” mode like on highway when the family do some occasional road trips (usually two peer year on this vehicle of 40miles contemplated at the 1k peer year. That’s the reason I think I didn’t think we now don’t travel a lot)
Thanks for your video and the info!
I didn’t know much about this stuff, honestly I miss my 2008 Pilot, I think it was more “eternally” haha
Greetings from Mexico!
Would this make sense to do on a 2021 Pilot? Or is this just a bigger problem on the older models?
Yea I have an 18 odyssey wit the eco on off button. Was wondering should I just keep it off eco mode
163k miles, no oil leaks or unusual usage...do you think this S-VCM will fix the shutter and not hurt the engine?? ty
My experience when I installed the S-VCM suppressor on my 2012 5AT V6 Accord Coupe was the following:
•Smoother Acceleration both from a standstill and mid drive
•Overall car felt more powerful, particularly from 1500-3000 rpm, especially on 89 octane (but no notable difference on 91)
•Faster Power when downshifting
•Reduced need to downshift as 5th gear is more powerful on light throttle
•Louder on light and mid throttle (VCM Suppressor disables active noise cancellation)
•Better engine braking
•No Change in MPG, maybe a slight increase
•Decreased Oil consumption
•*Reduced risk of "premature failure of parts like spark plugs, catalytic converters, engine mounts, pistons/rings, and cylinder walls"*
Only issue I had was when it was hot out or if the device got jostled; it wouldn't disable VCM then.
I did regret buying it because I ended up buying a Ktuner to tune my car, and you can disable it through there, so I wasted ~$150, but if you're not planning on tuning your car, it's well worth it.
Recently got a ktuner , where can I disable vcm through the ktuner
@@theSPEEDYdoggamer It's been a minute since I've used their interface (haven't owned the J35 in a year), but there should be a menu where you can check or uncheck boxes which will automatically make certain changes, and disable VCM is one of them if your car has VCM.

I just installed a VCM Tuner II on my 2014 Odyssey. Any easy way to run a couple of 14G wires, through an existing hole, in the firewall, to the dash? This for the on off toggle and low coolant level alarm. Thanks.
I bought a 2011 Odyssey 3-4 years ago and have this problem.
Would that warrantee be good for me if I bought my vehicle used from a Honda dealership?
Good video.
I have a question about the operation of the fans. work without problem or are there risks of overheating?

Any thoughts on whether this is safe to use on a 2023 Honda passport
Thanks!

My ECO light doesnt come on anymore. But my CEL is on stating the engine is running below temp, cooler than it should be. Do u think the VCM muzzler has something to do with it? Already replaced my themostat and both ECT, so im thinking the muzzler is the culprit?

Do you need to install a lower temp thermostat?
Was wondering, if I have subs in my car and the wiring is hooked up to my battery can I still run this on the battery
The vcmtuner should only be using any power when the vehicles running and or when vcm engages ..so I would assume this would be okay if your battery and alternator are functioning correctly.
I noticed my subs seem to affect power and possibly gas mileage in my 08 accord EX-L V6 220k miles have you noticed this as well??

I read somewhere that it is 50 states compliance. You may check odyclub.com, they have extensive discussion threads on this.
Will this work on a 2006 Honda Odyssey with the 3.5 ? I was trying to see what years this would work for

The advantage is
• More precise disabling
• Provides closer readings to actual ECT, so your ECU is running your engine the best it can
• Much less risk of engine damage if your engine overheats
If your engine overheats, this device will tell your ECU, whereas VCM Muzzler will continue to provide false readings to the ECU.
@@chibba5418 Do you mean that vcm tuner tells the computer that the temperature is high while vcm muzzler doesn't?? please reply
By chance do you know of anyone else selling VCM tuner? 2012 pilot VCM shows sold out!
How long did it take to get the item I just order mys today ..
So does leaving the ECO mode button off on my wife’s 2020 Odyssey make a difference with this or no?
No, the Eco button only effects throttle response. The VCM function is temperature controlled. When the engine gets warmed up, it comes on.
What method does it use? I am concerned it may adversely interact with other engine control systems.
I am having constant misfire issues and heavy shake on the engine , mechanics saying compression but car was running fine , should I get this ?
I personally highly recommend this on any engine with VCM as soon as possible The vehicle of which I installed this on still works great but previously had to have the engine replaced due to internal issues I believe caused by this feature.
Will these work for the Honda Odyssey 2011 ex?
A quick question - my 2012 odyssey runs and drives smooth.no overheat or no funny noise. noticed ECO light is on and off whenever I drive locally and HWY. Mpg is awful. I read VCM and still don’t get it.
Same on my 08 accord EX-L V6 it gets pretty bad gas mileage even with this technology BUT my car has 220,000 miles
Ill be getting that for my 2015 pilot.
Did it smoke out the exhaust before the vcm tuner?
How do you tell if the VCM system is on or off in a 2021 Ridgeline ? How do I know that the electronic unit is doing its job ?
you wont know, I have same vehicle, I used the Smart VCM, I ended up taking it out, the truck runs great without out it, You do get a lot more power on highway with the muzzler but it was almost too much, like you wanted it to go up a gear...I think the VMC smooths things out and I think honda nearly perfected the VCM now, older version of the J35 I would def use it.
Thank you for the information can you help me how to approach one of those muzzle by the way gray video
How long did it take to ship? Where do they ship from?
Does anyone know if Honda dealerships service dept.will install ?
I don't know the first thing about mechanics and I don't feel comfortable installing nor do I know anyone (friends or family) that does either.
I think this might be the problem I'm having with my 2008 V6 Accord. Eco light pops on and off constantly and it feels like it could be effecting the shifts and rpms.
The other way to avoid vcm activity is to not drive like a GRANNY! And give it the 'ol Italian tuneup once every drive.😂
How late is too late to install the SVCM/muzzler? My Pilot is at 94,500mi, gave me code P0303 two days ago. Changed cylinder 3 plug and coil, now it’s fine again.
A lot of reviews say it fixed the issue moving forward so I imagine its not too late.
Can i use this on my 2016 RDX?
Mine is being shipped as we speak for my 09 odyssey
How come at the end the RPMs were almost at 3,000 when you're only going 50? I would like to try this but I want to make sure that it doesn't make your car run in a higher RPM so eco mode doesn't come on?
