Most logical video out there ...reason being in most Indian hilly regions ...the most common car you'd find is an Alto...which is a clear testament to the car's off roading abilities along with its proven affordability...and comparing an Alto with its peers on these (off roading) fronts only makes more sense ....
I can confirm to this test, I have been to Gangtok recently and drivers there can beat any suv driver with their hatchbacks and amazing driving skills......

A very sensible comparison actually. Because in Himalayan roads these things are very crucial. I have seen so many altos crossing those steep hills, bad mountain roads, pagal nalas, and some so called sub 4 metre SUV's break their axles or struggle. S Presso is a great upgrade in terms of suv feel, features, space from Alto. Kwid is rich in looks and features, but that engine noise, and it cannot match a Maruti. S Presso is the best car if you don't mind the quirky looks. I own one and I'm from HP as well. I've been actually stopped by many people who loved the car, they were asking about it. Still looks are personal choice. It delivers awesome milege, good power and pick-up, even in the mountains I don't need to change gears much in traffic. I love the Kwid looks and it's features, but they're only good in paper. My friend owns one and it's plastics feel cheap, armrest feels like it would break if you keep your arm for long. Engine noise is well known while rear space is not great. I loved the way it looks and some features like camera and now the touchscreen is improved. My friend is not much satisfied, he regrets to not buy the WagonR. Remember kwid is still a zero star car. Renault can make it a winner of engine is improved. But beating Maruti means insane work in after sales service. That is almost impossible to beat. Alto on the other hand is a proven legend.
These tests are childish and made to promote the spresso. Connecting the dots - Its expected that you will perform better during the second and third attempt. As you are used to it by trying twice. Uphill test both K10 and spresso comes with the exact same motor. Its upto the driver how well he can drive the car. Just couple of seconds here and there and you are awarding 6 to one car and 2 to the other. Overall i would say the parameters chosen had major flaws.
No. Even autocar and powerdrift agree the Spresso has a better handling , better ride, better braking, and the lady from autocar even says it is a better car overall
The real parameters that's useful dynamically is the combination of high ground clearance + short wheelbase which will result in good breakover angle!.. Just having high ground clearance alone isn't enough.. Engine wise good low end torque + shorter gearing..

M the owner of the Alto K10 for the last 5 years, no major issues so far.. But recently upgraded to Hyundai Venue, but still i love K10 and use it for city drive..
Alto K10...the best ever Own an Alto K10 since 2012...have done 95k+ kms in it with all tyre change at 45k kms...staying in Navi Mumbai (Panvel) have been to Ooty thrice...kodaikanal twice and Munnar and Coorg once carrying my family along... Last n not the least went to SPITI VALLEY( 4850k kms too n fro) in March 2019 (can can see the Milestone of Kaza the district headquarters of Spiti in my Profile Pic) in my ALTO K10....n Man,must say this gem din't let me down...took on the World's most treacherous road like knife in butter it was ready to take any bend or curve with ease even in the most toughest conditions be it Gravel,Mud,Sand or Snow...always a proud owner of ALTO K10 n this gem will always hold a place in my garage no matter what car i own now or buy in future.... ( i buyied a S Cross in 2016 but preferred ALTO K10 for my Spiti Expedition...later i buyied a pre owned Mitsubishi Pajero 4x4 MT....but i still have my ALTO K10 standing proud in my Garage)
My brother used his alto K10 on Kishtwar - mindal road which stretches from the mountains of jammu kashmir to himachal. And that's old alto k10 m talking about with rainy weather. And even he didn't expect it to perform that well.
Yeps the killar kishtwar road is so dangerous many cars specially low ground clearance ...they mey stuck in sharp rocks on road and break the oilsumps engine oils leaks mny time
Actually, ABS isn't meant for shorter breaking distances. But for not loosing traction i.e. control. Without ABS, you would actually stop faster. But have wheelspin.
I would never take a car like spresso to a hilly area. Higher centre of gravity in a boxy car with less wheelbase is a big disadvantage you guys didn't think of.
When I was in H pradesh most of the taxi drivers and localities used alto rather than SUVs due to its capabilities , availability of spares and cheap to run . nowadays people are using hyundai as well
I think, S-presso has the issue of stearing return (self centering) after a sharp turn, which I feel after taking a test drive, yesterday, and it is very weird. You people should emphasize this problem for the awareness of the prospective buyers. Even, I took a test drive of Ignis around one year back and felt the same issue in Ignis as well. I am not sure about recent facelift version of Ignis if the issue is still exist...
If last point wouldn't been raised by double, all cars would have same score. Also if Alto had ABS in this test, there is 50-50 chance that Alto would have come 2nd.🙏 Thank you guys

U mean to say ABS not applicable for off road than why Indian govt. Make mandatory to install ABS system in all the cars , as u know in India most of the roads are off roads only, universally accepted ABS system is must in all the cars. Kindly request you pls. I just wanna ask. Have u guys heard of the term learning curve. Same driver driving under same circumstances will perform better after every ride. Because now he knows about the road and conditions. That makes your last test biased. I hope you take this into consideration next time.

I had Alto 800 2014 model & I Drove it 1,84,000 km in CNG. I Had daily Travel of 160 kms and to be honest for daily Travel it's very efficient but it's 800 cc with the CNG with AC makes you cry.

No no no this is wrong. Had if the last scoring was not doubled the total would have been 8 for every car. Which mean every car has equal strength and weakness. Moreover Alto being the best value for money car it will be on the top. Yes the winner is Alto.
In a real life scenario, to tackle hilly rough terrain roads, not only ground clearance, but along with it a shorter wheelbase and shorter overhangs does help.

come on alto k10 is awsm on tarmac too... the braking on tarmack is just accurate if you put down right amount of pressure it stops much quicker than the abs

If you also consider hill climb score 3 then winner is Alto(7), followed by Spresso(6) amd kwid(5).
