As if most steel types aren't 2HKOd by flamethrower or fire blast (since it gets nasty plot a +2 one might even be OHKO). Yes heatran and toxapex are annoying but I don't need this specifically for them.
Look, I know everybody’s heard horror stories of groups of fans doing immoral and sometimes illegal things, or just starting civil wars or whatever, but these fans are always either individuals or small organized cliques of radicals that don’t represent the whole fandom. Every time such a story surfaces, the actions of the vocal minority are condemned by the 99% of good fans. (And by the way, arguing doesn’t make a fandom toxic. Arguing is healthy if handled well. If it isn’t handled well and emotions are taken too far, refer back to what I said about radical fans). Every fandom has a vocal minority, even if they don’t make headlines. You’re more likely to hear such stories from bigger communities, but the ratio of “crazy” to “normal” is the same across fandoms as per a statistical phenomenon called the Law of Large Numbers. People hate fandoms all the time, even though they most likely engage in fandoms themselves. Liking something makes you part of that fandom. And before you push up your anime glasses and tell me that “actually, fandom is short for ‘fanatic domain’ and I am a NORMAL fan, not a crazy fanatic”, may I remind you that denotation does not equal connotation, so while “fanatic” brings to mind images of crazy devotion, it’s just the long word for “fan”. Fan is short for fanatic (as per Oxford Dictionary, or Merriam-Webster, I don’t recall), like how rap is an acronym for “rhythm and poetry” but has become its own word. Also, a domain is just a group in the broadest possible sense, accurately capturing how large and diverse fandoms are. Therefore, a fandom is just all the fans of a specific thing. Your level of engagement in a fandom doesn’t determine how much of a fan you are. Fanartists depend on casuals who view their art, for instance. The masses are just as important as the creators. By hating fandoms, you’re also hating on people who have genuinely been helped by finding a sense of community by connecting with like-minded people. Fandoms don’t ruin things for you if you find the right people in said fandom to interact with. With bigger fandoms especially, it’s not hard. I get that negativity is stronger than positivity, but you’ve got to fight that internal conflict for your own good. It’s your fault that vocal minorities of weird fans are never recognized as such, and are instead chalked up to the whole group. Furthermore, if you say that you like x but hate x fandom, you’re hating yourself too. Remember, you’re technically still part of the fandom, and there’s no rules for how much to have to engage with other people in order to be a fan. I know it’s a popular thing on the internet, but homicidal self-deprecation is unhealthy. It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to say “I’m one of the good fans”, people calling your fandom toxic will still not accept you. And I don’t want to hear “lol triggered” if you were triggered enough to respond.
@@diamondminer5459 First of all, thanks for the Ted Talk, it really is nice you took your time to make that reply to change a commenter’s mind, but what I meant was to point out an example, in general, a big part of fandoms are toxic, and there are some examples and some communities are healthier than others (by very little lol), but I gave League of Legends there as en example, it’s a notable example of hardcore players playing a game together, which can often turn into something competitive and hands down hard to be in, I can’t assume a big part of it because I’m not from the League of Legends fandom; but I assume that there are still a big part of players that play casually and are able to have fun doing so. So for that, I’m just here to tell you it was an example, I could’ve put the Pokémon Trading Card game for example! So, I’m here to clear that up.
New video idea: a thought experiment on what would happen if pokerus broke the species barrier and infected humans Could even consider it as a post game story for your fakemon region
For all intents and purposes, Pokèrus would possibly lead to a sort of evolution gate. Alternately provide a true means of curing major diseases that otherwise can't be as it gives the infected, and those around it that it manages to jump to, a boost in growth/health. It IS a really interesting idea worth exploring. Curious to see what his take on it would be.
In the Kanto Games, Koga states that the move Toxic was a technique passed down by his family for 400 years. Perhaps it being a ninja technique was Gamefreak's intention for it being so learnable in gen 1
So that would likely mean Koga's family is the one who makes at the very least the Toxic TMs we see in the games, and they have made it in a way that almost every know Pokemon can learn it, except the gimmick Pokemon which whole point are they can't learn anything besides these gimmick move, maybe from natural evolution and having survived with only the gimmick moves it has for for generations, they don't want to learn any other move since it has worked for them for so long they completely trust there moveset to only wanting to know those moves only, and with Magearna being like a philosophers stone, with her core being made out of pure infinity energy, and her being made from metal which is immune to poison in general for most instances, and being completely inorganic, so she doesn't make her own bacteria, and the ones who get on her are killed by her core too fast to learn the tm Toxic at all regardless of Koga's family attempts. Regardless of all that if Koga's Family has been passing it down, the ones they made for the Sinnoh remakes region are either all faulty or they scammed Sinnoh when they sold them the TM's since most Pokemon in gen 1-4 in the remakes can't learn Toxic from TM anylonger.

Something I'd really love to see you do is a series where you explain type effectiveness. Like why certain types are super effective, why certain types aren't effective or immune. I think a lot of them are super straightforward but there's a lot of weird ones that I'd love to see you guys explain. (psychic and poison comes to mind)
Psychic being effective against Poison comes from the "mind over matter" gimmick. Like, a focused monk being able to overcome being poisoned from sheer will alone. Or it could be a pun on "words can never hurt me" since someone who spits poison or say venomous words wouldn't effect someone with a strong mind. Either way I always thought it was the other way around and kept getting my ass kicked lmao ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think Margearna may also not learn toxic because (it is said) that she may pull inspirations from the philosopher stone. this video was super cool. aside from the fakemon stuff, my favorite videos of yours are the ones where you use pokemon to trick me into learning something i wouldn't have known otherwise.
This was a really cool video! it's always fascinating to learn about things that are described way to vaguely like what is a poison. Have heard about the Women nurse changing healthcare before; the easiest thing for me to remember from that bit of history is how so many doctors(who were pretty much only men at the time) claimed that a gentleman's hands could never be dirty and one even refused to wash his hands for anything. Thank you again for amazing, funnily edited and informative video. ^w^ Also as a side note, I have no idea why but pocket Skitty and Delcatty are like happyness juice for my melancholic, tired brain. Just a little extra cuteness shot when ever I notice them through out the video peeking from chest pocket. So thank you for that little extra effort you did making this video. Highly appreciated.
It can learn perfect coverage for any situation, has amazing stats, great pivoting and utility, every set up move it needs + Stored Power, it's good in trick room, best defensive typing in the game, and an ability that gives it +1 if another pokemon faints for ANY reason... Good thing it can't use Toxic bc that would just be too much
Maybe it's a combination of being inorganic and a healer. It was made with very specific elements (most likely non-toxic) where as the organic healers can still have bacteria and germs on them. Also, many types of medicines can be deadly when they are not administratored as a specific dosage. As an automaton Magearna was probably programed specifically unable to administrator incorrect dosages. The other Pokemon probably have more free will in a way and could Poison someone if they wanted or were ordered to.
@@rockinrootbeer1795 Good point actually, in fact Chansey even has a toxin she could easily deliver, Botulism, just gotta let one of them eggs go bad XD
I’m still trying to wrap my head around the point where I blinked and Skitty turned into Delcatty in your pocket. Lol but I didn’t actually know that stat about Toxic and Pokemon. That’s really cool! Thanks for imparting your wisdom.
I would think, for example, Palkia can learn one means it can make a Space around someone being impossible to live within by changing its attributes so the Space around a foe would become toxic.
Technically Smeargle can learn Poison by using Sketch and getting attacked by the move Poison right away :D But anyway I love your videos, man! They are always so informative and interesting :D And I don't think you are toxic, I happen to like your sarcastic, darkish humor very much :)
Death Battle showed the Poison Water in the Charizard vs Blastoise vs Venusaur video. That's why I still get PTSD from seeing the animation of Hydro Pump
This video was full of amazing and very interesting facts as always, but I'm not how I feel about these explanation being to justify why every pokemon would be capable of delivering "excessive poison" to each other. Maybe regular poison.
One of my favorite Pokémon Tumblr posts (more or less paraphrased): "Is is cheating to teach toxic to every Pokémon in my team?" "Not at all, I'd love to hear them sing it!"
Not to get WELLAKSHULLY about the bullet thing, but introducing a bullet to a body doesn't harm you, it's the speed at which the bullet is introduced to your body. Hell if you took *any* object and gave it insanely fast speeds, it would definitely cause illness or death to an organism, either by ripping through you, slamming into you so hard that your bones would break, or you'd get launched and the force of gravity could injure or kill you. I do agree the definition was open-ended and dumb though for sure. It makes *literally any object* a "poison" in that sense.
To answer 10:04, I think the bacteria are source from one area almost all Pokemon have - their fecal matter. I remember one Gaijin Goomba video in how ninjas coat poo all over the spikes they've set up and hidden to infect the wounds of their trapped enemies.

"I don't need your sass - but I do want your comments!" What a great line 🤣 this whole video was very interesting! Thank you so much for sharing!
V tuber lockstin is what I live for.
Thank you again for amazing, funnily edited and informative video. ^w^
Also as a side note, I have no idea why but pocket Skitty and Delcatty are like happyness juice for my melancholic, tired brain. Just a little extra cuteness shot when ever I notice them through out the video peeking from chest pocket. So thank you for that little extra effort you did making this video. Highly appreciated.
But then why doesn't bite cause badly poisoned?
Lol it's fine good video.
9:29 OMG, that hilarious screaming fading in lol
The reason Magearna cant learn Toxic is because it would be too broken in competitive
It can learn perfect coverage for any situation, has amazing stats, great pivoting and utility, every set up move it needs + Stored Power, it's good in trick room, best defensive typing in the game, and an ability that gives it +1 if another pokemon faints for ANY reason...
Good thing it can't use Toxic bc that would just be too much
@@mr.sandman7339 yeah Magearna just got banned
I don’t think it would really matter, it’s not like Magearna really needs it anyway.
Really good video!! I never thought about it in this way
So Magearna doesn't learn Toxic because it's a Nurse...
So then why do Chansey and Audino still learn the move?
Lockstin: says magical healing spit
Me: *immediately thinks of magic death spit*
Who kinda got jump scared by the “venomous bacteria”
I did
I’m still trying to wrap my head around the point where I blinked and Skitty turned into Delcatty in your pocket. Lol but I didn’t actually know that stat about Toxic and Pokemon. That’s really cool! Thanks for imparting your wisdom.
Last time I was this early, my starter was rowlet
Are you telling us you've already played Legends: Arceus? 🤔
1:31 why did he change it...
I'm getting married!
*Uses Toxic*
The meaning of marriage is so deeply rooted in patriarchy and gender inequality that-
Marriage is fine. Divorce is where sexism is at. I hope alimony and no-fault divorce will cease to exist
14:17 yeah I was saying that but then I realised Audino is fashioned after a nurse and it can learn toxic
I would think, for example, Palkia can learn one means it can make a Space around someone being impossible to live within by changing its attributes so the Space around a foe would become toxic.
i love this video it has an extra chaotic vibe
Technically Smeargle can learn Poison by using Sketch and getting attacked by the move Poison right away :D
But anyway I love your videos, man!
Extremely insightful and fun as usual!
This video was full of amazing and very interesting facts as always, but I'm not how I feel about these explanation being to justify why every pokemon would be capable of delivering "excessive poison" to each other. Maybe regular poison.
0:05 Baby can't you see I'm calling?
One of my favorite Pokémon Tumblr posts (more or less paraphrased):
"Is is cheating to teach toxic to every Pokémon in my team?"
"Not at all, I'd love to hear them sing it!"
That nurse story was wonderful, I always enjoy learning new stuff thanks to a "silly" Pokémon video.
Lockstin, that projector in the back is so fireeeee
