I'm Japanese Seventy Six years old, using Mix Effect, once I used to be Companion, so I will getting touch using with both of MixEffect&Companion from now. Thank you Mr.Adam Tow introducing useful methods.
Hello~ I have the question. Just like I push right transition button. Why ATEM won't do the right transition action ,and it will do what we want. Is the any way to let ATEM not run defualt action? Or we don't need to set any thing? thx
There is no way to prevent the ATEM from running the default action. It's built into the hardware, and we can't change that. This is why you would use this method on buttons that you never use.
In our mixeffect pro on the iPad, I have two source #3 buttons. I want to reassign one of the 3s to the camera source. And rename the other 3 button and label it as blank. How can I do that?
Go into Switcher Settings > Labels and adjust the names of the labels. You can’t remap the buttons at the current moment, so what is plugged into your ATEM is what will appear in MixEffect.
There's a feature in the VFA settings for each audio input where you can specify inputs on program that you don't want VFA to work on. So, if there's a camera angle that you don't want VFA to operate, add that to your list. Otherwise, I would use the VFA button to turn the entire feature off.
Yes. If you have an Apple Silicon Mac, you can run MixEffect alongside Companion. Or, if you don't want to run MixEffect, you can see if the ATEM Module for Companion has the variables and conditions you require. There is overlap between the ATEM Module and the MixEffect module, but there are some that one has and the other doesn't (and vice versa).
@Adam Tow: I’m a new user. After reprogramming an ATEM with Mixeffect does Mixeffect have to stay on and connected to the network or ATEM itself to function. Or can I reprogram then disconnect Mixeffect and the computer it is using?
MixEffect needs to stay on if you use this method with Companion. If you program the trigger using the ATEM module in Companion (not using the MixEffect module), you may disconnect MixEffect. But then you won’t have access to other features of my app.
@@AdamTow So using Companion as a trigger, Companion can talk to MixEffect to started an array of commands, and send these commands directly to the ATEM switcher without having MixEffect open the entire time?
no. In order to talk to MixEffect, it needs to be open and running. When I said to use the ATEM module in Companion, you would create the triggers using its feedback variables and send commands to the ATEM directly using the ATEM modules functions. If you used the MixEffect module, you would talk from Companion to MixEffect to the ATEM.
@@AdamTow Ok great! Now I understand. Thank you! You did amazing work on this software. Have you considered providing compatibility or a version of MixEffect for the OSEE GoStream or Roland mixers as well?
@@4sightfilmsLLC app was designed for BMD ATEM devices, so it would take significant work to make it compatible with other switchers. And I would need an SDK for these other switchers to even begin the process.

Great possibillity. Thank you Adam for this demonstration.
Wow, so greate, thx Adam!
Very cool Adam!
Thank you, now i'll use the buttons
Great Hack, thanks for sharing.
Incredible 👍👍👍

When you use video follows audio, can you overwrite the switching and force a certain angle by pressing the button on the atem manually?

must you have the other softwares (companion and mixeffect) on whilst you’re live each time for this to work?
