Hi Great video, Do you know how to do the same thing on the Kemper Stage? God bless

I’m not 100% sure, but I thinks it’s basically the same process!

I constantly use my volume knob to clean up, so when profiling (refining) should I be varying the volume knob as well?

It’s worth a shot! I’m not convinced refining does a ton.

I have the exact setup. Question when I go to profile my deluxe using a phantom powered mic, AJG C414 XLII the manual says that I have to use an interface in my case would be the Apollo, then do I take the left main output and run that direct to the return on the kemper?… how should I set the gain on the Apollo?.. should I use the pad function?..and also how should I be setting the EQ and gain on the amp?

You can do that! Just check the routing in the Console app. I always set up the amp how I like it to sound as if I were recording it normally, eq and all. I’d start by experimenting with mic placement and getting a good recorded sound you like, THEN hook up the Kemper to profile it.

Question. I’m using my distortion from the amp head and using an Ibanez Tubescreamer pedal on top of that to get this nice heavy and crunchy sound. I’m guessing I would need to run the kemper direct out to the INPUT end of the Ibanez pedal , right?

Yes, you want to “profile” the entire signal path. I’m working on some myself using some rare OD/fuzz pedals to release soon 😬

@@RiggsTaylor cool! Sorry for the typo earlier. I meant MY distortion, not MILK distortion. lol. Cool. I get my kemper profile power rack tomorrow and have an idea how to profile them now. I really just need to profile that specific distortion sound. Everything else like cleans , I will use the presets on the kemper. My only other big question will be how to store those profiles onto my midi footpedal to switch between sounds

@@metallicaguy123 it’s pretty straightforward! You’ll figure it out no problem. Definitely don’t load the desktop editor- much easier to tweak on that. Enjoy the Kemper!

Is there a way to make a profile without a performance and effects attached to it? Everytime I load a profile I made it loads all the effect blocks that were on it during the time of profiling

    • @RiggsTaylor

Yeah! You can disable/delete effects blocks in the editor.

Do you have a tutorial on how to do a DI profile ?

I don’t! I recommend Tone Junkies for deep dive Kemper stuff 👍🏻

where do I plug in headphones to hear the amp tone before profiling

Do I need a mic preamp?

    • @RiggsTaylor
      @RiggsTaylor  Год назад

Nope - most interfaces have a preamp built in! Obviously you can go crazy and do a bunch of extra stuff, but it’s not necessary.

@@RiggsTaylor but I don’t even have to use the interface, correct?

Huge difference between profiled sound and amp. Profile sounds not so good.

    • @RiggsTaylor

Bear in mind, that’s a profile straight out of the Kemper with no tweaks. I think the Kemper can sound great, but it’s not exactly the same as playing an amp.
