The Battle Pass was good the Map Changes were pretty good, but I understand why people hate them, the guns were ok I guess?
Its definitely not the greatest Season but I don't hate it at all. You can tell Epic Games tried something new and I can respect that

Its hated due to the weapons being Overpowered or weak. Also the season never introduced many minor changes. Most of it was just bug fixes and readjustments.@@jakusidk

Finally, someone who said it. I believe Primal served as a solid testing ground for Epic to experiment with new mechanics. They introduced certain elements in Season 6 and refined them in Season 7. For example, crafting was my absolutely favorite thing about late Chapter 2 and it was something original brought to battle royales. The balance between normal weapons and primal weapons allowed for different gameplay styles. Also, this season had a good battlepass and was overall more story-driven. The only thing i didnt like were the map changes, sure, I really liked the colour and feel of the primal biome, but im mostly talking about POIS. Boney Burbs felt like a worse version of Salty Towers, and the Spire was just okay, although not my preferred design. Of course, this is just my opinion. Overall, I believe this season falls among the worse ones in Chapter 2, but it wasn't as bad as some may say. I'd rate it 7/10.

I kinda liked primal. The ruined versions of the season 5 pois look amazing. The sealed zero point in the middle of the map looked amazing. I dont care what people say. Primal was one of my favorite seasons.
I liked the primal season. It was a bit harsh in the start with lack of mechanical parts, and only makeshift for floor loot. But when they fixed that, it was one of my favorite seasons. Map was nice, i liked the crafting, the bows, yeah. And colossal crops will always have a special place in my heart 😥 Good battlepass, one of the jonsey skins from that season have been my main since 😂

i think the reason why i liked Primal so much is how it was such a different gameplay then Season 5 was, Primal felt like it was a Survival open world game that over time you will upgrade you weapon’s, but the Low amount of Metal was …. a down part
that's what I'm saying!! Primal was so unique with it's gameplay which made it feel refreshing unlike other seasons.
Well, I do agree with this actually. I did get bored during the beginning but the season just got better throughout its various updates. It was an insanely cool new take on things and it was exactly what we all needed at the time, a map change. The red and green was a vibe and the autumnal forests in the chapter 2 graphics hit really hard. That is something that can’t be hated. I remember loving to fish and make it a survival game in battle lab all the time with my squad. Something only you could do during the season. This season in my opinion has to be a 7/10. Certainly not the best, but it brings back many amazing memories.
As much as I hated Primal in BR, i’ll always love it for its battle pass and how it really brought me to creative.

I liked the idea of primal, makeshift and just regular guns like the pump but sometimes the guns were just awful

I quite liked primal, it was the 6th season I had played of the game and I loved it! I loved the animals, the new biome and the chonker tires! The Season had tons of highs but also had tons of lows... In my opinion it's a solid 7.5/10

Primal was the second season I ever played, and also my favorite season I’ve ever played
I get that it was way different from regular Fortnite, but I thought it was fun and really didn’t notice much of a different

I started playing Fn this in Chapter 2 Season 6. Technically I played it the last day of season 5 but i don't count that.

My main issue with the season was that instead of crafting into better weapons than what is normally in BR, you collect shitty weapons and craft into the guns used in normal battle royale. It just didn't sit right having to use straight up worse weapons and having to work so much harder to get the same weapons you previously just got out of chests.

Another reason why it was over hated was the creative updates. We got cars, choppas, boats, fishing, many prefabs/galleries, and bows in creative. Bows also are some of my favorite weapons from fortnite. I have the mechanical ones in all my battle royale maps too.
Creative has nothing to do with the season.

Primal replaced Salty Springs with Boney Burbs and that just sucks. It's one thing if a season sucks and it keeps it suckage in that season, but if it ruins a part of the map or loot pool in future seasons, that's when it really sucks

Honestly you raise decent points. The BP was good and I loved it more than the previous season, and I forgot about Impossible Escape me and my friends played that ALOT, and this was also the season we got the Batman comics. However this is still one of my least favorite seasons just based on the gameplay the makeshift weapons and crafting system I think just were not executed well this season and although story stuff was a cool set up for next season Invasion was actually one of my favorite seasons ever and even got some old friends back into the game

I feel like its an ok season to be fair in my opinion but the only thing i hated about the season was the primal shotgun because it made competetive unplayable because w keyers were hard to play against
Primals will always hold a special place in my heart cause it's the season I started in so I can never hate it.

You can't hate it because you had not experienced the better seasons of that chapter. I'm telling you, if you joined just 1 or 2 seasons earlier you would have an abysmal opinion about it too
Primal was always one of my favorite seasons of all time. The Primal biome is still one of my favorite biomes to touch the map, and I really enjoyed traveling around it with the chonker tires. I also became a bow god this season, and bows are still my favorite weapon type.
Impossible Escape is agreeably an absolutely amazing LTM. I actually managed to complete it to get my hands on the exclusive umbrella.
There's a lot more I would like to say but this comment is getting a little large so I'll just leave it there.

I agree with you, season 6 was good, there were good memories, my main skin is from that season, agent jones, the spire was cool too. I also loved the zero crisis. So anyways SEASON 6 WAS AWSOME

i rlly dont like Primal, but i will always hold it as one of the better seasons for battle passes and content updates, even if the content wasnt for me.
i gained this new perspective of it after being confronted with Wilds, which was the first season since i started properly playing in C2S2 to actually make me stop playing and not reach tier 100.
I just think im not a fan of the primitive theme for seasons in general because it means they have to make some weapons deliberately bad and the aesthetic often isnt very nice.
at least both times its theme didnt span the ENTIRE island *cough cough chapter 5 so far*
Bro chapter 5 season 1 is so good and Fortnite OG was so good too in fact it was so good that everyone loved it and Fortnite are bringing it back in the New Year likely in the Summer or at Christmas time so that more people can play it and it's likely going to be a permanent mode this time around instead of a new 1 month season and it will have changes to not keep it the same so likely there will be new and OG items in it and the map will likely have map changes here and there including some map changes that never existed back in chapter 1 like new stuff rifting in to the chapter 1 island this would make the mode linked to the story and it would be a good way to link it into the story

I don’t know why this season has so much hate, I personally loved it because this season was really unique and brought a cool mechanic named crafting. Finally I’ve liked the primal biome. (pls don’t k*ll me in the comments because I have an unpopular opinion 😅)

I’ve played fortnite since ch1 season 3 and it’s my favorite game but even I got annoyed with this season. I stopped playing this season a few days after it came out and waited for s7. I only regret doing that because of the battle pass cause I bought it and didn’t even make it to page 2. Wilds pretty much felt the same luckily tho I did not buy the battle pass

Primal was mid compared to the rest of Chapter 2, and a slight downgrade from Season 5. The Battle Pass was glorious, but it wasn’t as good as it could’ve been.

@@LoganverseS1fax I don’t understand y people hate Vibin and wilds was just hated bcuz it was different to the rest of chapter 4 before it lmao, the only reason people had so much of a problem with little mobility items is bcuz there was so much in the first 2 seasons of chapter 4 but honestly it actually much of a problem
Vibin was so boring, felt way too long even though it was basically the same length, nothing interesting happened for the whole season

The primal season was honestly one of the times I played fortnite the most, I didn't really like the "live" event but I really liked the season
Primal is my third favorite season of all time. Only coming after Top Secret and Underground.

I loved Primal. When I played Fortnite I was newer to games with guns so getting bows was a welcome change. Also why do you think everything is a Zelda reference? The towers look nothing like the ones from the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I'm not mad or anything it's just funny.

about the secret skin, here in Brazil people loved it because our country is not very represented, but I understand you don't like it, I didn't like it as much either because Neymar cheated on his own pregnant wife
I loved primal, It evolved fortnite beyond what it had been. There was now stuff do between fights, mainly, search for resources to upgrade your loot. I personally like how the makeshift weapons sucked. They wern't supposed to be used beyond the beginning. Their purpose is to last until you can upgrade them, and at that they succeded. I admit that the crafting system being such a focus in primal was extreme, but not unprecedented. Fortnite regularly makes a new mechanic more powerful or more common so people use it, before scaling it back. I would personally love the crafting system come back. Heck, it could be used in combination with the attachment system so that you have to craft attachments for your gun, but can do so anywhere.

Primal is one of my most played seasons for some reason so it will always have a soft spots for it. They should definitely bring back bows though

Primal was a good season in my opinion, even though the other seasons are kind of good, they got boring in the middle so, from chapter 2 season 7-chapter 4 season 3 I would quit mid season and only play the first and last couple of weeks, but primal was fun and kept me playing all season
In my opinion the crafting system was great because the makeshift guns made offspawn fights more skill based and slower (less punishing) later on you should upgrade to guns that you preferred and it added a variety of new play styles. Additionally the bows were something new after having a bolt action style sniper for so long. Btw great Battle Pass.
It made it less skill based cuz ppl js spammed with the primal snotty and if u got a normal pump it then u won early game it took all the skill away

There seems to be a pattern, both of the most hated seasons are both ancient or primitive themed, idk what that means but I thought I would just point it out
I couldnt enjoy this season that well since I got covid at the time and was doing really bad lol

I lost my fortnite account in primal and got it back on the second day of og Fortnite, what's ironic now is that I love survival/story stuff like red dead redemption 2 so I think that season was meh
I didn't love it but Desperate Escape is probably my second favorite ltm of all time, so that alone makes it much better than wilds
This season had the worst secret skin, cringe crafting that I and many others never got used to, terrible ugly biome, the loot pool was horrible, if someone truly likes primal, good for them, but I feel like most people are only saying they liked Primal to be different.
I truly think Fortnite Primal was Fortnite at its lowest.
I thought it was a decent season, but I really didn’t like that the primal buildings were still in season 7 & 8, I honestly felt they should’ve been replaced to their original or a new form or getting removed in general; same thing with the small spire towers, like seriously they honestly made me miss season 6
I loved primal! The battlepass was awesome and i loved the bows, primal weapons could've been better but the crafting aspect was interesting and the autumnal style in the middle of the map was really cool.
This was the first season I stoped playing the game..
I just never found it fun
I initially quit Fortnite during the Avengers season (CH2S4 IIRC) for a lengthy break from burnout after playing consistently since CH1S4, 10 seasons exactly lol.
I returned to early Primal, and the meta and unique spin on gameplay that was provided by the crafting system just didn't seem that fun in general to me, and as silly as it is looking back, I had joined back just as Tilted Towers got replaced with a greatly inferior version. The battlepass was absolutely legendary and I still feel its among the top 10 to this day, but grinding it out for all that time just would not be worth it as I didn't enjoy the season. This still greatly disappoints me on some levels. It still greatly disappoints me on some levels that one of the last seasons featuring great original content for a battlepass was so flawed, Lara Croft and Agent Jonesy especially are standout skins to this day as mentioned here, but I truly didn't even know about the wild weeks, unvaults, or LTMs that released later on. It seems as if most of it was too little too late.
Great video, there's my ramble of a take on why I dislike the season.
My favorite season, I really liked the changes on the map, especially the Spire when Raz appeared. The battle pass is almost perfect (Neymar Jr worst secret skin, although the armor style is cool) the weapons are... questionable, except the bows those are fantastic.
For me one of the best seasons personally.
I have a bit of a soft spot for this season as its the first time I played since like chapter 2 season 2
I still love the primal seasons battle pass, especially raven. Her pickaxe goes with so many skins and combos for me

I see where your coming from, i just feel like the overall gameplay loop felt really annoying to play, and i love alot of the hated seasons too, like fortnitemares 2018 is my favorite event for the zombies and glider redeploy, but i felt like primal was just boring as hell

Primal was the first season I played. I HATED fortnite for the longest while because "annoying/toxic fandom = bad game." Clearly, I was stupid and if that was true, most games are bad. So it clearly got me to keep playing to this day.

I did NOT enjoy Primal, the loot pool felt so gross, with things like the recycler, cuddlefish, makeshift weapons, etc. I know those were already covered in the video but I did not enjoy the loot in the slightest because of those items. The POIs also did not feel good, maybe it's just me but they did not feel fun to play around and I really just didn't enjoy the look entirely. Then the NPCs.. don't get me started on Raz as a boss, that was just...no. The live event, also covered in the video, did not feel great.. I think a lot of that comes down to not being able to play it with friends. But overall I think it was a lot caused by coming from such great seasons as 2 through 5. Some of those could be debatable but for me, those are where some of my best Fortnite memories come from. No hate if you enjoy Primal though..but it is BY FAR, my least favorite season ever.
The only like good memory's I have from primal is the event obviously and playing playing creative with my friends and the ufos abducting us at the end lmfao
Honestly, looking back on the primal season now, yeah it was better than many gave it credit for but still, it was a major dip in quality compared to the seasons surrounding it, the map changes were non--existent, besides from a single disconnected island with a scar on it, plus it just felt like a long season, and it wasnt helped by battle pass which saw a reduction in super level awards, the loot pool which, if you asked me, dipped a lot near the end (especially when raz replaced the spire assassin, giving us our third 'unique' bow variant for the season which really made weapons feel less unique) and tbh i didnt like bows, at all, they were single shot replacements for the snipers with only 40 ammo, they were very unlikely to give you a headshot kill and the loss of snipers likely hit hard between either season, 5 had the mandalorian sniper which was so fun to use when combined with the jetpack, and 7 had railgun which just felt awesome to use.
The battle pass outside of jones felt empty to me, spire assassin had felt weak back then and once doesnt have a fair comparison no matter which way you take it, menace/fully upgraded mando just have so much combination and also just look better and rick sanchez like much more of an impact than spire assassin ever cojkd and yeah, neymar jr was an insult of a collab secret skin and is probably its lowest point so far.
But to bring up positives, i really liked the crafting feature, even in its 'overcomplicated' form, it encouraged players to learn the map in new ways, either by finding the fastest and most consistent route to powerful mechanical weapons or it encouraged you to stick around the primal area to collect those crsfting materials for the bows and primal weapons. Speaking of which the primal weapons themselves were pretty good, and though they weren't as powerful as the old weapons they still gave us unique ways to change the meta and made building more of a risk. Plus the primal shotgun was a welcome return to comically overpowered weapons that epic had to quickly neft out of viability, leaving us with the atrocity of a mythic recycler at the spire until raz took over.
The impossible escape was and still is one of my favourite fortnite ltms, mostly because it changes how you play the game (like the floor is lava, air royale and the getaway do) and puts more of a focus on living and teaming up rather than killing everyone you meet, one thing i liked was the pve and pvp difference which added a level of intensity when you meet randoms in game or choose to help out the fifth player, plus, i liked the day night cycle, and its growing difficult as you play.
There are more positives i could give, like the npc's, the animals, the wild weeks, like you said, as well as the story missions and the ufo secret event which im really, really glad they added because it reminds me of the old days where events were rare and mid game. Overall, its a season had a lot of good and a lot of bad and its glaring weakness in what was mostly a high period likely led to that legacy of it being the worst season, but looking back its probably better than many seasons we've seen since, most of chapter 3 felt lackluster and its movement away from ltms definitely made it a worse chapter, plus 4's insistence to maintain that model while active damaging other game aspects once again makes me feel like we took seasons like primal for granted.

yes it is it was only a few tweaks away from being a god tier meta and sadly it was very anti build meta during 4 weeks of the season
Honestly, I really enjoyed Primal. I don’t think it was the best Fortnite season, but I think it tops a lot of the newer seasons, such as Paradise, Vibin’, MEGA, and Wilds. Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but I feel like I enjoyed it better than the current season, Underground.
looking back, we has it so good for content in ch2, i miss it, the graphics were the best they ever been and i wish they kept them, instead of the ugly semi-realism they are trying to get nowadays (just look at lego fortnite and compare to br, night and day)
I didn’t really like Primal overall. But, I will say, that I 100% understand what Epic was trying to do here, and I think that it was very unique. Good? Not really...but unique, absolutely. They tried something new and I respect that. Also the last couple of weeks where they added back the Tactical Shotgun was peak. And yeah the skins were great.
Idk man I really loved the shake up tbh I loved the boys and really didn’t mind the crafting but I can see why a lot of ppl didn’t like it
So my brother was always a huge fan of Fortnite but I didn’t start playing until season 5 with my friends during COVID. I genuinely loved it and had a lot of fun with it. Salty Towers was my favorite place to drop. I completed the entire battle pass, spending my V bucks on the last two levels to get baby Yoda. Then prime came along… I hated the map so much. I couldn’t stand the wolves. I hated how you had to craft weapons like you were in The Last of Us. I wanted to try and get Lara Croft, but I just never got the chance. I dropped Fortnite for a while because of that
