F-35's, pretty awesome. I saw 4 of them once at night coming home from Christmas shopping with my wife a few years ago. They were flying in pairs one low, one high over the river that was next to the hwy we were on. In our 14 mile trip home we never lost sight of them and actually where we made our turn off the hwy they were hovering waiting on us and we crossed together. At that point we had no idea what they were but a couple minutes later we found out as one of them flew directly above us and we could hear the engine. At that point it seemed like he was letting us know we were being watched. That road led to a T where we would take a left to the entrance to the Lake we lived at a mile or so from our house. When we got to our turn all 4 of them went straight and as soon as we pulled in our driveway here they came one by one from behind us low and slow directly over our house. They did that over and over again. They were so low if you had a good arm you could have hit one with a rock. It's a long story but yeah the F-35's are pretty cool you ought to see them at night.
I think that the front lift fan gave out. Either a clutching error or the software turned it off when it touched down. It was an acceptance test flight.
I remember hearing that when you eject from a plane like that it's typical to result in fractured disc's and all kinds of other injuries, hope they're okay
Spinal disc COMPRESSION is what usually happens during elections and they supposedly "heal" over time, but will result in a lot of pain later on in life. I was an enlisted Aircrewman on C-2 Greyhounds for 12 years. We did not have ejection seats. I actually shrunk an inch after my first of 3 years at the training command (VAW-120) from all the arrested landings at the carrier & "touch & go" landings we did. I had flown for 5 years and hundreds of carrier landings in the fleet before my stint as an aircrew instructor at VAW-120. After a year at VAW-120 on my next 3 annual flight physicals I measured an inch shorter than my normal height. After returning to the fleet my height slowly returned to 72" (6' 0") tall. Now, 30 years later my back and shoulders are in constant pain, and I almost can not turn my head from side to side from the pain.

My dad flew F-15s for the Air Force (retired)… he told me that ejection practically marks the end of a fighter pilot’s career because of the G- forces experienced by their spine and it’s effects. So question is will this guy get back his wings?
This is not the first time the F35 overrode pilot commands and wrecked the aircraft. The Eglin AFB crash accident investigation report concluded the aircraft overrode the pilot’s command to lift off and go around, forcing the pilot to eject before going off the runway. In today’s crash the aircraft left the engine at full throttle after touch down. This caused the aircraft to lift tail up after landing and tipping it on it’s nose. No doubt the autopilot overrode the pilot after the autopilot malfunction because the engine stayed on so long spinning the f35 around for several seconds instead of shutting down. This forced the pilot to eject. Obviously Lockheed failed to learn from the Eglin crash and the F35 autopilot is still malfunctioning on landings and still overriding the pilot.
Enough with your nonsense, pogue. "I find by a preponderance of the evidence that the causes of the mishap were a high speed landing and a lack of flight control response on landing. The MP landed at 202 KCAS, which was approximately 50 KCAS faster than the desired speed for the MA weight upon recovery. The increased landing speed resulted in a bounce that, coupled with MP and MA flight control conflicts, resulted in the MA departing controlled flight and the MP electing to eject. I further find by a preponderance of the evidence that the following were substantially contributing factors to the mishap. The HMD misalignment at night distracted the pilot at precisely the worst point in the approach timeline, and the F-35A reliance on auto-throttle modes and associated cross-checks played a part in the MP’s failure to turn off the Speed Hold or recognize the fast approach and shallow landing attitude. A lack of sleep, coupled with post-mission cognitive degradation, further aggravated the MP’s struggles with his instrumentation. Finally, a lack of systems knowledge and negative training from simulator experiences prevented him from appropriately responding to the high speed landing." BRYAN T. CALLAHAN, Colonel, USAF President, Accident Investigation Board 11 September 2020
Looked like the lift fan cut out to me, because if the jet had throttled up instead it would have rotated around its center instead of the front dropping. That smoke puff could have been the drive line to the lift fan right behind the pilot coming apart. It will be very interesting to find out more, whenever it may be released.
@@AA-xo9uw Well... It crashed in Texas, so the obvious conclusion is the US navy. We also know the variant, so it's a USMC plane. The UK (not sure if it's only navy or more branches) operates the B, it is the only available fifth gen fighter that can replace the AV-8B (harrier) and they use ramps to launch jets rather than flat catapults, but I'm not sure what additional capabilities they may have. It's not impossible it is a UK jet but that seems far less likely to me, again because...Texas!
Those 0-0 ejection seats saving the day yet again. I suspect FCS software issue, probably the bounce was due the pilot's error but the pitch down doesn't really feel commanded
Being upside down was the least of that pilot’s concerns…. Jet fuel is hella explosive in situations like that, right side up or upside down it don’t matter, even being in the vicinity of that jet will be your death if it explodes
Honest question. Would “most” fighter pilots punch in this scenario? Once it righted and the engine was off, wouldn’t the safest option be to sit tight?
The f35 can pretty much land without pilot assistance... so un commanded pitch is a good call. I do have to ask, seeing it happened after a bump, could the pilot have bumped the stick?
Could you image being the person driving by and seeing that? My guess is the person who drive by didn’t catch it because most people now a days can’t even pay attention long enough to catch the street signs (instead of making themselves pay attention they allow their minds to wander because it’s easier than paying attention) but how cool would that be to see.

F-35 seems to have a known issue with the nose wheel collapsing. That's at least the third case.
Ok so the speed at which you can grow your mustache makes me think you might be some kind of super hero 🤔
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
That was an unintentional evacuation he had Taco Bell for lunch
Wishing a speedy recovery TO THAT PILOT
Check RUclips Lemoine for his review of the Eglin F35 accident investigation report.
Enough with your nonsense, pogue.
"I find by a preponderance of the evidence that the causes of the mishap were a high speed landing and a lack of flight control response on landing. The MP landed at 202 KCAS, which was
approximately 50 KCAS faster than the desired speed for the MA weight upon recovery. The increased landing speed resulted in a bounce that, coupled with MP and MA flight control conflicts, resulted in the MA departing controlled flight and the MP electing to eject. I further find by a preponderance of the evidence that the following were substantially contributing factors to the mishap. The HMD misalignment at night distracted the pilot at precisely the
worst point in the approach timeline, and the F-35A reliance on auto-throttle modes and associated cross-checks played a part in the MP’s failure to turn off the Speed Hold or recognize the fast approach and shallow landing attitude. A lack of sleep, coupled with post-mission cognitive degradation, further aggravated the MP’s struggles with his instrumentation. Finally, a lack of systems knowledge and negative training from simulator experiences prevented him from appropriately responding to the high speed landing." BRYAN T. CALLAHAN, Colonel, USAF

Looked like the lift fan cut out to me, because if the jet had throttled up instead it would have rotated around its center instead of the front dropping. That smoke puff could have been the drive line to the lift fan right behind the pilot coming apart. It will be very interesting to find out more, whenever it may be released.
Yes.. Just like the one the navy lost a while back.. Same model..
@@BAZZAROU812 Which Navy are you referring to?
@@AA-xo9uw Well... It crashed in Texas, so the obvious conclusion is the US navy. We also know the variant, so it's a USMC plane. The UK (not sure if it's only navy or more branches) operates the B, it is the only available fifth gen fighter that can replace the AV-8B (harrier) and they use ramps to launch jets rather than flat catapults, but I'm not sure what additional capabilities they may have. It's not impossible it is a UK jet but that seems far less likely to me, again because...Texas!
It's not that badly damaged it could probably be repaired
Software issue?
VTOL jets issue. Harriers had a similiar issue when landing.
Women issue
Hope he can still fly after that
Get well soon Devil Dawg🙏🏽
Bet that guy not gonna watch Topgun movies for the rest of his life after this
Glad pilot is OK!! But boy hitting that ejecto seato looks boss I'm gonna have to install one for the wife
Those 0-0 ejection seats saving the day yet again. I suspect FCS software issue, probably the bounce was due the pilot's error but the pitch down doesn't really feel commanded
Literally waited for the 2 seconds of him letting the video play out and it never came..
Being upside down was the least of that pilot’s concerns…. Jet fuel is hella explosive in situations like that, right side up or upside down it don’t matter, even being in the vicinity of that jet will be your death if it explodes
That was awesome! & YOU Gotta Wear the mustache friend... you cannot let the mustache wear you!
Honest question. Would “most” fighter pilots punch in this scenario? Once it righted and the engine was off, wouldn’t the safest option be to sit tight?
Very cool! Quick thinking too! Hey, did you see how that thing was landing? What is that a Harrier jet?
The tears run all the way down my face. I hate this clip. Crushing.
Ah, this brings me back to the good ole days in Battlefield 4 when everyone was new to the vector jets
lol 2 seconds later it becomes abundantly clear that he didnt need to eject. 20/20 hindsight
Canada ordered a bunch of these after seeing the video. Trudeau was noted as saying “what a unique way to exit the cabin”
And I hope that pilot doesn't have too many vicious injuries from that ejection I know those are really hard on them
The f35 can pretty much land without pilot assistance... so un commanded pitch is a good call. I do have to ask, seeing it happened after a bump, could the pilot have bumped the stick?
just pure speculation but what I'm seeing is the commentators mustache is completely in control of this man's mouth and mind
I used to watch the B52s take off from here in the early 70s.
That first landing attempt looked pretty hard, maybe they should ride the simulator more than twice before winging it.
Bro I can't imagine the force they felt in that Split Second when they ejected
For most who don’t know when a fighter pilot eject it breaks their backs due to the amount of pressure the spine takes
Just imagine how much pain he was after hitting that ground even though it was a seat it still hurts
Seat drops. After the adrenaline wears off, he’s definitely feeing that rapid acceleration.
Was waiting for the jet to move forward making the pilot land back into the cockpit
