  • What makes a good camera? That's one of the first things I thought of when it came to reviewing the Fuji X100 over a decade after its initial release. This was a really fun camera to look at all this time later. I hope you enjoy!
    CORRECTION:
The original X100 does not have Classic Chrome, and the X100 is a rangefinder style camera. Not as I said in the video a “true rangefinder”
If watching this video makes you want to get an X100V you can check that out here: amzn.to/3I7xZT5
If you want to pick up an original X100 I recommend MPB.com for current prices.

It does actually NOT have Classic Chrome. That is one of the biggest drawbacks for me.

I do low-light with it iso 2000 no problem and i guess when u use a x100 u dont expect toget sharp photos its all about the feel and the user experience ☺️

I'll taking a trip to Japan in April. I planned to bid a X-T2 to take pictures in this trip (with one or two film camera), but it turns out that I didn't win the auction, which makes me REALLY upset. But after watching your video, I think I should give a chance to my old X100. You guys absolutely don't believe it that I bought it in 2021 and only cost about 100 USD! Thanks for this video. It makes me feel better : )

my take after owning an x100 for over 10 yrs is set it to B+W and mash the shutter button

Great video. I'm hoping to get one for my street photography.

I own this camera and I love it, I can stick in my pocket and the images are beautiful.

My late dad bought the black edition in 2012 and took about 25,000 photos with it. When he passed, I kept it -- I knew he favored it over his zoom bridge cam (my bro took that unremarkable Nikon). I have a lot of better cameras -- but yeah, this one is a memory of his hobby. I shoot it in monochrome (+1 on highlights and shadows) or Astia for soft colors, turn off the display/evf and use the OVF, and use a 20% cinebloom filter on the front... it's brilliant for that. Most often f/2 or f/8. Simple and easy. I'll pass it down to my daughter when I pass, whether it works or not -- if inoperative, it's handsome on a shelf always.

Just bought one for $200 unfortunately with fungus on the lens. Already got a quotation for cleaning around $40. I still think it’s a win.

Still my favorite camera. I have 2 of them, the x-pro1 and both ricoh gr3's. The X100 jpegs just look real. Fujifilm created a very special camera with the Finepix. Make sure you update your firmware to 2.11 .

I only used the rangefinder, never the screen. I still believe this sensor, despite the low light lack, produces the nicest film character for stills - i didnt buy it for filming/videography.

  • @faresriyam6120

Great video Matthew, really well put together! I wish you get more exposure by time, keep it up brother!!!

No lag or 1 second freezes on my x100, what's the image count on yours? Suspect you have a well used one, mine is still under 1000 images which is mad for a 12 year old camera tbh.

  • @colinscotland2887

The new Fujifilm X100VI has 7 custom user presets that you can assign 7 different film simulations to such as Kodak Gold 200, Kodak Tri-X 400, Agfa Scala 200 etc, how many custom user presets does the 13 year old original Fujifilm X100 have.

  • @krshoreham7634

An outdated screen …lol what do you expect it’s an old camera as you said ..oh and the lag you were moving the camera around in poor light ..it’s not good in poor light as you said 🤦‍♂️
