If I remember correctly, you can also use the Chao Key glitch to access to other stages. You had to play multiplayer, set the number of battles to 3 and then proceed to win, after that you do the glitch and it transports you to the last played stage in multiplayer, I used to do that a lot on the GameCube version with the Crazy Gadget key There was also a way for it to transport you to Finalhazard but that I don't remember
Wait, what? This is the first time I've heard of it! Hm, if this is true, then the that Final Hazard warp probably happens after doing an all-story boss rush (Which means the Shadow and Sonic Space boss fights should be accessible too with the dark and hero boss rushes).
The 4 minute dialog in crazy gadget is actually eggman saying "If you don't hurry up, she will die". The audio you played actually happens every time you reach that room in story mode.
5:52 You might be the first SA2 facts video I've seen to at least acknowledge that the "refection of" definition of Terios is unsourced. Everyone else just repeats that line, but never elaborates from which language. I think it's similar to the Mr. Needlemouse situation. A common misconception within the English fandom that went unquestioned for many years.
@@nightlydata2181Yeah,kinda like how echidna in Japanese is “harimogura” which is the combination of Hari (needle) and mogura (mole) So in reality his name would’ve been “Mr Hedgehog”
@@nightlydata2181 "ハリネズミ" (harinezumi) is a compound word that just translates to "hedgehog". "Hari" and "nezumi" individually translate to needle and mouse, respectively, but "Needlemouse" is a (willfully) overly literal translation. The reason "Mr. Needlemouse" was finally debunked was because Sega JP had an online quiz that listed "Mr. ニードルモウス" (Needlemouse) in katakana as the "correct" answer to a question about Sonic's prototype name. Meanwhile, the original concept art cited as the origin of the Needlemouse name has "Mr.ハリネズミ" written clearly in katakana staring everyone in the face. Needlemouse was never meant to be a real name, it was someone else's poor English translation of the Japanese word for hedgehog. But I only brought up the Needlemouse debacle because, even though they're different contexts, (Terios has always been confirmed as a real early name for Shadow), I thought it was an interesting meta connection between Sonic and Shadow.
@@hedgehogdilemma1863 I know Y u brought it up but wut I said is still true. Obviously the series doesn't refer to them in jp but that's wut the literal translation is. that's my point
I remember being able to drown as Tails in the Chao Garden, but I've always wondered why they added a drowning animation for him despite none of his levels having Water, or him being able to leave his Mech at all. That always gets me thinking about the fact that only Knuckles and Rouge every interact with water in this game, and if Sonic had water in his stages, would he get a drowning animation too?
Sonic Adventure 2 is such a weird game. The last Sonic game on a SEGA console, and a sequel to the ever-beloved Sonic Adventure. However, SA2 has faced much more debate over if the game is truely “good” or not. I don’t like the game personally, but I like to see how the game was developed and its history, to better try to understand the game and love this game like how some fans do. I hope that some day, I truely will learn to love SA2. Your videos are a stepping stone to finding that love. Thank you for another amazing video!
@@joshshrum2764 sorry to break this to you, but no one gives a shit about your childhood. if you like it, sure, no need to be a prick to people who dont, though.
Great video as usual. I was wondering if you’ve been thinking about making a video about Frontiers,I noticed that there aren’t a lot of videos about its beta content or its development.
And sa2 is still a great game even today, I’m glad you covered every contents of this game and it’s really fun watching them, keep up the good work for more sonic contents 👍🏻
13:33 you know Cifesk this is also happened to Sonic and Shadow having thier Own Drowning animations like Rouge and Knuckles when you Managed to Hacked the Game to Play Sonic and Shadow in Aquatic Mine Zone
3:37 Please don't use "prequel" like that, it's wrong. A more appropriate word here is predecessor. A prequel is a "pre-sequel", i.e. a sequel with a story that chronologically takes place before that of its predecessor. Since Sonic 1 is not a sequel to Sonic 2, it cannot be its "prequel". Apart from that, great video as usual!
Nice video! Regarding the Debug Room wrong warp, the Tails and Knuckles versions only work on steam and only if you have the right resolution (16:9?) Also Shadow has one similar to Sonic's, but on White Jungle. However, the checkpoint isn't near the chao create, so its a rush to get there in time. I think Eggman had one too, but I forget the details.
38 is a number that commonly shows up in the samba de amigo series. In japanese 3 can be read as san and i believe 8 can rarely be read as ba, which creates the wordplay "sanba"
11:54 This is false, I tested the game on a burned CD and this never occurred. I believe what happened in this footage is either a damaged disc or corrupted sector. The game itself has no GD rom checks.
Depends where your cdi came from. Maybe it was patched to fix this bug. I think its happened too many times to too many people for it to be a scratched disc
This isn't fake. This happened to me as a kid and I never knew why. Wasn't until years later I released it was a piracy thing. But it turns out the only reason I brought SA2 Battle was because I wanted to get passed this bit and finish the story.
@SonicSorey I'm guessing it could be the way the game was patched to a CD-R was faulty, as there are filesize limits and things could have been compressed to fit onto the disc incorrectly causing this collision bug. There's a video on GVG about how games needed to be compressed to fit into standard issue CD-Rs. The game itself doesn't actually perform any anti piracy checks.
Not to nitpick, but you confused me and probably others when the Stage select segment had Trivia written while the segment was about development. I'd suggest to review your video before uploading, since I see that you can make mistakes every video.
