I started vaping and smoking since my teenage. Got addicted to cigarettes. Spent my whole life fighting Cigarettes addiction. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Cigarettes addiction actually destroyed my life. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.
I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I want to become a mycologist because honestly mushrooms are the best form of medicine (most especially the psychedelic ones) There are so many people today used magic mushrooms to ween off of SSRI medication- its amazing! Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death buddy, lets be honest here.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Australia don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏
YES sure of mycologist Predroshrooms. I have the same experience with anxiety, addiction. Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Thanks for sharing your story. That's rough I sympathize. Save your health save your mind. Life is better without heroin, cocaine, alcohol and cigarettes. And you have more money in your pocket. God bless everyone who has rejected the devils intentions to be addicted to alcohol and cigarettes etc which can cause so much damage to health. I will pray for you all.
I love your no BS approach Ken!!! I smoked a pack a day for 20 years and quit last year with vaping. Between quitting smoking and losing 100 lbs in the last year with keto, I have never felt so great.
there are allot of fat fucks like u and me changing there lives with keto. Without knowing about keto these people would of probably never lost the weight. still eating a full pizza everyday.
This is a fake comment. There's so much propaganda about vaping being 95% safer when that percentage is not based on a long term study. The news is reporting fake news to give independent vape retailers a bad name so the corporations can come in and take over with safer products. Vape is not safe. Its causes a higher nicotine dependency that regular cigarettes and is very difficult to quit. The goal is to fade out all tobacco and the replace with vape so there has been alot of propaganda around it being safer when there has been no long term studies, that should raise alarm bells but peoples are so addicted to nicotine that won't admit it. These comments that you see saying I smoked for years and now i feel better are fake comments. These are people hired by a third party in relation to vape companies to brainwash you.
I broke a 35 year, 1 1/2 pack a day, going to be on oxygen within the year habit with vaping, i havent had a cigarette in 5 years and have went from 18 mg nic to 3mg and getting ready to go 0mg and then no vape
Tonya Mulitalo, try mixing the 3mg and 0mg (half and half) to step down. When I stepped down from the 3mg, I found I unconsciously vaped more, but taking the extra step of mixing really helped. Best Wishes ❤️
Tonya Mulitalo 18?! Holy crap! I smoked full strength cigarettes for 20 years and i started at 9! Took me 6 months to get to 0... granted i could have gone slower but it went great.
dragonxx444 yeah I was bad, and i started out with the cartridge pens then e3's then different tanks till i finally got thexright setup that made vaping better than smoking, if your using a bad or beginner setup you can kinda have to use the high nic, thats why i tell everyone to just go straight to a good tank and a mod, it's like the cost of 2 cartons but well worth it
Bingo! I've been telling people that for sometime. I see too many people try vaping and by the cheapest thing they can get only to be dissatisfied and go back to smoking.
I smoked for 33yrs and quit after I started vaping. I started next to the highest mg, but worked my way down to no nicotine after a year. Smoke free for 7 1/2 yrs now.. :)
Smoked for 30 years and tried to quit multiple times, was horribly ineffective every time....till I started vaping. Been over a year now since I had any tobacco product. Back to running and biking, can walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath and I smell much better. Thank God for the vaping. Probably the only way I was ever quitting cigarettes.
Vaping has saved my life. After losing my husband I was smoking a stupid amount. I attended NHS Stop Smoking Clinics but they didn’t help. I tried vaping and now I loathe the smell and sight of cigarettes. I have to confess that after 10 years I continue to vape. I recently went through a battery of blood, X-Rays, ECG, and a lung function test. These were precautionary tests in relation to my starting a new, for me drug which carries the risk of side effects. The results were all good.
Agree 100% and so glad you posted this. I'm a dentist and I've been trying to get my smoking patients to move down to vaping. I always knew of the health detriments of smoking--and assumed whatever poor teeth they had was an indirect result of that. But I read Gary Taubes's book on sugar, and I discovered something I never knew: Cigarette tobacco is compounded with sugar! So in addition to all the toxins, you're being bombarded with sugar. And so it directly destroys the teeth. That makes switching to vaping even more of an important step toward ultimately quitting the habit. Of course, the government considers vaping as bad as smoking--that's so they can control and mandate. And the media and mainstream medicine tell you it's just as bad--that's to scare you and keep you addicted to cigarettes and sick to support the massive trillion dollar healthcare industry.
The government wants smokers so that they die before retirement to keep their money. ALSO, tobacco is taxed 5x. Taxed from the tobacco farmer to the cigarette manufacturer to the wholesaler to the retailer to the customer.
Yessss, Dr. Berry! When I saw this pop up I thought, "Ohhhh boy am I gonna have to stop following him?" I stopped smoking with vaping 7 years ago after smoking 2 packs a day for about 24 years. I then worked my way down to 0mg nicotine and quit vaping. I fully believe vaping saved my life. My mom also quit with vaping after smoking for 25 years and my dad quit smoking after 50 years with vaping!! Vaping saved my family!!!
Dr Berry I work in the FDA regulatory world and have spent a lot of time on this since vaping became a regulated product. I don't want to pretend I am an expert but I have learned a lot. I have followed you for sometime and this surprised me. You could not have nailed this down more accurately and efficiently. Vaping is harm reduction without question. Great job I will be sharing
KenDBerryMD I need to correct one thing. Vape juice doesn't have water. It may grab a bit from the air, but it hasn't been added to it for many years. Another thing you may not be aware of, vaping is 4-5 times more effective than the patch, gum, pills, and all combined.
Matthew Hanna PG was added to antifreeze ro make it safe in case pets drank it. That's like avoiding salt because it has lethal chlorine in it. PG is also in asthma inhalers, and well as 1000's of other products. Vaping as now shown in 10 year studies shows no long term effects. Its 95% safer according to royal college.
i'm pretty sure vaping doesn't effect keto because i've been on keto and vaping for 3 months last 60lbs without working out. people would of at least posted shit about staying away from vaping on keto.
I stopped smoking 7 years ago thanks to vaping. I tried it when it first came out and it took me exactly 1 week to quit cigarettes. I slowly cut down on the mg of nicotine and after 3 years I was vaping at 0mg nicotine, I was vaping out of habit. It took another 6 months to stop vaping but I haven't had a cigarette or vaped in several years now. It was a drawn out process but then again, I smoked for over 40 years! I tried everything on the market to quit, including Chantix. Nothing worked until I tried vaping and because of this I recommend vaping to anyone trying to quit cigarettes!!! Good luck everybody and happy vaping!
Listen to me everyone that is a CURRENT SMOKER.this man is a 100%on point by saying that vaping CAN and if you are really ready and tired of being on the SMOKING ROLLERCOASTER YOU CAN DO IT!!!! I SMOKED FOR 20 YEAR ANY TYPE OF CIGARETTE OR CIGAR THAT WAS AROUND ME AND VAPING SAVED ME 4 YEARS AGO.Thanks Doctor for this great video that is very dear to my heart!!!!
The problem is most doctors are not informed and discourage a smoker to use a vape to quit smoking. I can say vaping doesn’t harm me as much because I don’t have any issues with breathlessness . Smoking cigarettes eventually will cause that out of breath problem.
I started vaping 5 years ago and was able to finally break a 20 year smoking addiction. I feel SO MUCH healthier now. Lost my smokers' cough, and can do things without getting winded. That along with Keto and I feel like I am in my 20s again.
Thank you for putting this out there! I smoked for over 40 years and was smoking 4 packs a day toward the end. I picked up an ecig at the mall in 2008 and actually enjoyed it so I learned all I could, I started making my own ejuice from vegetable glycerin and tested flavors and also pur clean nicotine and got into mod building. Anyway, I quit smoking, kept lowering my nic level till it was zero and continued vaping for about a year before I set it down one day and never picked it up again.I NEVER had any intentions of quitting my nasty smoking habit but I did it with very little effort ( maybe because the whole thing was intresting to me ) I;ve been free of all those habits now for several years, now I just have to work on no cursing and snacking lol :-)
Thank you SOOOO much for this video! I used vaping products to kick a 20+ year habit! I feel better than I've felt in years :) I appreciate you bringing some light to this controversial subject. Our medical community would do well to follow your lead.
After smoking for 20 years, I found vaping in 2016 and i feel it saved my life! Also there are many studies like the Royal college of physicians that concluded Vaping is 95% safer than smoking cigarettes
I went for an X-ray before I quit smoking. Dr told me that my lungs were severely damaged. I switched to vaping. After two years I went for another X-ray. It came back that my lungs were 18 % healed compared to my previous X-ray. I would like to add a few more things. It’s not just the hand to mouth habit that smokers crave. It’s also the deep inhaling and the throat hit that smokers crave. 2nd added point- as you vape your body gradually decreases the amount of nicotine you need and you may start feeling side affects of too much nicotine and you are forced to lower your nicotine. Smoke free for 3 years now!
Vaping is what got my husband to quit after 20 years! He slowly lowered his nicotine and now he's free of it all! None of those patches or prescription drugs (FDA approved crap ) compare to vaping! Thank you so much for this video, I hope it goes viral!
Vaping saved me from smoking. At the beginning, people would try and scare me away from it, and I would go back to cigarettes every time. I have learned that if I must have a vice, vaping is the better choice. (I have also been followed by a cardiac rehabilitation team for several years, so I have the data to back up the choice that I made)
I was a smoker for over 30 years- and smoked 2 packs a day in the past 10 years- Vaping helped me stop- I feel so much healthier and the transition was painless- I strongly recommend any smoker to try it
I smoked for 30 yrs. My husband, 2 daughters and I all started vaping. One daughter, her boyfriend, his parents and brother also started vaping. Out of the 8 of us only one went back to smoking. 3 quit both(smoking and vaping. I am one of those)after just a few months. And 4 still vape. All are down to 3 mg of nicotine. I personally feel like it was a great way to quit smoking. All of us but one has been cigarette free for 3 yrs.
5 year Vaper here. Smoking is burning tobacco, also called pyrolization. It creates thousands of carcinogens. Vaping is heated aerosolization without carcinogens. Still not good but much much better, and nicotine isn't the problem it's the carcinogens from the process of pyrolization of tobacco that causes the Ill effects. I used to own a vape store, have seen thousands of quitters because of vaping. INNOKIN products are the best and vape the cleanest, they use organic cotton in their wicks and are very efficient. I do not own or am not affiliated with the brand, just would like to guide people in the right direction. Theres a lot of junk around and innokin was among the first to pony up the cash to have their products certified under the new laws taking effect soon. I dont own the vape store anymore either, just a loyal subscriber with .02 cents to help my fellow humans out with. Thank you for this video, Dr!
Full disclosure. I am a Vape Shop owner and a former 27 year smoker that turned to an e-cig almost 5 years ago (Sept 9, 2013) and quit smoking that first day. What moved me to enter this industry Feb 12, 2014, is the success I had in quitting cigarettes after trying cold turkey, patches, gum, and Chantix, and due to limited availability of E-Cigs where I live, I wanted to be able to share my success with those looking to quit cigarettes who had no luck with optional methods. I have many customers who have successfully transitioned from cigarettes to an e-cig, with many who have completely stopped both. Interestingly, I have also had customers who want something to curb constantly eating sweets that have found vaping flavors satisfied that sweet tooth without putting a bunch of empty and unnecessary carbs in their bodies. Many of them buy no nicotine liquids. For those that ask about kids Vaping, I cannot speak to those under 18 but for those that come into my shop who are of legal age looking for their first Vape, 84% of them (and I keep track), buy liquids with no nicotine. My shop policy is to discourage starting vaping if they are not a smoker but in the end, it is the customers choice. For many of them it's a fad, based on the extremely low return rate. One thing I am extremely concerned about is the perception being pushed by anti-tobacco groups that e-cig use by kids is a gateway to smoking regular cigarettes. From surveys I have conducted, not 1 person is willing to give up vaping fruit, candy, or dessert flavors for the taste of a burning leaf. I am extremely confident that vaping is a much better alternative to cigarettes.
My adult daughter hid her smoking from me and when I eventually found out, I cried for 2 days. I told her all I wanted for Mother’s Day was for her to quit smoking. She got a vape and quit the cigarettes! She still vapes occasionally but with no nicotine!
i just passed my 10 YR anniversary of quitting smoking by vaping. this video is the truth! i am now down to 1 mg vape liquid and am happier and far more healthy feeling than i ever was for the 41 yrs i smoked. new subscriber.
This month it has been 7 years since I quit smoking cold turkey, because my youngest son asked me to. I still crave cigarettes several times a day. I take a deep breath of air, and continue on. When I'm stressed, I eat...that hand to mouth thing. I'm working on that now. Thank you for all that you do.
Thank you for doing this video. I smoked for 41 years and when I switched to vaping I was smoking 3 to 3 1/2 packs a day. I tried many times and many different products and vaping is the only thing that kept me from going back. People need to understand that there's a lot of big companies out there loosing big money to vaping which is why we get so much bad press about it. Which is a shame because it keeps people from wanting to give it a try. Just a well done video.
Here in Australia, it’s not only Tobacco Co’s loosing money but also the Federal Govt is losing Billions in tax excise as vaping here is not regulated & essentially a ‘Black Market’ exists. I have been a 20-25 a day smoker for around 40 years & had been really feeling the effects of smoking, shortness of breath, heavy chest & feeling quite sick at times, I also have sleep apnea which affected my work as a delivery driver. Every day while driving I would feel very drowsy with constant yawning, since I have been vaping I don’t have those attacks of yawning/drowsiness & I feel a lot better. I feel the Govt (directly and through the Health Dept) have put out scare campaign regarding vaping to discourage people from a ‘safer’ alternative because they are losing big time on tax revenue.
Seriously do you understand how much you have helped people, especially me. I am 52 , truck driver for the last 20 years.yes smoker , well not anymore using a vapor to help. Just started the keto live style. And wow life is getting so much better. Only the 3 rd week made some mistakes but your videos are a major help. Education is defiantly the key. And boy have you nailed it. Thank you for doing all the real hard work...the research the passing the knowledge to us carb eating fools. Thank you... really thank you !!
I wish it were easier to find common-sense physicians like you in our communities. Mine retired 5 years ago & even in a 40k population community with 2 major regional hospitals, I haven't been able to locate another like him. I weary of being lectured on the 'virtues' of modern medical practices which too often prove to be just as dangerous, or even more so, to our health than the original health issue. I am a former 40 year smoker who quit by vaping. Nothing else worked for me. But I cannot tell you how many healthcare 'experts' have argued against my choice. Thank God for giving me a discerning mind to sort the truth from fiction. You are a credit to your profession. Thank you as well!
I’m a year and a half vaping now compared to my 20 a Day habit and it’s sooo much better, I have no more smokers cough. I’m 38 so doing my best between this and the keto diet to try and stay alive for my kids. I just lost my brother at age 39 to lung cancer and my dad also died at 39 to pancreatic cancer. I’m feeling like the odds are against me in the world of cancer so I am doing as much as I can now to try and live a healthier life and vaping is a tool I am using now toward this goal. I have went from 18mg to 12 so far, going to try dropping to 10 soon. I have babies I need to be around for.
Extremely obvious and logical point. I work with some teenagers and they love to vape. I think it’s weird but I guess I was 19 when I started smoking. Never smoked that much, but in 2010 I vaped to quit and it was a completely helpful alternative. Love your videos!
I smoked cigarettes for about 25 years, even watched my Dad die of lung cancer and still smoked. The day I started vaping I never had a cigarette again, and within 18 months I quit vaping too! I couldn't be happier this product came along!! I HATE the ignorant people (news people and supposed "authorities") telling lies about vaping.. And there is 0 nicotine vape juice too for those people that act like you can't vape without nicotine (like for teens, but I agree they should not start either). Smoking was one of the worst decisions of my entire life! Thanks to vape I am smoke free!! Thank you for the TRUTH as always Dr Berry!
Thanks for all you do!! Tried the Vaping once during my many years of smoking and went back to smoking @ age 59 I finally ended the addiction cold turkey and alot of praying so thankful I did. Will share.
Thank you thank you for making this video.... I will be sharing it and sharing it often. I was a smoker for over 40 years I started vaping June 2014 and I was able to stop vaping in September of 2017. I really believe if it wasn't for vaping I would still be smoking tobacco today. With in weeks of quitting tobacco I felt better smelt better I could breath better...… everything changed for the good. My blood work was even better. My total cholesterol dropped by almost 40 points. Vaping as a means to stop smoking tobacco I feel is one of the best things to ever come along
I've been a smoker for 13 years and last week I stop and switch into vaping. The "habit" part is still there but I have faith in me that I can fully quit smoking and hopefully, vaping.
Thank you so much for posting this! I smoked at least a pack a day for 30 years, age 15-45. I have been vaping for 3 years, which I know I need to quit that too, it just makes me so mad when people tell me (very often) that vaping is so much worse than cigarettes! Thanks again Dr. Berry !
i started keto 9 months ago. it feels great. i just bought a vape a week ago and havent had a cig since. so this video is right on time for me. thanks.
Thank you Dr. Berry!! I started vaping after watching this video. After 8 days, I had my last cigarette. It tasted God awful btw. It’s been over 48 hrs since my last cigarette and I don’t think I’ll ever smoke again. I’ve been wanting to quit and struggling so thank you so much for this information. YOU CHANGED MY LIFE!
Didn't watch the whole video yet but I was a pack a day smoker for 40+ years. I quit smoking cigarettes just over 6 years ago using vaping. Monday I will quit vaping.
"Smokers don't smell that great." That is a colossal understatement right there. Cigarette smokers don't realize it, but they STINK. They constantly give off a foul odor everywhere they go and they are unaware of it themselves because they never leave that cloud. In my office building, I can get onto an elevator and I can tell that someone had just ridden it after coming in from a smoke break. Before I was married, I briefly dated a few women who were smokers but those were brief affairs because their breath smelled like they had inhaled a dead animal. I've known married couples where only one smoked and, I realize that it ain't none of my business, but I can't understand how the non smoker can stand the smoker.
Vaping saved me from cigarettes!!! I immediately stopped coughing, chronic bronchitis, burning myself, my clothes, and carpet, smelling like smoke, and more! After a few years of vaping, I have finally been able to stop vaping as well, HalleluYah! Thanks for dispelling the lies so more folks can get free! You are Yah-some! I love your vids. I am on day 65 of Carnivory and really getting better: weight reduction, Binge Eating stopped, depression lifting, and more!
I have smoked for 40 years just quit 2 months ago. I was afraid to vape, I now use a nicotine free vape for those times when I NEED. The patch was fine but It gave me some crazy bad dreams. 2 months in and no longer miserable, still miss it but I know my health needs me to quit.
I was smoking and vaping both. Smoking outdoors, vaping indoors, all day long. This video was the catalyst to stop the smokes and just vape. Im only on Day 4, but i can tell im breathing a lot better already. As an aging stage performer, its critical I improve my stamina for the shows we play. I dont have those Keith Richards genes like I'd hoped!
I was a smoker for 35 years, I thought I would never manage to quit, smoking gave me massive anxiety I literally used to have panic attacks worrying about the terrible damage I was potentially doing to my health, not to mention the huge amounts of money I was wasting. I took up vaping (9mg nic) about a month ago and haven't touched or even felt like touching a cigarette since, I KNOW that I will never smoke again. The relief from the anxiety is incredible and I'm feeling so much happier and healthier now. I doubt that I will vape forever it's just the key I needed to allow me to break the smoking habit which has been a massive monkey on my back for so long.
After 30 years I finally gave up smoking and so glad I did . I feel so much better. 3 years no smoking and I did with vaping. 3 to 0 nicotine. Its the hand to the mouth like the doc says lol.
I'm here to say- I've smoked like chimney for 40 years and vaping has saved my life. I've been tobacco free for over 6 years now. Have not touched a single cigarette. I will say that nicotine is the toughest habit of all. I've tried to lower my mg level of nicotine and haven't had much success. I'm stuck at 5-6 mg in my vape liquid. .Still, there is nothing like ridding yourself from such a filthy habit of smoking. I feel free and, I can breathe again!
I feel it I just bought a sour apple vape instead of cigs and I know it will also help my gums and teeth,.......smoking less helped them grow back and make my teeth feel better also vaping is less nicotine and I'm loving it!!!! Will be vaping next year's to come!!!!!!! Always away from smoking the real cigs!!!!
Glad I saw you post. I quit cigarettes three days ago after 35 years. I don’t think I could have done it without trying the vape instead. I was feeling like a failure for that. But now I know it’s just a step in the right direction and I will get there!!
I wish I had made it easier on myself and tried vaping when I quit smoking. It was really rough on my body and mind quitting cold turkey. Been smoke free now for 5 years.
I used to be a chain smoker, and man did those cigarettes makes me sick in so many ways...coughing, fatigue, general malaise, shortness of breath, etc. I think it made me anxious, too. I have vaped instead now for a few years, and it doesn't make me feel bad at all. I just don't have those symptoms that I had with smoking. Most of the vaping companies do list the ingredients, and usually it's no more than the 5 you mentioned, Dr. Berry. No tar, no soot, no ash, no smell to speak of. It doesn't interfere with my new ketogenic lifestyle that I can tell.
Bit late on here but it’s so heartening to see “No sign of smoking” on my Doctors report card. Been vaping for a 10 years now and think I could wean myself off of the juice if I tried but have resigned myself to being content as a non carcinogenic smoker. I feel lucky that this tech came along when it did because I could never quit cigarettes and would be suffering now. Normal pressures, clean teeth, more than enough cardio capacity to jog and be active. Very thankful that vaping became an option. Though have to say am still very much a nicotine addict..
@Dr.KenBerry I had never seen this video until 2 weeks ago. So I started vaping. And I wanted to say again Thank You. I started vaping within a couple of day after viewing. I can now breathe better. My oxygen level went from 89% to 95%. I was so scared of trying vaping. I don't want a cigarette. I don't have the interear, dizziness and sinus problem I have had before. I now think I have a better chance of quitting than I had before.
Same story as all the others here. I smoked for over 25 years, was always sick with bronchitis..started vaping 2 years ago and now I'm almost to 0 mg so proud of all of us!!!!
I work at a grocery store as a self-checkout attendant and the one thing I hate the most (as a cashier) is getting cigarettes for customers. I admit the main cause is because my father died in 2012 at the age of 66 due to smoking since he was a teenager. He developed bladder cancer, like you mentioned, but still continued to smoke even after the doctor declared him cancer free. He was convinced that "there is no scientific evidence that smoking causes cancer" despite what his doctors told him. If I had the money, I would buy and make a package for every customer of my store who smokes that would include a vaping device and a gift card to a vape shop so they could start vaping and get rid of the nasty cigarettes. But, then again, if I had the money to do that, I wouldn't be a cashier at a grocery store. LOL!
I have since quit both smoking and vaping, but what I really appreciated with vaping was when stressed I could have just one puff, feel more calm and get back to life. Once you lite up a cigarette you've pretty much committed to smoke the whole thing. But just one puff helped me to ween down and eventually stop and replace with other technics to deal with stressful moments.
like you said, the one puff needed, not committed to a whole cigarette. Also not hacking up brown or black gunk and for me it helped with quitting alcohol, with one irrational feeling making me think I need a drink I would take a hit and change my mind before I could get my keys to drive to the store.
This is some really great advice, I quick smoking almost 2 yrs ago, switched to vaping ( a nice tobacco flavour) and now down to almost no nicotine in my vape juice. I know I'll be quitting the vape this year. It was the only way I could quit smoking. Thank you for this video Ken
My Wife and I quit a pack a day habit with Vape 10-12 years ago. We have been in the Vape Wave almost from the start and it has been AMAZING! When I quit I had all the 'symptoms' of quitting cigarettes. Quit wheezing, stopped regular bouts with Bronchitis, and GAINED 30lbs right off. The same things that happened to me the other times I quit. This time though the process was more or less painless, and smooth. We started at 24 mg/dl because that was recommended at the time for smokers wanting to quit. Slowly have weaned to 3 mg/dl just because we can. I make my own juices now too by the way. Our example has helped several friends and family to quit smoking. I cannot think of a more painless, or better way to quit smoking. The biggest problem for people is the learning curve because it IS NOT SMOKING CIGARETTES. I try to explain that, but some people just can't get over that. Like you said it is mostly just the habit they can't stop. At this point I see no reason to go to zero nic, and then to quit altogether, but we know if we decide to it will be much easier that just cold turkey from cigarettes. Anyway, just my two cents. Thanks for the support Dr. Berry.
I quit a 35+ year smoking habit by vaping. I don't plan on vaping forever, but this is something that actually worked for me. I quit 14 months ago and am down to 3 mg. nicotine. I plan on weaning down to 0 mg by the end of the year and then dropping the vaping habit all-together. I tried many ways and this was by far the easiest. You aren't depriving yourself, just changing habits. It tastes so much better and you don't stink, although you might actually smell good! People actually tell me I smell good and ask if it is my lotion. Of course I lie and tell them it is, lol.
Hello doctor. You are one of the most honest of the doctors are talking about healthy living. I fully respect that and I really appreciate it. I was addict to sugar one week ago . I am 40 years old, 5,8" and 210 pounds. I started keto one week ago and I already lost 13 pounds which is good, but what I really need to fix is some kind of burning in my stomach that make me to wake up every morning between 5am to 6am. I have tha problem since 2008 because I got the Hpylori and I used a lot of antibiotics, and since that I used 3 different gastroenterologist and no doctor ever found why this is happening to me, but also non of them never recommend me what to eat. Keto is working great for me and I am much better , but still have tha kind of burning in my stomach every morning. I hope in God Keto will help me, but if you or anyone here can give me an adviser will be appreciated. Thank you again and God bless you all.
Thanks, Dr. Berry. This is exactly what people will learn when they have lost the battle to try to make vaping illegal. Countries which have stranger tobacco lobbies have more laws against vaping. We may be able to turn it around here before it's too late. In any case, I no longer smoke cigarettes, finally, and eventually I will also no longer vape.
A lot of people dont know that nicotine is also therapeutic for A.D.D. and some symptoms of Aspergers Syndrome. So when a smoker says they NEED to have a smoke it may be a LOT more than just a nicotine habit. When a smoker says they cant think without a cig take them seriously. Many people who started smoking at a very young age could easily be undiagnosed A.D.D. or Asperger's who discovered incidentally that cigarettes made it easier for them to function in the real world. Asking them to 'just quit' could be asking too much. Anyone who 'just can't quit' no matter what they try might consider being evaluated for A.D.D or Asperger's Syndrome. With appropriate therapy, they might be able to quit.
Thank you so much for this video Dr. Berry and thanks to all that commented. I have been a smoker for 25 years and I refused to quit. Well now that I’m 40 and having a midlife crisis and it’s affecting my health, I plan to quit July 8th 2023. This video has greatly helped. My plan is to quit cigarettes cold turkey but I am going to use nicotine patches and vape. Wish me luck 🙏🙏🚬🚬🚫❌❌
Same advice I give people. Great video. Smokers- Start vaping and wean off nicotine. It's better. Plus like you said you don't stink. Non smokers...do not vape.
I use to smoke a pack of cigarettes for more than 20 yrs. I tried to quit several times but always failed until a friend introduced me to vaping. I vaped for 6 months and never lit a cigarette again. After another 6 months I also quit vaping. I been clean for more than 3 yrs now and never felt healthier in my whole life. Vaping saved my life.
Thanks again Doc. I fight this every day now. Been smoking for fifty years. When I started the vapor cigs I cut back on cigarettes by fifty percent. It's still hard for me to quit but I'll keep trying. Luckily I'm still pretty healthy and see my Doc about every six months. Thanks for another great info vid. Appreciate it.
Thanks for this video, Dr. Berry! Vaping is a form of tobacco-harm reduction, and based on science, I think it's a viable alternative for those wishing to quit smoking cigarettes. Working on the habits first, then tackling the nicotine addiction makes SO much sense. I wish the news media would highlight the information you're putting down instead of propagating the fake "Vaping is more dangerous than cigarette smoking" propaganda. I appreciate you and your videos so much!
Thank you so much Dr Ken. In many ways you remind me of my own family doctor. The tobacco companies are launching so much disinformation because they're losing money because people are switching to vaping. And your honesty is true it's not good to put anything foreign in your lungs however vaping is the far lesser of two evils. Your patience are lucky to have you.
Exactly. When I finally gave up cigarettes for the last time it was with vaping. Cigarette companies don't put all that extra junk in their product because they're lazy. They do it because it makes the nicotine high hit stronger, faster, and then tail off quickly so you need another smoke to get back to "normal". That is how you foster addiction. Nicotine from vaping rises more slowly, and fades slowly. You don't get that first cigarette in the morning rush from them. What they do is ease off the tension and craziness when you want a smoke. Since you decide when you feel like you need to use it, you use it less. You can start skipping smoke breaks (go for a quick walk instead). Dial down you nicotine percentage. After years of trying to quit, and a ton of nicotine patches, it was vaping that set me free. After 6 months of vaping, I was sitting at my desk one day and realized I had forgotten to vape for two days. So I quit, two days before I knew I quit. Can you imagine forgetting to smoke a cigarette for two days? Two hours? That is what a broken addiction feels like, and it it amazing. Get yourself a good vape system, I used V2. Don't buy the cheapest Chinese made junk at the gas station, they will make you feel terrible. Don't get cute with flavors, just buy the tobacco flavor that matches your usual brand. Make sure to have two batteries so you never run out.
Ive just started the vape journey after smoking cigs for 10 yr, roll ups for20 yrs, and spliffs for 30 yrs 🥴🥴 3 weeks n no ciggies no rollies but 3 spliffs, going to buy a bong tom for my weed addiction, so no spliffs n no tar 👍👍👍 great vid will share to all my smoking friends 👍👍
Thank you dr ken.
Vaping is what finally broke my nearly 30 year addiction to cigarettes.
Where do I reach this dude? If possible can I find him on Google
Red Pilled Cuck Awesome!
Wow, that's awesome.
Which was the nearest pod kid closest to cigarette? And do juices get you out of ketosis?
Tonya Mulitalo congratulations and best of luck
Thank you! Finally, a doctor acknowledged this. Everyone is so worried about liability. We just need solid info....
I smoked for 33yrs and quit after I started vaping. I started next to the highest mg, but worked my way down to no nicotine after a year. Smoke free for 7 1/2 yrs now.. :)
Karla, yayyyy!!!! 7 years here!
Vaping is the only thing that was able to get me off nicotine. Nothing else worked. Congrats on your 7.5 years!
Oliver Magoo Thank you
You did it exactly right!
Dr Berry Thank you, it worked and that is what mattered. Never felt better in my life, now on with taking care of the rest of my health
Smoked for 30 years and tried to quit multiple times, was horribly ineffective every time....till I started vaping. Been over a year now since I had any tobacco product. Back to running and biking, can walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath and I smell much better. Thank God for the vaping. Probably the only way I was ever quitting cigarettes.
mk45gunnr, congratulations!!
Yeah sure. Everyone who just started vaping say that cause they wanna convince themself and others.
Same here
@@KingChibbi well you kinda have to convince yourself. That's the whole part and parcel of choosing to quit something!
I've been vaping for 14 years and feel great vaping saved my life and my doctor agrees with me
Used vape to quit smoking. Now do neither. 11 months
Great job! 7 years here!!
Congratulations
Just started vaping a week ago. So far so good.
Awesome! Congratulations!!!
Ready to ditch the vape, messing with my nervous system and driving my body way up
Vaping has saved my life.
100 %
The government wants smokers so that they die before retirement to keep their money.
ALSO, tobacco is taxed 5x. Taxed from the tobacco farmer to the cigarette manufacturer to the wholesaler to the retailer to the customer.
Makes a lot of sense 💯
I know many people who quit via vaping. It’s a great means to quitting a terrible habit.
I agree. It is the "gateway" habit to NOT smoking any more!
Yessss, Dr.
Smoking cigarettes and vaping are both bad habits, but one is much less-bad than the other!
KenDBerryMD I need to correct one thing. Vape juice doesn't have water. It may grab a bit from the air, but it hasn't been added to it for many years. Another thing you may not be aware of, vaping is 4-5 times more effective than the patch, gum, pills, and all combined.
Dr Berry.... Check out bio resonance for smoking cessation. Works on all addictions....
Americans First , he has stated in a live video that vaping doesn't affect the keto diet.
Leora Smoot I got high as fuck on cocaine one day and decided that I was going to quit smoking and switch y vaping and I will never go back
I used vaping to quit smoking. Now weaning off vaping.
Viking Shaman, congratulations!!
Thanks so much, Cheri!
Marta Pepin 4 packs a day!? 🧐 wow how many cigarettes in a pack that’s basically smoking all day and night. Great job kicking the habit
Thank you SOOOO much for this video! I used vaping products to kick a 20+ year habit! I feel better than I've felt in years :) I appreciate you bringing some light to this controversial subject. Our medical community would do well to follow your lead.
Using vaping as a tool to quit smoking is very smart!
@kbusch011, I just started vaping today following a 27 yr cigarette habit. I want to quit completely can you tell me how you gradually got free?
(I have also been followed by a cardiac rehabilitation team for several years, so I have the data to back up the choice that I made)
I was a smoker for over 30 years- and smoked 2 packs a day in the past 10 years- Vaping helped me stop- I feel so much healthier and the transition was painless- I strongly recommend any smoker to try it
I vaped with 0 nicotine to the point I didn't need that ether it's been over 2 years smoked for 32 years
The amazing thing is a large convenience store stopped selling vape because of juul bad press but you can buy all the cigarettes your heart desires
I wonder is there such a thing as inorganic cotton?
Nah still not good
@@JinnYoungKim whatever. What's your vice? Caffeine? Sugar? Food? Alcohol?
@@Vicki_Benji I never drink Alcohol without drinking with my father or anniversary.
@@Vicki_Benji yeah. You made a point. I try not to drink soft drink.
Shortness of Breath or Cough... Nah... Anyone who inhales vaping is tupid.
Great video! Thanks for the clarification! Vaping saved me from smoking and I am gradually weening from that now!
My adult daughter hid her smoking from me and when I eventually found out, I cried for 2 days. I told her all I wanted for Mother’s Day was for her to quit smoking. She got a vape and quit the cigarettes! She still vapes occasionally but with no nicotine!
Vaping helped me quit after 20 years of smoking.. now I’m free of that as well, thank you Lord! 🙌🏻
Just started Keto.. I have 50 lbs to lose.
i just passed my 10 YR anniversary of quitting smoking by vaping. this video is the truth! i am now down to 1 mg vape liquid and am happier and far more healthy feeling than i ever was for the 41 yrs i smoked. new subscriber.
I’ve been smoking cigs for 16 years , I’m 9 days without a cigs because I’m vaping now. Keep me in your prayers
Thank you for the TRUTH as always Dr Berry!
been vaping a while no problems yet
smells great allowed almost anywhere
no tar no carcinogens i vote for vapers
Thank you.... I have been vapping for 3 years! Feel fantastic, no coughing from vape.
Thanks for all you do!! Tried the Vaping once during my many years of smoking and went back to smoking @ age 59 I finally ended the addiction cold turkey and alot of praying so thankful I did. Will share.
I smoked for 30 years but quit 15 years ago. Quiting smoking was hard, but quiting sugar was a lot harder!
Been vaping 5 years feel like a non smoker now. Vaping saved my life and I vape dessert flavors at age 45.
I quit smoking 18 years ago, and I still want to light up.
Thank you. I quit 36 hours ago, and started vaping. I know it's only 36 hours, but it's a start.
RogueVet77
I hope that you are still vaping and are doing well!!!
Any update after 4 years?
Glad I saw you post. I quit cigarettes three days ago after 35 years. I don’t think I could have done it without trying the vape instead. I was feeling like a failure for that. But now I know it’s just a step in the right direction and I will get there!!
Been watching quite a while. Seeing you cover this topic was a pleasant surprise
Thanks Matt!
I wish I had made it easier on myself and tried vaping when I quit smoking. It was really rough on my body and mind quitting cold turkey. Been smoke free now for 5 years.
95% safer than smoking according to the Royal College of Physicians.
I’ve never ever been a smoker and I still watched this video. Haha. I’ll share for my friends and family that do. Thanks Dr Berry!
Been on a vape for a week after smoking for 50 years full time. A very easy transition. Thanks doctor 👍
This will be 1 week with a juul for me , I've been smoking cigarettes for 7 years
Edit : I've quit tobacco using a juul for almost a month now
Chad> good luck. I started w/Juul. Worked like a charm.
LOL!
Thank You for telling the truth! I am so tired of health professionals telling lies.
Berry.
I started vaping two months ago my breathing is a lot better now then smoking.
I have stoped smoking n started vaping for 2 days now seeing all the comments is motivating
Yes! Thank you! I started vaping to break the cigarette habit. And, it worked. Yes, vaping is bad for you, but not nearly as bad as smoking.
I quit and did it with vaping. I buy natural liquid here in the UK. I feel so much better!
Non smokers...do not vape.
why not though
I use to smoke a pack of cigarettes for more than 20 yrs. I tried to quit several times but always failed until a friend introduced me to vaping. I vaped for 6 months and never lit a cigarette again. After another 6 months I also quit vaping. I been clean for more than 3 yrs now and never felt healthier in my whole life. Vaping saved my life.
Never smoked cigarettes but started vaping a year ago. Confident I’ve kicked the addiction to it. Haven’t done it in a week and don’t miss it at all.
I have never smoked cigarettes or any other drugs; however, most of my relatives have. Thanks for sharing this important information.
I moved to vaping broke my smoking addiction also..
I switched from cigarettes to vaping, weaned myself down to 3mg of nicotine and have no plans of quitting
