It's nice to see someone restore a vehicle the way it should be done. This is truly a restoration not a quick tidy up or a modification with fat tyres, different motor, different suspension etc, etc. You can justly be proud of your work. Well done!
A truly marvelous, loving restoration. Beautiful job men, presto a brand new 1946 Chevy pick-up! A very nice woody too. From a member of the totally fictional Jeff Beck organization...Cars & Guitars Forever.
To some, an old Chevrolet pickup truck may not mean much but like most of us when we get to know a little about each others' history we become more interesting. My Dad was a WWII navy veteran and he owned a 1945 Chevrolet pick-up that he used to haul feed hay to the ranching customers of his Cottonwood Feed and Seed store. The only trucks built in the U.S. between 1941 and 1946 were built for the military.
Gracias.
Dario Conturso glad you enjoyed it and appreciate the original restoration. Dario Conturso se alegra de que lo haya disfrutado y aprecie la restauración original.
OMG, This a great video . Great to see this, and great info about Truck production. my Father redid one of these and it still looks great. By the way its for sale . . . any one interested ?
Will do, My fathers 46 is a nut and bolt restoration that was a labor of love. It took him about 3 years. I have been told its an excellent job. Although I am bias. Will email pics and more info in the next few days. Thanks for your interest .
Lindo esse tipo ( modelo chevrolet gigante ) anos 40. Segunda guerra mundial.
Andrew Bardone I unfortunately lost my hosting and have not had the opportunity to rebuild the site. While I have the resources, I simply have failed to find the time to rebuild it. If you are building a similar truck and have questions or need info; shoot me an email at 46chevy@att.net
Tim Sheridan thanks for the quick response! Don’t have the truck yet to restore or the time to dedicate as I’m swamped with the engineering program at Penn State, this is however my dream resto project and I’d like to do a ground up factory restoration like you did! I’m sure I will have lots of questions for you once I start haha. Just out of curiosity did you Babbitt the rings yourself, have them bored out to fit bearings or send the parts out? Looks like a fun technique to learn. Oh and how’s the Burb resto coming along?
Andrew Bardone sold the burb to someone that is keeping it original. I found oversized pistons and rods with the Babbitt done so I just used those. Local machine shop did the machining for me. Search artdecotruck.com on Facebook. I have a page out there you will like.

+Richard Patterson acutually gmc built until feb of 42
Relatively easy restoration all complete minimal rust or rot nice find😘
Very deceiving. It was pretty bad with rust holes that were bondo filled and metal cracks, etc. the hunt for solid metal was fun!
Great video! I have a 46 Dodge that I am just starting to restore!! Beautiful work!
Dave from Long Island

Live Loving Live Long
Seu motor de 06 cilindros a gasolina.
Era uma verdadeira obra de arte.
Fascinava as mulheres da época.
Quase todas queria namorar o famoso chofer.

Would love to see more about your restoration but it seems your website has been taken down...

Really pretty job. Did you keep the 4:11 ring and pinion, or go to a 3:55?
blastenpene left the 4:11 in there. 45 is about the top speed.
👍
Sound ?
Original sound was purged by RUclips because I didn’t own the music.
@@46chevytruck well that's communist California where u tube is located
Still 4:11s
horrible music...had to mute it to finish the video
This truck screams for resto mod not factory
