- M35A2 (and other Military Vehicle) Air Governor Adjustment
Hello and best wishes!
My 1968 truck has the old style air governor.
If you have an old truck there is a chance you have this one also.
Note there are likely many different air governors that were used, but I think most 1950 and newer military trucks have the old or new style mentioned here.
My truck would maintain pressure at about 80 psi and I was curious if bumping it up a bit would help with braking.
So, I turned it up to just over 100psi per the old style governor instructions.
I also found that adjusting it any lower than 80psi (just a tad from where mine was when I got it) made it short cycle and generally act up, so I think t was set right at the lowest pressure without misbehaving.
I'll give it a spin soon (after I adjust the brakes as I do it every Summer) and see how it behaves.
Please refer to the proper tech manual for reference!
