- How Life Can Change So Quickly....
On August 20th Yulian was diagnosed with rare squamous cell carcinoma of the tonsil which also spread to nearby lymph nodes. This shocking news has taken a huge toll on our family.
He is a loving husband and a devoted father to our 2 year old daughter Aria. Yulian is one of the most caring people you will meet. He always puts others first and does whatever it takes to help.
Now it is time for us to help him. Together we can help Yulian overcome this cancer battle. This fundraiser is to help with the medical expenses for the cancer treatment and surgery, to which the cost is currently unknown.
We know that this will be a difficult journey, but we will continue to stay positive. All of your prayers and support means so much!
If you can, please consider donating. Yulian has so much more life to live with our family and much more love to spread to others!

Hi I am hannah and I support people who have cancer and I pray every day
Just found your channel hope things get better also hope you managed to keep the boat.
Hi there
I am a cancer survivor. Two years ago was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Had my entire stomach removed. I am still sailing both professionally (ship captain) and pleasurably on my 32-foot sailboat. The diagnosis was hard to swallow, but rather than a seat on the corner I attacked it just as I would a wind change. I am in your corner kid. Fair winds
Inspirational 👎🏼🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I only just started watching you all,
I will keep you in my prayers.
Our thoughts are with you. Sending love and light your way.
Thanks so much guys 💕
Sorry for your family. My prayers are with you.
Thanks for your prayers Eric
Sorry to hear this news. Definitely adding you all to my prayers. Stay strong and cherish every moment.

Thats wonderful news thanks Cameron!
You can beat it! Stay positive, believe that you can recover and live like you have. You're my favorite cruisers I'll be praying for you too.
Thanks so much Darryl! 💕
Hi both! Hope you are doing good (at least in your situation). I had the same type of cancer. With the same symptoms (swollen lymhpnodes etc. ) received a aggresive treatment (32 radiations and chemo at the same time) and prior to that all my lymphnodes and tonsils were removed in the neck region (neck dissection). It was a really hard time but with the grace of GOD i am cancer free since then. Wish you all the best for the upcoming treatment. If you want to know more please let me know.
Prayers, love and strength to you. 💋🤗
I am one of your followers from Australia and deeply moved by your news. I am supporting your fund raiser. I am a retired pastor of a church. Your in my heart and prayers...

Two things (I have gone through this same issue twice in my immediate family). Stay positive because your survival may dependent on this and if it comes to this, and of course no one wants it to, leave your wife with positive messages from you. Best of luck.
Thanks Eric, yes you are right it is so important to stay positive!
I am so sorry for you and your beautiful family. As someone who is following the cruising dream, we all know that life delivers some severe blows. I wish you the best and if you put out messages to the community you may be able to collect enough to keep your boat. Can you hold off for a little while before you sell it?
Thanks so much Amy, this means a lot! 💕 we will prob wait a month to put her for sale

MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU GUYS YOU WILL OVERCOME THIS YOU GOT THIS JUST BELIEVE
This is what I pray with my son (2) every evening at bedtime:
Dear, dear Lord I pray to you,
Watching everything I do.
Help me do the things I should,
Be to others kind, and good.
We pray thee souls gone astray,
Bless them Lord to find thy way.
Comfort bring the words you speak,
In thy word the truth we seek.
To your promise we are bound,
In thy name we shall be found.
Now it's time to go to bed,
Time to rest my sleepy head.
Bless this bed that I lay on,
While I sleep, and all night long.
Four corners be to my bed,
Four Angels round my head.
One to watch, and one to pray,
Two to bare my soul away.
Guarding me all through the night,
And waking me with morning light.
Thank you...
...Your Name Here'
Amen!
Lots of love from Germany...

Hi, I’m a survivor of Tonsular cancer, I wish you well, if you want to contact me please do so. Please believe me the medical route is the only one... stay very positive you are starting a difficult journey. But there is life the other end, I’m a walking example.. good luck.
My wife was diagnosticated with cancer some weeks ago. we are sailors too. We understand all that you and your wife feel. We send the best thoughts to you. Trust in the science first of all, and I pray for you in my Bhaiṣajyaguru (the healing Buddha) prayers every day.

That’s a bugger 😢, very sorry to hear about the cancer, stay positive, And your spot on about living life to the fullest, you never know what will happen tomorrow. If you can keep the boat you will need it when you get through this challenge.
Thanks so much Kym means a lot
I'm a stage 4 Cancer survivor. Mine had also spread to my lymph nodes. Stay positive, that's the first thing, these days EBRT, Robotic Surgery, Chemo etc is very accurate and gives you a really good chance of beating this. Ask your Oncologist about IGRT. Positive energy coming your way from one survivor to another. You'll beat this!!
Thanks so much Trevor. We are both sending you positive thoughts and vibes your way!!!!! We will both survive this.
@@SailingAlma We will, carry on and Kick Cancer's Ass!!

I have been able to shrink my tumors and they are shrinking more every day (by leaps and bounds). At this rate they should completely disappear within the next couple of months. I was diagnosed with a stage 4 Her2 positive breast cancer (fairly fast moving) and Chemo is not the answer for most cancers, there is a much better way -- most people do not survive it long term and hundreds are curing themselves naturally. Check out "Chris beat cancer" and how did it....I am curing myself of a stage IV that had mestastasized to my lymph nodes and hip joint by flooding my body with nutrition (once again see "Chris beat cancer"). I am also taking incredible supplements that are feeding my cells, making new ones and getting the old ones healthy (improving my immune system to get rid of the cancer). xox
Thinking of you guys❤️ YOU GOT THIS.
Thank you guys for reaching out ❤️❤️
Both my wife and I are cancer survivors. Operative word is, “survivors.”
Trust God, trust your medical team and you can get through this. My prayers are with your eventual recovery.
Thanks so much Marc. This means a lot . Our prayers are with you both as well.

I am so sorry to hear the news my prayers go out for you...stay strong..
Thanks Zeb!
This is sad news. Please stay positive! My thoughts and prayers are with you. I was a cancer patient at 19 years old, and was only given a 20% chance to live. With things changing all the time after a year of chemotopy my chances went up to 80% to live. I am now almost 56 years old and have been cancer free ever since. So stay positive. Live each day too the fullest as you can, and please keep us informed. You can do this! I will pray for you everyday till you get through this.
Wow this is amazing! Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. It lifts our spirits knowing that others survive this. We will keep you guys informed. And you are amazing for being so strong 💪 thank you Bill!!! Much love 💕
You can beat it, chemo works these days. I'm fighting lung cancer and just starting radiation. Be positive you can beat it!
Thanks so much we will be praying for you as well!
I am sorry to hear this, it is not a fun journey. While the treatments can be rather harsh and horrid, it is the emotional toll that I was not prepared for. I never thought that waiting for test results could be so stressful.
I will share one thing my oncologist told me that was some of the best advice I ever got. He said "when you receive a cancer diagnosis, a second opinion is never a bad idea. And when you have a rare cancer, you need a specialist." It really is beneficial to find that specialist that is laser focused on the cancer you have, wherever they may be.
Good luck with your battle, and don't be quite so worried about updating those of us on here, your time with family is the most important thing going forward.
And the money is not as big of a deal as you think it is, just make sure your oncologists office knows that money is a concern for you, and they will find the resources for you.
Great advice!!
Thanks so much Dale! Our prayers are with you as well. Your advice is great to hear. Yes dealing with the emotional toll of test results has been difficult, more than we thought. This is all good for us to hear, thanks again. And our thoughts will be with you too
When I found out I had Cancer, it was my faith in God that gave me strength. It is my hope that you too will turn to God for strength. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am an oral cancer survivor. I’ve had nine surgeries over the last ten years and am currently undergoing radiation and chemo treatments. This is treatable. Please be sure that you are going to a certified cancer center. The Oral Cancer Foundation has a marvelous website with tons of information. A positive attitude and holding on to your goals and dreams will help pull you through this. Sending love and positive vibes to you on this journey. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks so much Catherine for sharing this. We sill look into this for sure and you are amazing for staying strong 💪 thanks for your love 💕
Sailing Alma you can do this! ❤️❤️❤️ I know how overwhelming this can be, especially with concerns over the cost of treatment. The Oral Cancer Foundation also has links to financial help. This is a very treatable cancer. Stay strong, active for as long as you are able, eat good, whole foods to keep the weight up, rest, focus on all the good things in your life. I’m 63 and doing well. I know you will power through this and you can return to your dreams. ❤️❤️❤️⛵️⛵️⛵️
Do not lose hope.
I have read the Quran in the lowest points of my life and it transformed my outlook. Please read the Holy Book - QURAN♥️

So sorry to hear this. Had an opportunity to give Julian a dinghy ride out to Alma in Vero. Your love of life exuded from every pore! Stay focused on each day, dont worry about tomorrow, just today. We just went through this in 2019 and back to sailing. We were at MDAnderson in Houston and would highly recommend it! Wherever you are, hold on to the positives and especially each other. Our prayers are with you. S/V Jaja
We are praying for you both. My wife and I have been living this for sixteen years. Although we didn't get to go away sailing, we have been able to sail locally. In spite of the cancer we have been blessed, getting to see our kids grow to be fine adults and growing old together. The cancer remains, but God cares and takes care of us.
Thanks so much Mike ,yes just the thought of being able to be with my family and watch Aria grow gives me the strength to fight. And grow old with my wife. We are praying for you both as well
All 3 ministries have prayer centers that are manned by people who have been healed and have knowledge from God that brings what you - specifically YOU, Yulian need ! Faith comes by taking in God's Word into your mind and into your heart... add prayer. All 3 also have healing testimonies* you can watch and read to further build up your faith. I'm going to pray for you ALL, but it's up to you to do this spiritual homework. :-) Get Busy * Like Hannah Terradez, Carlie Terradez, The McDermott boys, Niki Weller, Teresa Houghteling, Mike Hoesch, , a baby born with half of a heart - now 13 yrs old.
Thanks so much! We appreciate your prayers they mean so much

You are right it sucks. But stay strong & positive. Your young & strong & I expect you back one day. For me it also sucks as I was loving your vlogs so much. Draw from the energy all your subscribers are sending you. If I may so I love you both. Good luck & get well.
Thanks so much Earl much love to you
I'm so sorry to hear this bad news, but the good side is you caught it early and its survivable, my wife has just finished her 3rd bought of different cancers, the first is the most emotional because you say to yourself why me.
Stay strong, stay positive and keep the mindset I'm going to watch my child get married. You will beat this. Do not every give up the ghost, your going to beat this and get you ass bac on the water.
Wow I can imagine how hard this tough journey has been. Your wife is a very strong person. You are right, that is what we continue to say to eachother, especially in the hardest times, the reminder of fighting to see our baby grow up is Yulians motivation to never give up.
We will keep you and your wife in our thoughts.
💕
It is sad to see your dream put on hold, but life goes on. Sell Alma if you must, you can always get another boat when you beat this Yulian, now you must put all your energy into caring for the family and using your strength to defeat the foe. I personally will continue to support your sailing endeavor even while you step back to wage the battle. Take care of each other and Aria, stay as safe as you can, I look forward to hearing more of your coming battle.
Thanks so much John
Your kind words mean more than you know and really calm us during this difficult time. Your advice is great and we will take it to heart. ❤️
Prayers to you both. Have you looked into MD Anderson in houston for that type. Huge prayers
Read your story on another sailing channel, Hopefully the sailing community can band together and help you out. Bless your family, the sky may look dark and stormy now, but you will survive these heavy seas
There are good ships,
and there are wood ships,
The ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships are friendships,
And may they always be.
Thanks so much Jeff for reaching out and for your kind word
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay safe strong together under Gods shadows.
Yes, you're on the right path, by staying absolutely positive! I hope that the finances can get sorted out in such a manner that you don't have too much of that burden of extra stress added on top - but we see it again and again, how viewers are really generous, and fellow sailors lend a helping hand whenever possible. I helped my previous partner as they went through cancer treatment about 8 years ago (also a lymphoma), and it was not fun doing the chemo, radiation, stem cell treatments, etc., but it was just like doing gruelling work. You just have to work and toil through it. I remember we both said during the treatment - when we come out the other side, it's going to feel great to continue on, pick up where we left off in pursuing our dreams. So remember to keep the dream alive, and look forward to all that you will do together when you come out the other side. Well wishes and love from Sailorama crew!
Thanks so much! All of this is helpful to us. Yes we will definitely need to stay strong, and fight this. We are amazing by the generosity of others especially in this sailing community. Thanks much 💕
I dont know you, but love you in a minute! Blessings, strength, and great hope for a future, well informed and of great faith. We are not promised tomorrow but everlasting.
Thank you ☺️ Shelley

Cancer survivor here, got it at kinda your age and I got it dignosed in the same exact way (lump on my neck)... 20 years ago. I fought it, won it and lived a more meaningful life every since. Stay strong, you all will get through this
Thanks so much and for sharing this with us it is great to hear you overcame this! 💕
My brother who is 51 ..2 years ago had the same thing and did all you'll be doing and is cancer free. It wasn't mentally easy as cancer is the worst but allot of people survive this and carry on.
I've survived this exact cancer twice. In 2016 I was given immunotherapy which cures this cancer. If you can access it, that's what you need. I've also been through tradition therapy, that only lasted about 5 years. Look into immunotherapy right away, it's not invasive but it works and it is new. Good luck. You will beat this!
Wow this is great to hear! We will definitely bring this up! The oncologist mentioned it but it seems like everything is pending on how the surgery goes! Thanks for your positive vibes!!!
@@SailingAlma I was one of the first experimental patients (Maryland State University and Johns Hopkins) with immunotherapy for this type of cancer. I'd had the mouth cancer in 2010 and went through traditional therapy, the cancer came back in 2015 -- the damage was severe to the tongue, throat and parts of the mouth. There was also long-term/permanent damage as a result of the "traditional" treatment (chemo, radiation and surgery). In 2015 I was given 3 months to live, then immunotherapy, which was remarkably easy to get through and not invasive, took the cancer out completely. It was declared by my medical team as a cure. They also told me that if it came back, which cancers often do, that the same immunotherapy would knock it out again. They're doing lots of experimentation with this new type of cure, it doesn't work with all cancers but as far as I know it works with "our" type. Most doctors are ignorant of it because it's so new. But trust me, you need to explore/investigate this opinion immediately. I'd be happy to discuss this more, you can write me at psmithrpm@gmail.com. But I'm all but 100% certain you can lick this thing without having to deal with the horrors of radiation and chemo
Sending you lots of love, strength and positive vibes!! YOU TOTALLY GOT THIS YULIAN ❤️

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. As a stage 3 cancer survivor for 4 years now (Lung & Neck). I went though double radiation treatment and chemotherapy for 9 months at City of Hope. The road will get hard near the end. But keep on top of your symptoms from the treatment. What it does to you the doctors have a remedy for just start them early and get ahead of it. But with a strong support system and the willingness to get up and go to treatment. The innovations that has been made for cancer treatment is amazing it has come a long way. My prayers are with you and your family. Also you'll find out how important your videos are to us that are sitting in a 6 to 7 hour chemotherapy session.
Thank you jeff sorry to hear you went through the same this is definitely not easy thank you for shining some light on our way i cant let this beat me i have a wife to take care of and a baby to raise
