How to install Apple CarPlay on your Mercedes Benz! (C-Class w204 2008-2010)

- Hey everyone!
In this episode, we'll be installing Apple CarPlay into your Mercedes-Benz!
In this one, we'll be doing it to a 2009 C-Class w204 Pre-Facelifted model.
This will be the same process for any C-Class from 2008-2010.
C63 AMG, C350, C300, C250, and so on...
To install Apple CarPlay, we'll be swapping out the old unit, to an updated Touch Screen that runs on Android software so that you'll be able to use android apps.
When you connect your iPhone via Bluetooth to the installed unit, you'll have Apple CarPlay wirelessly!
Please be sure to watch the entire video before attempting to install this yourself.
I definitely recommend getting professional help to install this if you're not comfortable working on your own car.

We had this installed on our 2008 c class, everything works fine except during phone calls over CarPlay there is huge background noise compared to the MB Bluetooth. My understanding is the device uses the cars native mic. Any way to solve this issue?
Where did you get the box that connects the display port to the new system?
id love to see you do a steering wheel upgrade, the 08-10 steering wheels are so ugly compared to the rest of the w204 wheels

cables....there is one for permanent current and another for ignition ...red and yellow cables..

Hi Rich, i just bought a 09 c350 with one of these screens installed but i cant seem to get the Carplay to work. When i click the carplay button is says "Please insert the product" Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hello, I have saved this video a few months ago for reference when I install my own unit which happened today. Helped me a lot by the way. I only have one issue. I can’t push my radio unit back because of the wire’s especially that big square block that is in the way. Any suggestions to get my radio unit back in place. Thank you very much.
Glad this video can be of some help! It was difficult for me to jam it in there too but you just have to keep moving the large black wire until everything fits unfortunately. Hope this helps!
I guess that’s why they took the glove box out, so that they could put the box and the excess USB wires their.
Same issue I'm currently having, there's barely even any space in there to fit these extra cables... Do you guys have any tips?

@@Lucas-dz4ye I had to keep fiddling with the wires and jamming it in until it all fitted. I also unplugged a few harnesses, pushed them as far as possible into the tight crevices, and then reconnected. All I can say is that you just gotta keep trying until it fits, but don’t force it cuz you might end up damaging some wires.
Ironically the head unit only took like 30 mins to install, but 2-3 hours trying to put that damn stock radio back in… what a poor design lol.

Tried installing this today. But have two problems.
1) icons on screen keep flickering constantly.
2) I’m seeing overlapping screens.
Seeing the new main screen. But in the background faintly is the old original screen.
Do you have any ideas ?
I had flickering issue with my xtrons screen but tried 3 different mcu upgrades and last one fixed that flickering. Fuck it was annoying as shit.

I’ve been looking at doing this to my car for a while. The only problem I have is with my auxiliary port. Everything I use with the aux is really low output compared to the cd and radio and memory card on the head unit. When you use the CD player after you’ve installed the new screen does everything play through the auxiliary or does everything else still play through the head unit.
I have the same problem with my aux output sound being super low even when max volume on my phone then the radio is 100x louder, I’m still trying to search for a fix online
@@canabish9333 the only thing I’ve found is a FM transmitter there really cheap and when connected to my phone or anything Bluetooth its the same volume as everything else. All these screen look better and have more up to date options but they all work through the aux input.

Yes it should depending on the year. The issue is the mount. I’m looking into getting the proper mounts and hopefully do an update video soon

Yea I’m curious to know aswell tbh. It’s quite important to me to have that but in my older system, it doesn’t have it so I’ve just ordered one of these.

Hopefully works well !! It’s cheap and works with your phone through Bluetooth.
AUX highest volume level is way to low compared to the CD or radio volume levels. Any way to fix that?
Try another phone guaranteed it’ll be louder
Are you using iPhone? If so, go to Settings > Sound & Haptic > Headphone Safety and turn off "Reduce Loud Sound".
Can you get Netflix on it?
Hi. I have the same car and I got the same screen, so I installed it and I can’t connect the radio into the android screen. It show no signal.

Hey Tomas! Did you purchase from the guys at clubluco? So there's no FM or AM radio at all? Would you be able to check on the wires and see if you connected everything? Even if one step gets missed, it could throw off that error
I got it from ugode-media 8 from China.
So I connected everything right like the diagram show, no I can’t get FM or AM, I can turn on the OEM radio, but it won’t show on the android screen, it’s just show no signal.
I even removed everything back to doble check and for me everything is connected right.
No one actually shows how the radio cable should be routed.... I keep having a 3/8 gap around the radio face

it should, it’s still a W204
It looks a bit too big for the car, a smaller one should look more natural for the w204
Hi, I have a question, I have this screen for a year, but I have not connected these two orange cables, maybe you know what they are for, because I have a problem with gps when I connect this small box, sometimes my gps signal disappears, and so I thought maybe these orange cables what you translated are responsible for it, if you know something, give me an answer. How did you get the screen to mount ?
When you buy this screen it comes with the mount, fits where your old one goes and sticks out so it looks great
Quick question my man. If i split screen spotify with waze, does the wheel knob work on changing the song? Or will it switch from app to app and it will eventually work if you primarily have spotify selected on the screen when turning the knob? Or it doesn’t work antything like that?
Other videos show that the two arrows, left and right besides volume button, doesnt work on spotify so im confused now.

No problem man and glad to help! I’ll post a follow up video soon showing its functions in more depth but basically the wheel near your arm rest would let you go through the different icons displayed on the screen
The wheel knob wont change the song unless you cycle to the skip button section and click on the knob.

You doesnt have to do this at all. You just put an android phone(tablet) holder over the existing radio display cap.The job is done. You doesnt have to do this because u can make some ither dammahes on electronics!

Doesn’t fit the original design of the car at all.
Remove the 2 rubber stoppers and use a thin hook tool to remove the air vents much easier and less chance of damage
