I have always loved Miss Sue Bonnet❤
My mammaw gave me a Sunbonnet Sue quilt when I was little. I loved that quilt. ❤
I love Bonnet sue. I rescued a light weight king size sun bonnet sue quilt that needs a little love
Anxious to see this Dresden design application.
Love Sunbonnet Sue and I collect all forms of leaves. I love so many of your inspiring ideas always makes ideas running through my head. Have you considered doing Sue's Friend? Sam or Fred maybe holding a rake or a basket full of leaves.
That would make such a great table topper or runner or hanging towels even placemats if reduced . Can't wait to start selecting fabric for her, but want to finish watching this tutorial. GREAT TUTORIAL!
YES!!! That would be wonderful. Great idea!!!
Just love your laugh Lisa.❤
Oooh yes on towels
Lisa so glad I found you…love your videos! God Bless!
Thanks for showing her put on a towel! And using the tear away! Love your informing
videos!
She turned out lovely! I made this back in the 80s with my daughters clothes . Thanks for going down memory's lane . I use a blue jean dress of my granddaughters who is 22 now as my clothes pin holder . You are right such a versatile pattern to use for fancy or traditional embroidery. Great job
I just love sunbonnet sue
Really cute! Nostalgic even. Lol. Really takes me back. Thank you for the templates. Off topic: Was hoping for a Chicken Update. 🐓 ❤
Forgot to say….. I have some of that Green fabric! How fun. I think I bought it in the 1970’s, not totally sure.
I have a chicken update coming soon :) Don't you just love that green fabric?
Oh Lisa that wreath is absolutely beautiful!

Thank you Lisa, I love this! She is so so cute .🤗♥️
snowed in until plows come by in a couple days, I am so ready for this one!
Love how she came out on the towel! So cute!
Hi Lisa, The appliqué turned out so well❣️❣️❣️ I need to see the others, hopefully soon. We’re in the middle of packing to move, ugh. We have lots of bugs here in NC too. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. 🥰❤️🥰 Chris
Sunbonnet Sue is an all-time favorite of mine! Thank you, Lisa Capen, for this pattern. Have you ever heardof the "Spanking Doll" pattern? My Aunt Pearl gave me an extra unfinished block to take apart for the pattern; I think it's a variation of Sunbonnet Sue enlarged to make a medallion for a twin size quilt. I will have to get her out & send you a picture...just don't look for her before end of year.🎉
Kind of funny you're doing a sunbonnet sue. My sister just gave me some quilt books she acquired and the Pieces of the Past book had her and overall bill in it. Your version is cuter though.
YES……SEW worth IT!!!!! :)
Great idea to put her on a hand towel! Thanks so much!
You're the Queen of Appliqué. Yeah, you do other sewing projects, but a majority of your projects are appliqué oriented. 😊
hahaha the Queen of Applique :) I like that. Actually my name should be Lisa Applique Capen hahahaaa :)
@LisaCapenQuilts Haha 😄 Exactly.
Wonderful project, looks great on the towel.
I love Sun Bonnet Sue! Thank you !
Thanks for the PDF, she's so adorable
Hello Lisa, sue bonnet Sue is so cute I really like the colors you chose. They match perfectly with the towel, I can see her made up on so many different things. Thank you for this tutorial today, I saved it so that I can print it out later. my printer isn't working right now so I wasn't able to get the free one. But I can order it from your Etsy shop I enjoy all of your tutorials.❤
So adorable! Thank you for the great idea of adding it to a tea towel.
Love the fabrics and colors

How should I stabilize Sunbonnet Sue if I’m appliquéing it to quilt cotton? Should I remove all stabilizer after stitching before putting my quilt together? I’d like to use the satin stitch if possible.
Really Custe
Different size pieces
Hi Lisa thank you for your tutorials and pdfs. Have you used the wash away stabilizer?
Hi Gail! I use wash away for a lot of different projects :) Sometimes I'll even use it on top when doing embroidery to help the stitches not sink down into "fluffy" fabrics.
I want to scan the pattern on my Scan n cut then send it to my embroidery machine. thank you
Are the towels terry or tea towels?
I don't think they are exactly "terry" towels.....they are more like tea towels
Someone help this old gal (me) Is a cutting machine a cricket? Those cutting machine things? Is there another type of cutting machine besides my hands?
Yes :) A Cricut or ScannCut would be examples of cutting machines :) They cut your fabric for you, saving those hands!
❤❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Where can I find that silicone mat?
you can get them at Dollar General, Walmart, Target and places like that in the baking section....I got mine on Amazon, there is a link in the description box :)
I was unable to download and print the templates for the sun bonnet sue😢
Hi Peggy, try saving the pdf and then printing :)
I can't get her to download. Is anybody else having trouble?
Did you click on the link and save it first? Try that :)
I got it finally. Sorry I bothered you. Sometimes that happens and then all at once it works. I have no idea. lol@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead
I don’t see the link
You'll need to open the description box :) Click on "more" under the title of the video
