You are so beautiful Sage and I absolutely love Native!!! Been using them for a while now and they're so great and have wonderful scents. Also, I've found having a hot cup of tea before bed helps with sleep ♥ love my peppermint tea lol.
I remember my Mom wearing a scarf wrapped like yours (hers was black with brightly colored flowers) with pin curls underneath. She was a 20-something in the 1940s; she and my Dad were married in 1943. What a lovely video!
I recently lost both of my grandparents last month within 11 days of each other. They met in the late 40s, married in the mid 50s and both grew to the grand old age of 90 together. 70+ years of love and marriage. Later this month they will be having their funeral service together, surrounded by fond memories and love. Together to the very end. You're videos give me comfort and an appreciation for the 40s and 50s as well as an insight to how my grandparents lived their younger years back in the day. Thankyou so much for what you do Sage xx ❤
I’m so sorry for your great loss, but thank you for sharing how wonderfully special their lives were to you! Sage’s videos give me that same comfort from a bygone time that seemed magical to me. So glad you shared your comment with us. 🥰
I looked up empty Pond's containers from the 40's. They are glass with tin metal lids. Super cheap too! Just a thought if you ever wanted to buy one and put fresh cream in it to keep with your beautiful theme. ☺️
My childhood was during the 1950's. I remember watching my mother sit at her vanity for face care & apply makeup. I was fascinated how mascara was applied with that cute little brush. I was slow in understanding that it wasn't needed after the automatic was invented. She continued with the brush & cake. Thank you, Lilley, for showing a time that was & still is. She also used Ponds! 🥰💄
That was such a smooooooth transition into the ad! Best I’ve ever seen any RUclipsr do! 1940’s makeup was so much more beautiful than what girls do today.
Sage, I was born in the 1940's. I love the way you embrace this period. Because of your video I am going to use some of these ideas. I can't tell you how inspiring this video is!!! Hugs from Southern California!
I actually bought ponds cold cream because of you. I’ve never tried it. It makes my skin so soft. Your grandma’s routine has spread to my house in Indiana! 😊
sage i just have to say, thank you! i found your channel on a whim from your week in the life of a 1940s housewife being on my recommended. i have fell into a rabbit hole! i have always loved vintage fashion and aesthetics but your channel reignited that fire. i have bought myself some vintage pieces from a thrift store recently and have been slowly trying out pin curls and vintage looks and i just feel so happy and confident that i’ve really fell into a niche that makes me so happy. thank you ! you’re truly lovely and such a light ❤
Just enjoyed watching this video while cleaning up my fingernails, moisturizing my paws and attempting some overnight heatless sock curls - I hope they turn out. I was inspired by your hairstyles but don’t think I’m quite ready for pin curls. I didn’t know you were a nursing student! I can definitely picture you in that profession. Would you consider making a video about why you chose nursing, how school is going, etc? Take care, Sage - thank you for the wonderful content as always! ♥️
Lovely video, Sage! For anyone out there looking for interesting RUclips channels where they transport you back to these times, check out NASS. He posts remastered videos from the early 1900’s through the 70s. It’s like taking a time machine! Most of the videos were taken by videographers who drove around cities and neighborhoods and filmed everyday life. Kind of hard to explain…. Anyways, have a great day!
Sage, thank you so much for the recommendation of Pond's cold cream! I'm on my second jar and now love taking my makeup off! I used to dread it with the wipes. Lovely, relaxing video as always to end my Saturday with! ♥️
@@mistystricklin3450 I use the cold cream make up remover with the green label she is shown using. She also shows one with a blue label, I'm guessing a moisturizer.
I simply adore these GRWM episodes. When I watch you use vintage products it brings back so many memories. My great grandmother had mascara in a little red box with a tiny brush. My grandmother swore by Pond’s face cream. I remember that glass jar with the metal lid that another subscriber spoke of. In fact, everything was in glass containers…even shampoo (Prell) in the shower…Yikes! 😬😳 As you were applying the cream, that beautiful scent came back to mind. I love your hair, you always look so darling! Thank you for keeping these beautiful moments of vintage history alive! 💄
I love reading vintage beauty books, I just bought that book you refer to in the video from glamour daze, it's such a fun read, great job showing us how it's done! 🙂
For years and years my aunt would comment on how good my skin looked. I rarely use soap - just a hot washcloth at night to scrub off water base makeup, a cold washcloth in morning to help wake up. Then moisturize afterwards. Luckily I have been blessed with skin that never breaks out.
Oh I just loved this video so much!! 💕💕 It brought such wonderful feelings of nostalgia & peace on this hectic Saturday! You are just gorgeous in every way! 🥰 .....and PS can we talk about how much your channel is growing 🥳🥳!! It is WELL deserved my friend! XO from Ohio
Sage, you look lovely! I tried putting pin curls in my hair; I made such a mess that I had to use the blow dryer and a big round brush to straighten it out! LOL! I wasn't leaving the house with my hair going in a million directions. You are the queen of pin curls my dear. Have a great weekend, xoxo's Sandie
Always love your videos and put in an order at Native for a deodorant pack. Thank you for always sharing your vintage lifestyle with us all. Many blessings from Florida! 🥰😇
I love these vintage beauty routine videos despite the fact that it's very different from my own style/routines (androgynous goth leaning, only wear eyeliner).
Loved your hair style this time. ❤️👏🏻💗1940s is my favorite decade with fashion and food‼️💛🤍🧡🏡🌱🪴🍃🌸🍃☕️☕️I miss your weekly vlogs. But I do understand ⭐️You will make a special awesome nurse Sage🚑🏨❤️🤗🤗

This video is such a great reminder that we don't need all of these fancy tools you see people using to achieve a lovely make up look. This look makes me nostalgic for time before I was born. Beautiful!
Love your videos, Sage. It's a shame that we get new videos every other week instead of every week, but I understand that you're a busy nursing student. Uni studies must come first. Good luck and keep up the good work. 😊

Just ordered my three pack ☺️ Just the thank you email from Native is absolutely worth it!!😂
I love that this company offers paper applicators & is vegan. I'm going to try them.
Congrats on your sponsorship!
I'm surprised Ponds isn't sponsoring you now, you've recommended that cream to everyone. They need to get on that!

Sage, you look gorgeous ❤️❤️I love how all women from this era always looked their best. Thank you xx
I agree. I feel like women, well men too, but women truly took pride in their appearance back then. They were stunning, in my opinion.
