So glad you heard my pleas for USB viewing! Was a natural fit as soon as Apple added support. So much easier with this update to know what you're switching to, and love the compatibility with custom overlays.
From a functionality standpoint, nothing. Free to download version gives the option of a 30-day trial. Paid up-front version is for people who want to buy it immediately or do not have the ability to do In-App Purchases. mixeffect.app/pro-explanation/
Good question. I think the higher end capture cards will reproduce the colors better and be faster to respond. But, since this the general use case for USB View is for displaying the Multiview, I don't think those things matter as much (at least for me they don't).
Hello Adam, great upgrade!! Can you comfirm that this works on a base iPad 2022 to? I”m not sure because that iPad just has the USB 2 connection speed. Checks all the other boxes though. I bought the iPad 2022 especially for MixEffect usb-view at just 374€ (arrives next week).
@@AdamTow Do you think it will still only be one MV per Extreme? (but can be outputted via USB instead of HDMI) or a slim chance it'll be a second/additional MV?
@@AdamTow if I wanted to multicam live stream with streamyard, using mixeffect to cut between cameras based on video follow audio. Would that work? @@OfficialflymediaMixEffect can’t stream out by itself (and no plans to add that). You would have to have the ATEM stream what’s being produced to Streamyard. You can’t do this in MixEffect. I suppose an app could take in a video signal via an hdmi to usb adapter like the app, flip it, and then output it via the hdmi out from a usb-c hub. There will be a delay and color shift depending on the adapters being used. Decimator will be more reliable.
Adam- suggestion ?i use a wireless hdmi out from hollyland/ hollyview- which might be ???? Connected instead of wiring usb to hdmi-IDK if that will get us closer to your perfect app- i love your tool
This may not work because the Hollyland transmitters create their own Wi-Fi network and have a proprietary app that does not appear to be open for third-parties to access. If anything, getting MixEffect to accept NDI connections may be better, but that's not currently on the roadmap at the moment.
Hello Adam, do we know when we can expect a future release that would allow ATEM mini Pro ISO users the ability to wirelessly not only control the switcher but most importantly SuperSource the various HDMI inputs from the ATEM Mini Pro ISO? thank you. Again currently using iPad 7th Gen. If and when ever it gets release please reach out and take my money PLEASE! :). My main reason for these request is that like most of the user here, we are a 1 man show and so I would like the availitiy to wireless switch camera angles when hosting a podcast with my studio guest, without having the ATEM right next to me and or any cables showing on the shot.
Great Update, do i need a Special USB C Dongle? My Anker one doesnt Show any Picture from the Atem...Do the USB C Adapter do IN and Output? My iPad shows a USB Adapter attached but no View on the iPad:( Thanks for your help...
USB Hubs only do output. You'll need an HDMI to USB dongle. Do you have the exact model number of the Anker one? I have a recommended model that I use here: docs.mixeffect.app/configure/external-camera-support#hdmi-to-usb-adapter
Hmmm... currently I have my ATEM Constellation 1 4K connected to my IPAD Pro, over ethernet. So, If I connect this way to get USB View, with this new cables-converters, etc., do I still get full connection/control of my switcher via iPad, or do I have to make that connection happen wirelessly via Wi-Fi? And what about the USB webcam connection on the back of the switcher? Does Mix Effect utilize that at all?
USB View and controlling ATEM from USB has no effect in Ethernet connection. You should be able to use other network devices to control the ATEM. USB View via direct USB connection can be combined.
@AdamTow, ideally I would like to have a single usbc cable connecting the switcher to the iPad and have multi view along with control of the switcher without any additional hardware. Are you saying I can do that?
@@jancarsonweatherby1579 Yes, this will work. You may need to use a USB-C to USB-A from the ATEM and use a USB-A to USB-C adapter into the iPad for this to work.
