- 8 CRUMHORNS playing Corteccia (1502-1571) - Ingredere for 2 Choirs - Krummhorn Cromorno
Hey
I´ve discover this piece recently and thought it could sound great with crumhorns. For those who don´t enjoy crumhorns this can sound a true polifonic nightmare =)
Anyway, this music is so beautiful and i think almost everybody will like it.

HELLO! If you like my videos and would like to help me somehow please read!
Recently my positive organ had to suffer some upgrades and the wind blower does not work anymore for it. Unfortunately my instrument is dead until i have a new blower but it is very expensive, not manufactured in Brazil and worst, even more inaccessible now because of Brazil economic situation and high currency devaluation.

Thank you very much for your help and kindness!
a real push for the revival of the unfortunately too forgotten crumhorm music!
Eduardo, I'm 64 years old, and only discovered the compositions of Corteccia in the last 10 years. When I first discovered this recording recently,...and accidentally,... on RUclips, its beauty left me in tears ! Your mastery of the Crumhorn is nothing short of pure genius, and I thank you sincerely for adding so much to my musical enjoyment of this music from The Renaissance. Please continue to bless us with your performances of Renaissance music on authentic instruments. You are truly a musical gem.
Dear Charles,
Thank you very much for your beautiful words. I´m very happy to know you appreciated my performance of Corteccia. Indeed it´s a wonderful composer. It´s a great incentive to keep uploading videos, specially using the crumhorns.
My best wishes from Rio to you!
Yes indeed he sure does
They are not easy to tune hehehe. We need much pacience and hours editing it =P Regards
I've always loved crumhorns. This is so clear and balanced and so musical. :-)
Mr Antonello, your performances on the krummhorn is really my second re-discovery of this wonderful instrument. The first was my introduction on pieces by the legendary folk band Gryphon on their first two albums. I just wish my wallet size was the same as my wishlist.....your renditions of ancient compositions and your own original takes on that same period music is a joy to my ears.....now I'd wish I had the tenor cornamuse and krummhorn myself, owwwww. But am afraid it will take some time to save money for it 😁. Keep doing your GREAT job on introducing people into renaissance and early baroque music. From a new fan from the Netherlands.
Thank you for sending your feedback! I´m happy i made a good choice recording this nice piece! Your comment proves this =) Best wishes

Excelente! Mis felicitaciones y muy agradecido por el trabajo tan interesante!
Your performance of this piece inspired me to find the sheet music for it and introduce it to my early music group. They love it, as well. And, Eduardo, I am also inspired to tell you that after listening to numerous performances, I've got to say that you are an astonishing musician and entertainer! Bravo!
+mcburcke Thank you very much for your kind words! They are very inspiring to keep playing and recording! Enjoy your early music group :) Best wishes from Rio, Ed

Straordinario, complimenti. Conosco da molto questo brano del Corteccia e la tua esecuzione è semplicemente magnifica e la ho ascoltata con grande interesse.

Indeed! Best regards
This is anything but a polyphonic nightmare. I very thoroughly enjoyed this performance. I love music like this!
Thanks! It´s a great music indeed :) All the best, Ed
BTW Eduardo....nice touch with the razor-wire cage for the krummhorns! :-)
:)
Just perfectly lovely! And Eduardo is adorable in a ruff! Pretty sure not many folks these days could rock this look. Or play such divine music so divinely.
Thank you very much!!! Best wishes from Rio Kira
LOVE this stuff. These octuplets are VERY talented!
+Willi Boepple Thank you dear Willi!
Hi again my friend! Thanks for enjoying the crumhrons and my music :) Best wishes to you and your early music group!
You are awesome man!. Where can you buy an affordable Crumhorn with good quality?
Eduardo,
Very nice music, well performed. The nice thing with the crumhorn is, they sound better when there are more of them. In this recording they almost sound like an organ! And I like the organ!!
Thanks for posting!
Glad you like it my friend!
Hello! Thanks for your nice words! I´m very happy to know you enjoyed my work. Best regards from Rio

Hi Eduardo. I have listened to a lot of your output and I would like to congratulate you on the quality of timbre you get out of your crumhorns: very enjoyable. Also thank you for introducing me to J H Schein: what a splendid composer!

I haven't picked up a krummhorn in a few decades, but I still love the sound. Great little video!
Thank you very much!
This is fabulously beautiful
Thank you!
Hello dear Willem. Thank you for enjoying :) I agree with you but there is an organ playing the background
Regards my friend
Beautiful sound. Maybe I'm half-a-bubble-off-plumb, but I have always enjoyed the sound of crumhorns .
+Peter Finch Thank you Peter!
Wow. should sound marvelous but i don´t like to think about it because i don´t have racketts (yet =P) Regards!
Fantastic! Pure genius! Bravo!
Thank you very much!
I am so happy to have found your channel as Renaissance style music is some of my favourite!
You are a very talented person for the way that you have constructed your videos!
So impressive!
So glad you like them! Best wishes
Thank you dear...? Your words are very nice to go ahead with this project! About the razor-wire i don´t know exactly what i tought. Was one idea about the sky and heaven X earth, binding in the floor. Something more ethereal.. Thank you for enjoying!
Stunningly beautiful!! Well done again!
LEOZAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Grandiose...
Amusant: les fils barbelés représentent-ils la barrière que la radio Française mets contre ce genre de musique?
Ceci dit bravo! c'est magnifique, j'adore.
Why not André? It´s a way to think. I like the photo because for me it means the opposite as the free and the land :) Merci beaucoup
Wow! Very nice! Crumhorns are the best sometimes.
Thank you! True
Thank you Peter! Best regards
Bellísimo. Soy tu fan, Eduardo.
gropiusmaster Muchas gracias! Saludos desde Rio
Very enjoyable! I like the deep voice very much, maybe it is somehow the ancester of a tenor saxophone :) !
Thank you Alex! Well, they come from different families but who knows?! :) Best regards!
Yes, sure. The sax certainly doesn' t have too much in common with double reeds :). Your performence was very nice though. Regrads!
Alex Ziółek Thank you very much again! Best wishes from Rio!
Alex Ziółek it has a similar sound though produced differently but it fulfills the same sonority satisfaction
Your music has made my afternoon full of joy. Thank you for that nice performance and greetings from Germany.
Thank you dear!
I love it. Your playing is outstanding.
Thanks friend
Love it! Tks.
Thank you :)
Just amazing. You, my brother, are a genius. Creativity is just incredible- PLEASE continue to produce these types of videos!
One question however: Why the concertina razor-wire? I guess it could be Early Music in a "very different way" - 8 Crumhorns blaring above a prison wall. Or, the concertina razor-wire would be a fitting background for a concert of crumhorns.
Hmmmm...
Bravo!
LOL!!!!
Beautifully splendid!
Thank you very much David!
Very kind words Antonio! Thank you!
Oh this is marvelous! Bravo!!
Thank you!
How did you manage to make that wonderful film. It´s not only the playing - also the pictures :-)
+PapagenoHannover Glad you like it! Thank you!
Hello! Thank you! i wish i could do it every day with other videos :) Regards from Rio
Lovely performance
Glad you like it! :)
beautifull! and sounds very well in tune- quite rare for a crumhorn 'consort'. can I know who made your instrments? thanks
Thank you! My sopran, tenor and bass crumhorns were made by Wood from England or Scoltland (not sure). The alto is a Eric Moulder copy from someone i don´t remember :) Best regards from Rio!
I am curious. The crumhorn ensemble recordings I listen to made by you seem to have much better intonation than recordings by others. Is this a function of better technique on your part, better instrument quality or some other factor of which I am unaware?
Hello Jim. I beleave when i play multi track is quite easy to maintain the same blow needed to play with myself then others and this helps. Also some people blow the crumhorn as a harder resistance recorder and i think this is not good.I´ve never learned it. Just discovered by myself. About my instruments they are more special then others from Eric Moulder from exemple which are really nice! Regards
Thank you Romulo!
Where can I buy an score? Th.is would be great a great antiphony for organ and trombone choir. Yes we have four sizes of trombones. This is Moravian country. Are there other double choir pieces? Thanks.
Hello! I found the score on the internet but i can send it to you if you would like. Write to me please eduardoantonello@gmail.com Unfortunately i don´t have more 2 choir pieces. Best, Ed
Thank you dear David! I have good news for us (not yet our new recording) but i ll tell you later by mail. Regards
Thank you! =)

Thank you! Im glad you like it :)
Why here in France does nobody play the crumhorn anylonger ?! It's an important instrument in the Renaissance and even XVII°, till Louis XIV... I share your videos to groups of early music, showing them how nice these instruments are ! Thanks young man !!
Thank you! crumhorn should be everywhere :)
Eduardo Antonello, tus interpretaciones son sensacionales. Te felicito
Muchas Gracias!
Definitivamente soy tu más entusiasta fan.
Muchas gracias! :)
I mostly wonder about them being thus well in tune - like dreamed crumhorns :O
Lol! Not easy!
this is just amazing. i want this to playing during my entire life. one question, were these crumhorns expensive. if not where did you get them. (that two questions, tricked you)
The smaller ones about £800 the larger ones more like £1200. Early Music Shop
Thank you! Buy them used at earlymusic shop or ebay!
How did you afford all your instruments?
I love it!
+Ant I´m happy to know :)
+Early Music in a different way ;) Thank you and likewise. I'm enjoying all your music.. Ant
Love it! I'm a krummhorn consortist myself...well done. For Jim Hodges: Reedcap instruments have to be very carefully controlled by breath pressure alone, as there is no embouchre control of the reed inside the cap at the top of the instrument. Blow in the hole, and it makes noise, hopefully beautiful noise. Breath pressure control and the ability to instantly hear the correct pitch for the fingering is essential, assuming the instrument has been properly regulated before being played. There are several families of reedcap winds, the krummhorn being the most visually entertaining. The curved body actually serves no acoustic purpose. For Eduardo: sorry to hijack the thread here...perdon.
Happy to know you are a true crumhorn lover like me!
Where do you get your outfits? They are so wonderful!
