SPOILER CONTEXT BELOW: James is a mentally ill man who euthanized his terminally ill wife Mary and subsequently forgets he did so. His adventure is about him unravelling his own repressed memories and facing her and his demons in the end. Corpse has mental illnesses and relates to James (he’s said he’s his favourite), but he ALSO has chronic physical illnesses and relates to Mary, whose unnamed degenerative disease was slowly killing her as well as disfiguring her, which made her lash out at her husband and drove him away. A big part of this song that hits home for me is that line "I ain't even got any friends, feel like everyone is fake" because when you hate yourself so much and in so many ways, you don't believe when people tell you they like you or want to be friends with you. Your mindset is "I don't like myself how is it possible anyone else would like me?" and I strongly vibe with that, unfortunately.

He's had a problem with alcohol for a while & cutting as well, the line about "everclear" (he's struggled with drinking to sleeping & just not think) and "break a mirror" (the mirror line refers to times he has actually broken mirrors before he thrown/covered them up, he once took the pieces and cut himself before livestreaming & I don't know if it was a recent one or one of his horror stories livestream but he talked about it, he doesn't like looking at himself). I like the imagery he uses, it’s all images of train cars uncoupling, going off the rails, car crashes, explosions, self destruction… it all mirrors the lyrics and the feeling of the song. It’s all just ties together so nicely!
