I was trying to work out if Pelican was worth the extra cost, and what this video tells me is that they are a full of shit rip off, pretending to be high quality and to stand behind that quality when really they just stand behind a load of legal goggledygook. Wow! I keep coming back to this video and could watch it again and again. My Rig: ‘84 Fender Strat, metro20 pedaltrain with Boss BD2-Keeley Mod, Strymon El Capistan, Flint and the Keeley Dyno-my-roto/ or MXR Phase 95. Amp is my Fender 68 Pro Reverb 1x12.

I have one and it's a great amp. Both channels sound really good, nice EQ, reverb and tremolo. For edge of breakup on the clean channel, I've found that increasing the volume (gain) past 12:00 just muddies it up, but gain around noon and master around 2 or 3 works well for single coil pickups! I also brought mine over to the Bad Cat factory to correct an issue I was having with the tremolo and when I got it back, they had also updated the board (bright cap?) so the gain channel has much more clarity now.

I’ve been a Pelican advocate for years and used their warranty services multiple times. Except last year I noticed every was different. First the payment upfront was new but with shipping costs I didn’t mind. But then they lost the item I had sent back. It took 3 months fighting them and when they sent my item back it was a different color. I use my pelican products for organizing and color matters. I was spitting mad but too frustrated to bother further. At this point, I feel there are enough cheap knockoffs that Pelican holds no value.

Also had a real teeth pulling experience with replacing a wheel. When my Skb handle broke and a wheel went out their email reply was just asking for my address and the fast shipped a replacement. Pelican was a string of emails asking me how a wheel breaks? Like it isn’t the most used thing on the case… anyway haha

The guarantee against breakage is for normal wear and tear. If you buy a car and the engine stops working that's under the warranty but if you drive your car into a pole and you destroy it that's not part of the warranty and it's the same with pelican cases or any other product in this world.

Sorry man, but it took 10 seconds to hear the the first "amp" is the uad pedal. it sounds like night and day. dont get me wrong, if you like that modern, fat, direct sound of the uad pedal go for it. but it has absolut nothing to do with a real amp. all uad pedals in every shotout on yt have no feeling and vibe of a speaker moving the air. its so obvious. "A" sounds like a line amp and "B" like a recorded amp. IMO the biggest mistake that UAD does is the Speaker/Mic emulation. No miced speaker sounds so direct, fat and over the top Dynamic. most overrated pedals ever.

one thing to note, they both have a finish on the back of the neck, the gold has glossy nitro, the red has satin urethane. only the oil finished roasted necks have no finish.

I accidentally backed over the body of my custom shop Tele with my AWD station wagon not long ago. It was in a Mono M80 Sleeve. Pulled it out of the case expecting to see it in pieces or damaged beyond repair.....but nope, not a mark on the guitar, only the pickup selector was slightly bent. Ended up with a 2 inch tear in the case pocket. Either I was extremely lucky, or the Mono cases are better than a moulded hardshell case.

I play mandolin. Do you need any pedals or is this the natural sound?

I picked A as the pedal but B sounds better in the low mids. You can just hear a slight harmonic richness. Still the pedal sound amazing and it would replace the amp with out loss.
