  • The winter storm is gone but Charlotte, North Carolina is still dealing with the impacts two days later. Melted snow and sleet froze overnight Monday, leading to icy roads across North Carolina and South Carolina Tuesday. Many school districts in the region, including Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, closed due to the dangerous driving conditions for students, buses and families.
First Warn forecaster Larry Sprinkle is joined by WCNC Charlotte's Ruby Durham and Richard DeVayne to discuss the dangerous driving conditions, how many days we'll have to deal with black ice and the possibility of even more wintry weather this week. Chief meteorologist Brad Panovich says the current weather pattern is favorable for snow in the Carolinas but will Charlotte see it? Or are we due for a cold rain, wintry mix, sleet or all of the above? It's still too early to predict a winter storm but we're definitely watching the models and tracking the storm system before it gets to the Carolinas. #WakeUpCLT #NCwx #CLTwx
