I like everything you've got to say about this one, I would like to see Serpent make an RTR of the SRX8T as well. Looks like the handling is very dialed right out of the box. Only other RTR I can think of that comes near the same quality is the Hong Nor X3 Super Sabre
@@bustednutsrc they’re damn hard to track down in North America, and their site doesn’t help much. The regular Hong Nor X3 rtr doesnt offer much, but the “Super Sabre” has kit spec shocks, carbon towers, then the rest is very comparable to the Serpent
If you can, go for a kit, I know it's a bit of an investment. If you decide not to, the Serpent seems like a very capable car, and you can always upgrade it with every one of the kit upgrades. And yeah, everyone that heard it said the engine sounded great, runs so good too, I am impressed!
@Alexander Ramos The engine on the SRX8 is very easy to tune, and it holds the tune very well. I'd say they are both very user-friendly if you will. However, I think in the srx8 engine, very small changes on needle settings yield bigger changes, in other words, make very small adjustments at a time when tuning.
Hey bro look you have inspired me to get my nitro cars and trucks out to run again. I’ve been a very big fan of my Nitro RCs for a very long time and again you have just inspired me dude. @johannesb.1658 That's right. I had been using Bones here and now they are not making fuel anymore. So now I gotta buy VP which is definitely more expensive.
I agree from what I see adjustable turn buckles, all metal shocks & caps. all the other cars have plastic shock caps & none adjustable turnbuckle. for the price & quality with adjustability I would buy it.
The Losi is great, you can't go wrong with it. The Serpent in the other hand is a bit higher end, more track oriented (even though it is a rtr still). Better balanced, better engine, again, in my opinion. But at the end of the day, both are good buggies.
Have this vehicle for two weeks now finally broken in ran a nice tank through it take the body off noticed that the star accord handle is melted in the cord for the starter is wound back inside I must've put the starter cord in the wrong place while putting the body on. secondly I do regret buying the buggy even though it is a very nice buggy but finding parts is going to be a pain I would like to take the starter off and use a starter box but I can't find the amount or the back plate
I don't think they have a plate for that, but you can get a high performance .21 engine and I suggest getting a starter box! It will transform this buggy into a beast!!
I hear from a friend that the motor may be a Serpent branded Novarossi. Having no experience in Novarossi motors myself, how likely do you think this to be? You stated on the vid you think it’s an F, does running the motor confirm this or is it spicy? Thank you, great vid 👍
Hard to say, but possible! In the past they did use Novarossi engines but they were different. This one looked to me like a force engine initially but it ran way better than any force engine I have ever worked with.
It's unlikely, the .28's or bigger engines have a larger spacing between bolts. But I can actually check Saturday as I am getting a .28 engine to test.
Hi , what do you recommend Serpent SRX8 RTR or Kyosho MP9 TKI4 v2 RTR? Overall you could make a comparison strengths and weaknesses and which one do you think is the best and why? Thank you
Hey there, the Serpent SRX8 is in my opinion way better than the MP9, better quality all around, better engine, better balanced, better electronics.. I owned the MP9 and ended up selling it, felt more like a basher while the Serpent feels like a good compromise between racing and bashing if you don't want to go for a kit.
You dont want losi truggy. With stock gearing its super slow. I also have serpent, I actually bought a second serpent because they are the best rtr buggy for the price
Can't decide between this and the HPI wr8 as my 2nd nitro. I know they're completely different but I feel like you get more for your money with this Serpent and the versatility of it being a buggy.
@@bustednutsrc I'm gonna go with the Serpent for sure, I had a quick question though. Is there any benefit (Engine protection wise) in running an inline fuel filter on these? I noticed the fuel tank already has one built in, but are they sufficient enough? Any downsides to running another in-line filter?
@@ogurtticus The only downside to running an inline filter is that it becomes another point for leaks to develop. It's not a bad idea in my opinion, but not absolutely necessary. I'm sure you'll love the Serpent, best rtr buggy out there hands down! I might order the WR8 to review it by the way!
@@bustednutsrc Thanks for your input, I think I am just gonna leave the lines alone lol. I assume the clunk filters inside the tanks do their job probably better than some little mesh screen, I think its just adding another point of failure adding an in-line. I would highly recommend the WR8! I just bougth one and it will arrive this week. Are there any upgrades or things to be aware of?? what glow plug do you recommend? I use LC3 or LC4 OS engines.
Hey there! Glad you picked this one, it's a great buggy. As far as upgrades, you can use the ones from their race kit, I would suggest getting the aluminum servo horns to start with and getting rid of the pull start if you can. It's an awesome buggy for sure, you will love it.
Depends on the battery you go with. But it's a good idea to buy a charger that's capable of charging different types of batteries.
