      Oh it’s very real, but the SOHC J-Series V6 VTEC was unfortunately never put in a more relatively lightweight compact car like the Civic/Integra/Prelude and switched to DOHC.
      It just genuinely is a tad too slow to react, much like a 90’s big single turbocharged lag car. By the time you get the power that you wanted to safely evade traffic, you’ve already shat your pants because although you didn’t get hit in an accident, within the duration you spent in slow motion time dilation waiting for the car's wheels to react to your foot, your heart has already finished its last prayer. (Just like a 90’s Turbocharger 😭) It is no B-series, K-series, or H-series “you want it? You got it, bitch.” VTEC Brawler

      The transmission feels kinda unresponsive and clunky but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with wear or if that's just mid-2000s autos, otherwise it does the job perfectly fine. I have enjoyed this series for a while now. I also have an opinion to share as far as what I have enjoyed recently, and have not in these past few episodes. The number of wordy tangents per episode has increased to a point where I feel like I learn a very small amount about the car being reviewed. This also causes me to enjoy the tangents less and less. By tangents, I mean by when the focus shifts, it is"diverging from an original purpose or course" (Merriam Webster) which I feel is to review the car. I am also looking for a car right now, and would have enjoyed to learn a bit more about the car from this installment. I love what you guys are creating here on RUclips. Thanks for reading.

      Well you obviously were too impacted by the excessive tangents to see the overall message here. Which if you are looking for a Pilot is...DON'T BUY A PILOT. It's just another weekend warrior box that's acceptable at many things but exceptional at none.
      That V6 doesn't have the real grunt to play with the serious players of the pickup/SUV market. Locking diffs, an automatic, and an as near as makes no difference curb weight of forty-five hundred pounds means you aren't getting a Civic Si with ground clearance and four wheel drive. It's no looker, and while Honda reliability is nice and I personally think their cars are better than Toyota's; a good used 4Runner or Land Cruiser would crush this thing in virtually every way.
      It's like the automotive equivalent of plain white rice. It's easy and dependable and it'll fill you up but no one is going to mistake you for a foodie and there's no real experience to be had there...

    I enjoyed the video as good entertainment.
    However, as an owner of all kinds of Honda cars and SUV's over the last several decades, I disagree with almost everything you said except the Dad Jokes.
    Like most of the Honda's out there, the Pilot is an extremely reliable vehicle that lasts for hundreds of thousands of miles. They probably take more abuse than the super-expensive blinged-out macho SUV's that rarely get their tires dirty.

    Pilots are freaking awesome, idk wtf your talking about!!! Especially the 2010, the body style is great, tons of room while not being a minivan. So what you can't roast the tires off the rims!!! It still has plenty of get up, plenty of passing power on the highway, and if you treat it right and use it how its supposed to be used it will last well past 200k.

    • @Rohkii
      @Rohkii 10 лет назад +4

      Lots of pilot owners swap bigger front calipers and drilled and slotted rotors onto them because they tend to overheat and warp easy. The last two pilots my family had with their stock brakes felt awful on deceleration to a stop, fixed by different rotors.

      Automatics don't do as well with engine braking as manuals do. Torque converters are designed to send transmit power from the engine to the driveline, not the other way around.
