Our first night in our house was better than we thought. We thought it would be noisy at night because of the passing cars. But surprisingly it was very quiet and we slept soundly to the sounds of nature. On our first morning we organized our things and cleaned the inside of the house. It was exhausting, but we are happy. We didn't have time to cook, so my husband went to a local canteen called Karenderia to buy some cooked food. We had our first meal at home. It rained so hard the day we moved and all my husband's books got wet. It's a pity, they are good books about building and construction. We can use these books to build our future home. Boris tried to save them by drying them in the sun and it seems to be working. We don't have a water connection yet, so we went to the nearby spring to take a shower and also collect some water to use at home.
The next day we got up very early to start cleaning and unpacking our things again. I cooked some eggs for breakfast. I vacuumed the walls and floors. Then I started cleaning the kitchen. Our house looks a little better now. In the afternoon, Boris and I went to the local market to buy fish, they only have bangus here. We also bought some vegetables. At home I picked some sweet potato tops to add to my fish soup. We are happy to have so many plants in our garden that we can eat and use. We had a great dinner and are ready for tomorrow.
You should put your motorcycle inside and other valuable inside your house . It might somebody took it

If you make improvements of your house you may move a little further from the road to be safe..spacious front yard is better and safer...takecare :)

Put your bike inside at night and when you are out in your backyard busy. Calamansi is good for you as drink with tea. KEEP BIKE INSIDE, BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY GUY'S.

You can visit our beach house in Tolosa if you want to for a weekend. It is directly on the beach, Free of charge. Message if you want to. You can get fresh fish directly from fisherfolks on the beach. Very peaceful

When you are eating, make sure to close the door. Or when you are busy doing something inside the house, also close the door. Someone might know that boris is a foreigner and will think that you have plenty of money. Ingat po kayo.
You should buy to double walling inside you house and put double screen your windows and doors to avoid mosquito and flies coming inside your house.

I'm married to a Filipina living here in Texas. Most of the houses where Filipinos live grow two things. Calamansi(calamondin) and malunggay(moringa). When we pass by a house with them growing we always say a Filipino must live there. Good luck with the building of your house. Make sure you use an onsite engineer. Many problems occur from not using the proper rebar size in the concrete plus the splicing of rebar. If you don't splice rebar properly and have a earthquake you can have a major failure of the concrete.

Yes, Rain water can be boiled inorder to get rid of contaminants if you want to drink it. However, Rain water stucked in a drum or large buckets like Margarine can only be used for washing only. Or be used in bathing or cleaning purposes. Though your Spring Water nearby is drinkable, it is more safer to buy galons of Mineral water (P170) and get it delivered into your house by the Store Owner's truck. Or you can carry it thru your motorcycle for 1 bottle only. Just drive slowly as much as possible. 1 bottle cannot be consumed immediately. Then slowly buy additional bottles afterwards. The water is more cleaner and drinkable. 👍💖💚🧡

No problem with deafening silence. There's a Stereo or Radio 📻 to turn on folks. Just let it on for hours while you are working so that you will not get bored while working or cleaning. 🎶🎶 It will make your day more fun and alive. 👍🎉 Snakes is possible because there's a Bamboo Tree. Just check your room constantly because it will insert on things inside your house. That is why, it is more convenient if your house is totally sealed and screened. It will even insert in a screen on windows if it is small in size, especially the Green ones. I know that because we lived in a forested area with Neighbors. It may even crawl at night. So better keep your clothes and sacks properly kept. They will insert in cartoons, dry boxes, piled woods, or even inside your cabinets. Always sharpen your blades.

Dont pull lemon grass by the roots, cut the leaves but leave the roots in the soil, so it grow new leaves.
If houses will be numerous in a couple of decades, there will be more trucks and vehicles that will pass by. It will be so disturbing at night even if you are 3 times house-gap. I knew that because our house is located in a Subdivision with a 10 gapped-houses, and yet it is still noisy. Plus the road will shake tremendously especially if large-container trucks will pass by. Glad it is not in a National Hi-way. You can buy large Margarine buckets ( P280) and stuck it with water. Or make a Kariton for the galons to be carried along since you haven't have a sidecar yet. Then if you have enough money, you can make a gutter or buy a Plastic roof inorder to catch rain draining to your buckets or Water tanks in the future filtered with a clean cloth and a metal screen. Choose Stainless Steel Tanks or better stick to Plastic Drums for easy evacuation and brushing when cleaning. Green moss forms. And moss grows faster on Cemented tanks than on Plastics containers. Simply intact your trash on a sack and pile it outside your house for easy pick-up. And never ever leave your Motorbike outside your house. Even within the Cities, there are notorious Thieves who will steal motors even if it is grilled or locked. They often sneak on your whereabouts. Better parked it inside with a protective partition so that you will not smell the gasoline because that can cause respiratory damage. Repaint your grills in the future. Your backyard must be plained backwards if it is still a part of your property. Always wear pants when working. As I can see, mosquitoes are hovering all over the thick bushes. Your C.R. can be temporarily covered with a thick Trapal that you can buy by meters and support it with a Coconut wood that is quite cheaper. Open C.R. without ceiling is common in provinces. Make a canal for it to flow of course.

Congratulatons 🎉lemon trees have thorns too. These fruits will be good to make rawfish salad. They can be used to pickle vegtables and fruit with the juice and salt.
You can make a fruit picker by putting a coke bottle, with a hole on its side, onto the end of long bamboo pole. If you can get a tank and some pipes you could collect the rainwater from the roof.

I wanna see Boris rebuild or repair the house i know he is a skilled builder looking forward for it because he has the freedom now to do so because they own it. And Darlene on the other hand is farming or on planting. Always be alert and safe. Consider having a deep well in the future if possible in that area, for water pump and water tank etch. I know Boris knows what to do. Strong fence and gate to lock too. Boris the new place will really test your patience but Darlene is used to this kind of life, good luck to you Boris enjoy the provincial life. Simple but peaceful

I suggest that you buy a big tank or container where you can save the rain water since it is rainy season. This will help you from going to the spring where you get your water. I am sure Boris has a good idea how to direct the rain water. You will need a long bamboo tied somewhere in the roof and its end goes to the mouth of the tank from the sandayong/gutter. You can drain the dirt by covering the mouth of the container with net.
