In this episode of The Joy of Building, we finally get our hands on some awesome enchantments. We build a beautiful wizard tower that stretches high in the clouds! I know a lot of people struggle with interior decorating, so join me as I walk you through my process of designing the interior of the tower!
#minecraft #survival #letsplay
Maybe you could build a stable for the donkey? Somewhere where he could sleep and eat when you're not riding together
Uh oh...I kinda feel bad now... he doesn't have a place to sleep 😢. We are definitely gonna have to change that and get him a stable or barn! I appreciate your suggestion, thank you!
such an throwback to old minecraft videos, definetly an underrated channel!
Aww thanks, I appreciate that! 😊
With a modern Minecraft approach. Reminds me of Etho in his own unique way
You guys clearly haven’t watched any bdoubleo100. Watch one video and you’ll understand.
Floating candles might add to the magical atmosphere in the tower as you go up it!
Ohhh that sounds fun! Great idea! 😄
Commenting for engagement because you deserve to continue this growth. Such a unique and refreshing character
You're the man! Thanks so much, I really appreciate it ❤
👏👏
Watching something as relaxing as this instead of being held in this tendency of making everything super fast and massive… It’s definitely a great feeling. Love your builds and how you showcase them in the videos.
Thanks! I find minecraft to be a very chill game and so I try to keep the same vibe through my videos. I'm glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching ❤
Damn, the UI edits for the furnace and ench table were smooth! Also, you could make a small hot spring, or a lake at the top of the mountain above the farm, to be the source of water for the farmland.
Thank you, I'm glad you like the little edits! Thats a great idea! I appreciate the feedback; I'll have to throw something together at the top of the mountain 😄
Don't give up your style for anything. You are a real find, a genuine treasure in a mountain of youtube trash.
Aww thank you, I appreciate that! ❤
Maybe when you get azalea leaves, you can sprinkle some outside the tower bushes to keep the pink/purple theme going. Great build!
Ohhh that's a great idea! I love the way you're thinking!!! The flowering leaves would tie in so well with all the hints of purple/pink! Thank you!😊
You could even add cherry leaves but that might be too much
I believe the cows escaping are from the babies growing up and glitching outside the pen because of entity cramming
Yea I think you're right! 🙂
is no one gonna talk abt that eerie ending and how in previous videos there would suddenly be a new pov and a strange sound as if someone/something was watching him
👀
we may not be talking but we sure are looking forward to these creepy interludes and to see how that plays out 👍
where _did_ those three iron go...
FUN MINECRAFT FACT: You can use trapdoors instead of fences as animal pens. The ai for mobs like cows and sheep doesn’t consider trapdoors as a block it can jump over. So no more ugly carpet on top of fences!
Oh yeaaaa! I forget about that trick, such a good way to make animal pens!
Also a small suggestion: a lectern would look great at the wizard tower desk, maybe for noting things down :D
Ohhh very good suggestion! I'll make sure to add that asap! Thanks for reminding me about lecterns lol 😄
Peaceful. Creative, and perfect for while I did the dishes.
Since you are taking suggestions, don't forget you can water log iron bars now, so you can add iron bars where the water is coming out of the farm, if you don't want just a hole there.
The tower tube would be perfect for mounting a big 2x2 map of your area.
A cat inside the wizard tower would help keep mice from eating your books.
And I think a little tool shed/drop off location at the base of the tower would be some fun lore, where people who need equipment enchanted could drop their gear off and pick it up from the wizards without having to climb up and down the ladder. Just some thoughts.
Greay video!
Thanks so much, these are some very great suggestions! All of these ideas sound like really fun things to add and help tell the story of the wizard tower. I appreciate it ❤
hey, maybe as an idea; put some lighting blocks (glowstone, or those nether lamp thingies which grow on trees) under the leaves of the tower. During the night, it will give the tower a mystical vibe as to where the light comes from.
This reminds me of Bdubs a whole lot, i like his style
Bdubs is a big inspiration for me, he's the best!
Dude this horror character you're putting in every episode is getting so eerie man haha, I love it. It gives a mysterious vibe to the series. Love your content man
Having 4k subscribers is a crime for this quality. I really like your content, from video editing to how you cook it🍲
LOL thanks! That means a lot
Add some floating purple crystals around the tower and use bushes as vines going up around the tower.
Ahhh amethyst crystals would look so good!!!! I need silk touch asap, thats a great suggestion!
bro brought old nostalgic minecraft vibe
❤ thanks for tuning in!
I absolutely adore these kinds of videos. It's extremely calming and refreshing. Really reminds me of the old time when things were much simpler.
Also not to mention the cinematic shots and the little ui edits. This channel is currently my comfort channel
Aww that's so sweet, thank you! I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the series! 😊
ooh idea for the path: since it's through a forest, for a fun kinda-fantasy touch, you could build a giant overturned log that the path goes through! I did that for a small railway on a server a little while ago and it was such a nice addition!
love your builds and videos! so cool how you can come up with these nice builds, looking forward to seeing what else you create! :D
That sounds like a great idea! I love it, thanks for sharing! 😊
I've been watching all episodes of the series so far and I have to say these have been the most enjoyable videos I've watched in recent times. Not only that, but your edits, your builds, commentary and the eerie incidences really sparked my motivation to create something myself. This is exactly what the goal of the Joy of Painting was supposed to be and I hope you can keep it up. Amazing stuff! Oh and I think you should make the carpet at the bottom of the tower pink to fit the windows and Allium flowers.
Aww that's very kind, I love to hear that! That genuinely makes my day that you're finding some kind of motivation in these videos! I really appreciate the support! And you're right, I should definitely change the carpet to pink and purple, great suggestion! ❤
THE RETURN OF THE KING
👑
Broo, your videos are so nostalgic, it's crazy! Thank you so much, may God bless you!
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching ❤
Very nice, cozy series, reminds me a lot of SoupSoup's videos. Nice to see that "old-school" style, cozy Minecraft videos are making a resurgence.
Hahaha yea, SoupSoup was a big inspiration for starting this series! Thanks for watching :D
I love this series, brilliant! You should make a playlist on Spotify or something for the music you use 🎵
Thanks for watching! I did make a little youtube playlist of all the songs I've used across all of my videos if you're interested in that: ruclips.net/p/PLxNeOl5GPDssMdW7q4A9tIsqfIRdfqvEW&si=9o3AX818hZh8wgWx
I was gonna say there's nothing really weird for once and then the end xD I love that wizard tower! A really good use of diorite, this very misunderstood block
Lol right! Diorite is not as bad as people make it out to be! Its actually really fun to build with as long as you have the right blocks to compliment it. Thanks for the support throughtout this series
I love how you're going slow, and progressing your own pace. Keep up the good work! Also love the way you build bro.
Thank you! That means a lot! ❤
A suggestion i‘ve seen nobody write yet is the use of the Distant Horizons Mod. Could be really cool, seeing your wizard tower far off in the distance when exploring. Absolutely in love with your style of videos❤
That's a great suggestion! I've tried Distant Horizons with shaders before, but I've never tried without shaders. I wonder if it would still give the same effect 🤔
Reminds me of childhood Minecraft. Been trying to find that vibe for myself recently. Love the vids bro
Thanks so much, Blake! I'm glad you're enjoying the series, it's always nice to go on those little nostalgia trips! ❤
Great video! Very cool series. An easy way to add details to a large tower is to add levels, I find. Putting either full blocks or trapdoors as flooring and then giving porpuse to that level is a great way to make it feel like a real place.
Thanks for watching! That's a great idea! More floors would definitely help to add some more detail and purpose to the tower 😄
another great episode as usual!i like that you're so open to taking suggestions from viewers.
Thank you! The community has so many great ideas, its fun to implement them into our world 😄
Best Minecraft serie I've seen i a long time, cheers and thanks !!!
❤❤
When you make the path to the tower, perhaps put a tall sign post where the paths converge with hanging signs telling you where each road goes. I think that would be good for flavor. Maybe some hanging lanterns like the ones on the farm would be good to put along the roads too.
Ohhh thats a wonderful idea! 😄
If you have a dragon head you can put it on a table and then put candles in its mouth because the head covers 2 blocks. It looks like it has teeth with fire coming out of its nose
Hahaha thats a cool trick! I've never heard of that before! It might be a while until I get a dragon head, but we'll have to try that out once we get it!
Found your channel yesterday, me and my friend are hooked!
You're so wholesome and your videos are so relaxing while also being engaging.
Aww thank you! I appreciate you guys! Thanks for the support! ❤
I love the idea that the lightning rod provides some sort of magical power for the enchantment table!
Idea for the enchanter, a lush little pond with lilly pads as a path with the enchanter in the middle on a few rocks. Optional Cherry on top Maybe with a hanging leaves tree like a realistic birch (shame they didn't make birch like it in Vanilla) or a weeping willow
Well at the end of the video now, nevermind 😂
@@gianoverchill5266 Hahaha thats a really great idea, though! I can envision exactly what you're describing, like a magical forest surrounding a pond with the enchanment table in the middle. Sounds like a very peaceful environment, I love it! 😊
@@Etat Yes maybe it's Something for my next world funny thing is right now i am building a tower like this too🤣 but on a Mountain that's like 300 block high gotta see how to make it fit 😂😬
Those three remaining cows after witnessing the massacre: 👀 👀 👀
Also do you think incorporating some obsidian (both variants) into the tower would look nice?
Lol
Ohhhh interesting idea! The obsidian might be a little too dark for the tower. But I like where you're thinking, crying obsidian definitely has that 'enchanted' theme to it. Great suggestion!
A dragon on the mountain would be sick.
Woahhh that would be super cool! I've never built a dragon before! Very cool idea, thanks for sharing! 😄
Reminds me a lot of bdub's video-style, very simple yet relaxing. keep it up!
Bdubs has been such an inspiration to me! Thanks for checking out my video
Definitely love the not doing everyhting off cam approach a lot of videos suffer from the oh look what cool stuff i did off camera instesd of showing and giving some context to the process instead of the product.
Exactly, sometimes the videos feel more like a "show and tell" rather than a "lets play" lol. I appreciate the feedback 😄
@@Etat Yes they do or dont i dont know i didn't see. It's Just a show off of the world every time and then they make extra show off videos like they aint been Always doing it 😂😂
What I appreciate more than anything In your videos, is how you explain your process and your logic behind the build choices you make. plus seeing your advice in interior decorating was great, I don't see that often
Thanks! I'm glad you like that part! I feel like a lot of content creators just do a 'show and tell' rather than something more insightful. I appreciate your feedback
@@Etat I get that, and even when I watch videos about building, none do a great job with interior advice. so I'm glad I watch you
such an immersive and intimate watch, congrats!
Thank you so much!
Love the silhouette of the tower, some beautiful B-roll in this video as well!
Ayyy I appreciate it, Cobb! You the man!!! 😄
cant believe you are at almost 200 days. I dont like that in those hardcore videos at 100 days they have like full netherite and a mega base . i love that you take your time whit it and keep it up :)
Lol yea its crazy! I've been enjoying the slow progression. Thanks for watching
I feel like the tower should have a staircase all the way to the top along with windows lining the staircase to take advantage of the amazing view!
Put coarse dirt on the edges of the paths to add more detail
Yessss I love how coarse dirt works so well with paths! Great idea, thanks for watching 😊
Etat!!! Drop another Joy of Building video and my life, is yours!!
😂Idk if its your profile picture or your comments... or a combination of both, but you always make me laugh! I appreciate it, my friend! Gonna get to work on the next video soon! ❤
😊witnessing of your channel grown!!!congrats Etat🎉 road to 10k💪🏻
Thank you so much! It means the world that you've been following and supporting the channel! ❤
@@Etat ☺️
This is so wonderfully calming in a way! I love your building and style of editing. Definitely subscribing and liking :D
edit: Recently i've been having trouble sleeping but i genuinely think your series is gonna help out a LOT.
Aww thank you! I'm glad you're able to chill for a bit while watching, I appreciate ya! ❤
14:30 the music sounds like the main theme of Genshin Impact❓ Anyway, amazing video so cozy and great builds
Hahaha it is! I like to use some of the Genshin soundtrack in my videos lol. I appreciate it
Definite Rapunzel vibes. I'm loving how this series is going!
Hahaha definitely! Thanks for watching ❤
Beautifully done man!
❤ appreciate ya!
When there’s a lot of cows, sometimes baby cows get push up and they escape thanks to the carpet
Ahhhh okay, that makes sense! I was so confused lol, I learned something new today 😄
Bleakmin definetly said something. Listen to it. He said, "Aye," and "Oke"
😂 I need to learn how to speak enderman
beautiful.
❤
Ur channel deserves way more views!!!!
Awww thank you, that means a lot! 😊
Yeey new video!! I'm loving this series, and I have a suggestion what do you think about making a little stable for the donkey?
I appreciate it, Rob! Thats a great suggestion! Maybe next episode or the episode after we can throw together a place for our donkey. Thanks for watching 😊
I feel like for the path between your house and the tower, you could add details like piles of woods (birch and oak), as if clearing up the road also allowed to gain wooden stockpile.
I feel like it would add a bit of lore, especially if later you decide to build stuff that uses these wooden materials to signify that people have built using theses resources, for exemple, an oak and birch house would make sense near the road because the forest contains oak and birch trees.
It's a type of worldbuilding that I'm very fond off, and seeing how creative you are, I feel like it'd be cool to see you build stuff like that.
Ohhh thats a brilliant idea! I love that suggestion! Thank you for sharing! I'll remember that when I work on the path. I appreciate it tons ❤
What resource pack do you use for the clouds? I love how chunky and fluffy they look. Loving this series, I watch as soon as I get the notification which is rare lol
Aww thank you, I really appreciate your support! I use a mod called Better Clouds. It's pretty cool, there's a few settings and you can customize the amount of clouds, the spacing, the height, and you can adjust it all to your liking 😊
@@Etat omg tysm for the quick reply!!
You should make a vineyard. And if you go to the nether, you can use nether wart blocks and put it inside those wooded tubs so that it looks like it's being mashed into "grape juice" the medieval way. Then, the classic tripwire on barrel for storing it, or a custom barrel. You could also build a winery.
Ohhh that sounds fun! Great idea, thanks for sharing! 😄
Another chill video to watch ❤
Appreciate ya for watching! ❤
love it!
Appreciate it! ❤
the tower turned out so beautiful, i love your use of diorite and deepslate together, especially with that purple glass you get such a perfect fantasy look. your diamond tool feeling is so real lol
Thank you, thank you! Exactly, I love that fantasy look! I want to get better at adding color to my builds so I'm glad you liked the purple glass! It's a small hint of color, but I think it ties all together 😊
That irrigation system is so awesome!
Did you ever thought of making building tutorials? But like instead of just showing how to build a specific house you show the fundamentals of building one, like the type of walls you can make the types of roof and like clever tricks patterns etc.
Hmmm I've never thought about doing this type of content, I'm usually dialed in on the 'lets play' style. Maybe in the future we can do something like this! Thanks for the suggestion 😄
Thank you for having an experience that reflects a good play through (relaxing)
Aww I appreciate that, thanks for tuning in! ❤
Reading thru the comments and watching your vids; it is nice to have a relaxing pace and smooth voice for Minecraft survival play, instead of the fast pace SMPs or “I did *X* to my Hardcore World” challenges.
Maybe because I’m old or some secret AMSR trend since 1.21 came out, but there seems to be more enjoyment and richness off of these types of Minecraft play styles.
I enjoy this gem of channel.
Aww I appreciate it! I think its more on par with some of the content we grew up watching. I take a lot of inspiration from my favorite content from the early lets plays. I appreciate the support ❤
What if you had a second set of rails just for a Minecraft chest to send your stuff up faster and be able to bring more materials?
That's genius! I always forget about the minecarts with chests! I ended up making two trips in the mineshaft because I ran out of inventory... this idea would've definitely saved a trip! Thanks for the suggestion! ❤
A fun thing you could add on the path between the house and the tower, could be a tavern where you can brew potions
Hahaha I love that idea! A nice tavern to have a drink while people are on their journey, great suggestion!
Oh, I don't understand how I missed this episode when it came out. 🙈
I love your tower in the clouds. It looks soooo amazing! 🤩I especially like that it is not just a man-made tower from bottom to top, but that the base is a kind of rocky peak. And the positioning is just perfect! 😍
Thank you so much, I'm glad you like the build! 😊
Awesome video, looking into the next one! I especially enjoyed that mining segment with some C418! Also, I did not expect that eerie shot at the end - wonder what that could mean. One thing that came in to my mind while watching your vid was that you could build some sort of a barn or a stable for your donkey and those poor cows. Keep safe bro!
I appreciate it! I'm glad you liked the cinematic mining, its very fun to edit and put together those segments! Will definitely have to build a home for the donkey soon! Thank you, brotha ❤
1:51 SAMEEE BRO!! It feels like a waste of diamonds and time that it takes to mines them
I often enchant iron tools, armor. water elevator in the tower I know they take up space. Man you must have some eyesight how do you work with that crosshair or should I say pixel especially on a bright background.
This man is MrMattRanger copy pasted. Even the same mods. Not a bad thing at all.
MrMattRanger is an amazing builder, I appreciate that! 😊
This is the first video that I have watched and I love the vibe. as a suggestion maybe you could play with basic shaders as the whole experience would be so cozy. anyway still love the video and definitely going to continue watching the series. I really think shaders would improve the overall quality.
Thank you! I do love shaders, I used to only play with shaders for the longest time. But I've also been really liking the more vanilla look too. I appreciate the support! ❤
Hawaiians back in the day used a lot of terrace farming and would use similar water features to this. Ive done a few restorations of these and i would say on a larger scale, you should think about elevation and position of crops. Certain cops dont grow above sea level, and some dont grow below the halfway point of the hill/mountain. Also if you add drip leaf and its varient to a mud pool terrace, it looks like our lo'i patches we use to grow kalo (taro).
Oh wow, that's really cool! I love doing things like that, where you take real life ideas/rules and implement them into minecraft. Like only allowing certain crops to grow at specific elevations and what not. That's really interesting, I'll have to look into adding a lo'i patch! I've never heard of it before but it sounds like a beautiful thing to add to our minecraft world! Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge, I really appreciate it! ❤
So I’m bad at this game but I think maybe an aquarium up one of the tower walls would be awesome if possible?
Yoo, this minecraft series is so cool! What mod did you use for those clouds?
And are the animations a mod or a resource pack?
@@Nully_Searching-02 Thank you, I'm glad you're liking the series! I use Better Clouds mod and the Fresh Animations resource pack. Although, Fresh Animations does require mods to work- Entity Texture Features and Entity Model Features 😄
You can place flower pots, lanterns, and candles on the decorated pots. So it looks like the flower is in bigger pot than the small one, or for some semi-hidden lighting lighting.
Items would just go inside if you place directly on it, so you place it on the wall just above the decor pot, placing it on ‘top’ of the decor pot.
For sure, that's a great idea! 😄
Just came across your channel and I love your video style. It's too often nowadays to have loud, overstimulating Minecraft content. Love the builds, keep going :)
Thanks for checking out the video, I'm happy you like this style! I appreciate your support ❤
@@Etat Of course! :)
Like the builds and the channel, so please don'ttake this the wrong way. There's no way you had all the material in your inventory for the tower not to have to go up and down. How did you go up and down 😅
Hahaha I appreciate it! You're right, I did have to make multiple trips up and down to grab materials and even to sleep lol. Fortunately, I keep a bucket of water in my inventory, and I would just pour water at the top and let it flow down to the bottom. I'd swim down my water, grab materials, swim back up, and then pick my water back up 😄
He's back!!! :DDD
Ayyyyy!!! 😄
I love your gameplay and editing style so much ❤
p.s, could you provide a mod list? I really don’t know how you make your game look so good lol
Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it! ❤
Here's a quick list of the main mods:
-Better Clouds
-Fresh Animations (requires a few mods to work on fabric)
-FogLooksGoodNow
-Freecam
-Replay Mod
-Shadowy Path Blocks
-Sound Physics Remastered
-Zoomify
-Custom Vanilla Tweaks resource pack
Your style of presenting gameplay is unique and awesome I love it, learning some great learning tips from you :)
Aww thank you so much ❤
23:30 Given the subtle horror aspect of this series, I cant help but see that red carpet at the bottom of the tower to be a blood splatter.
i jumped for joy seeing this in my feed LOLOL. i use these videos as company while i draw, its like having a friend with me working on their own art while i work :) using this tower as inspo for a build on a realm for sure. also eerrm what the flip was that last shot? im onto you
That's so wholesome!!! Thats very kind of you to say!!! I appreciate your support on this series, it means the world to me 😊
Bro there are moments in his series just like the last shot where someone is observing him afar in every one of his videos
It is like bro is also giving us lore other than the gameplay
@@felixeliaschacko7710 I WAS GONNA SAY THAT TOOO its so cool. i think another enderman is watching him and stealing his stuff. everythings purple themed through the stained glass and theres already a trapped enderman. plus endermen steal stuff
@@calacalamari3977 I'm already a fan of minecraft arg's and arg's in general so I'm ready to know what more bro has to offer
Might be cool to build a small reservoir near the top of the terraced farms, as a source for the irrigation system. Or maybe a stone well in a wall with a grating underneath & water flowing underneath towards the farm.
I really enjoyed the segment of you explaining the interior decorating with a voiceover. most youtubers struggle to make that aspect engaging and youve really nailed it!
I enjoy how your use of music throughout makes building timelapses/montages feel like a cohesive part of the whole episode instead of a royalty-free dance break(no flack to the big guys i just like how you do it)
also i see you playing 3 dimensional chess with the enchanting table double fake out. the mysterious 3rd party POV watching you mine obsidian, the youtuber voice "guys i really dont know where i put it, what an oopsie" and then you actually did just misplace it off camera. I dont know what kind of "lore" youve got brewing but im fully invested in this ominous vibe alone.
looking forward to the next episode! keep em coming ^.^
Actually im not done gushing. Can I just say how amazing it is that you have such a clear deep understanding and appreciation of the "minecraft lets play" formula. You are actively building on the shoulders of giants with your own unique voice and direction.
So many new minecraft channels are out there chasing trends and i can just FEEL how much you genuinely love minecraft videos! and youre making art out of the video part as much as you are making art out of the minecraft part!
incredible work!
@@catbearcartoonist1384 Awww what the heck, you're gonna make me cry! That's so nice, this comment just made my day!!! I'm glad you're enjoying the series! I'll definitely try to implement more of the voiceovers in the future, thanks for the feedback. I'm gonna go cry while I think about this comment now 😭 thank you so much for the support, it means the world to me ❤❤❤
The BDubs vibes are strong with this one!
He's one of my biggest inspirations! That means a lot ❤
enjoyed the pace of this video and awesome build as well!! Can't wait for more videos :D!!
Thank you for helping fix my attention span and TikTok brain.
😂 thanks for watching!
new sub here!!!!! keep doing your stuff!!
Ayyyy thank you so much!
watching these videos makes me want to play vanilla Minecraft again
The new update came out not too long ago, it would be a great time to hop back on and explore around! Thanks for watching 😊
havent watched it but i can already tell its gonna be a banger
EDIT:
you should fish for books instead of always having to use the enchanting table for every little thing
Ayy I appreciate it! For sure, I definitely want to get into fishing sometime soon! Idk if you're familiar with Grian's approach to mending on the current hermitcraft server, but I really liked the challenge he gave himself. I might try and play around with some ideas like that 😊
@@Etat (kind of) unrelated but thank you for the series recommendation, im actually gonna try doing something similar with my friend since we like to take things slow (our world’s been around for months but we haven’t gotten any diamond tools)
I just found this channel 2 days ago and im already this early!!
Ayyyy early bird! You the man!! 😄
Love your videos! Also, what song was playing around 24:20? It sounds very peaceful :)
Thank you so much! That song is called Dusk in Mondstadt. It's part of the Genshin Impact soundtrack 😊
