    Asked for this ages ago and glad it's done 🙌🏾. But have to disagree with AI comparisons, at least initially. Burke is neither as quick nor as athletic as Iverson was; his shifty game allowed him to beat people at UM but didn't give him enough separation in the pros to dominate. He also tried to score his way thru NBA games instead of being a more balanced PG. Was once compared to Chris Paul in college but just became a one-note scorer in the pros. Definitely Stunted.

Like let’s be for real… Defense in todays NBA!? His Knicks run was pretty good. He should’ve remained a knick but.. Knicks wanted him gone in favor of Frank Ntilikina 😂 I remember one time if you type in Trey Burke knick hightlight.. Man’s was breaking out double doubles like he was A All-Pro. Only Knicks PG with 42 & 12 iirc while shooting over 50%. He was just a victim of circumstances. Trey Burke had game.

  • @nbarealtalker
    @nbarealtalker Год назад +3

    Excellent video! But I respectfully disagree with your take on how AI’s original play style wouldn’t work today. While advanced stats would probably still hate him, the floor is so open now. Defences would be leaving shooters pretty wide open if they tried to collapse the paint to take him outta the mix. Could easily see him dominating with his driving and penetration with either way less guarded lanes around the hoop or with a newfound plethora of passing options on the off chance a defence would rather isolate on his ability to create defensive breakdowns. Assuming there would roughly be a balance between the two for defences, I think pretty much all of AI’s numbers go up. And that’s assuming he doesn’t even bother working on his notoriously streaky long ball. He bumps that up to anything even touching 34-35% and I think we se some peak Harden numbers outta AI in todays game on a seasonal basis because nobody could keep up. Look at what Steph Curry did during his peak. Take away the shooting ability but add about 15x the speed to running off all those back cuts and low post screens while Bubba runs semi circles around the baseline and you’ve got a near unstoppable force on the court.

    Trey was underrated throughout his career. When you look at 2:15 you can see he got better every year. Especially when he was with the Knicks in 17-18 he had 13ppg, 5apg, and 2rpg (on under 22mpg) while shooting over 50% and 36% from 3. Those are all solid!

They drafted Burke, who finished 3rd in rookie of the year voting (in a historically weak year, mind you), averaging roughly 13 points and 5 assists to 2 turnovers. Not great, but not awful. Literally the next year they drafted Danted Exum and had them split starts. Completely screwed both of their development. Like if you've figured Burke isn't the guy after one season, fine. But then go all in on Exum. Don't stunt both of them.

    A.i. was freak of nature, fastest first step maybe ever, but most importantly A.I. was tough as hell, he was attacking rim like he is 6'7. and that whats made ai different from other small guys who where limited to outside game ..ai didn't care if hes gonna get hurt, he was attacking rim whole game!!!
    and point about ai not beign successful today is BS...In todays game where you cant touch anyone..and everything is flagrant foul..mark my word A.I. . would avarage 35 easily on 45-50 % Mark my words !!!
    why ? its simple..rules today favour offensive players, especially guards ..ai was playing in era where avg team point where 90-100 and today its 110-120..
    other big reasons is spacing and skillset in today game ..everyone shoot 3...that allow much better spacing in offense and that would allow a.i. to play 1on1 much more ...and good luck stoping a.i in 1on1 😂..ai wil just run-over 98% defenders in todays nba ...he was doing that in 2000s but there you where allowed to triple and double team him whole game long cause he didnt play with much talent and shooters in his teams and overall league was different...much tougher to score ..
    so yeah ,i don't agree with anything in this video , no hate but some things are just not right

    JC... DON'T EVER DISRESPECT ERVIN "MAGIC" JOHNSON LIKE THAT AGAIN👌🏿! You Do Wonderful Work, But Where Is The Overhyped, Stat Padding, Insecure, Media Spin Artist Dude From Akron, Ohio Better Than #32 At Other Than Athleticism....I'LL WAIT!!!! Not A Better Floor General, Not A Better Passer, Not A Better Foul Shooter, Not A Better Clutch Player, Not A More Fierce Competitor...But "Better One Came Along" 😏🤣😭🤣😭🤣.
    You Better Stop Pandering To These Nick Wright And Shannon Sharpe Minions Before You Lose Your Credibility Out Here...SERIOUSLY 🤷🏿‍♂️🤣!

    Stop it bro. Mad love but lebron isn’t anywhere near the passer magic was and he’s probably not even greater than him. I mean that clip you shown of that pass was a far far reach😂

    😂😂😂😂 man if y’all don’t stop with this bullshit. He is nothing like Iverson. Iverson had one of a kind speed, quickness, athleticism….trey is average compared to other guards. Iverson was one of the best finishers of all time and had one of the top mid range and float games out there…..trey struggles to finish. And I’m not even going to bring up iverson non stop motor. Please stop with the Iverson comparisons. Just because he grew braids and look similar doesn’t mean they play alike

    Iverson is sadly overrated. The style of pounding the air out of the ball on iso plays has never worked in the playoffs. That's why he has limited playoff success
