The funny thing is that Max0r’s version of Armstrong’s speech is actually toned down from the real one.
The quote "Reality is stranger than fiction" (maybe rewording it to "Original is stranger than Paraphrase") fits nicely.
Most of the speeches in this are bastardized versions that are less doomer and more memey

Big Boss is based on Snake Plisskin.
Solid Snake is styled in the same vein because he's Big Boss' son, but not the same. He only gets an eyepatch in MGS4.

Also, regarding 15:24 ...Deus Ex, which also came out in 2000, takes place in New York in 2052. The Twin Towers are not present ORIGINALLY because there wasn't enough space in the game's files to load them in. In-game, the story is that they were **DESTROYED BECAUSE OF A TERRORIST ATTACK.**

I think i need to play the metal gear solid franchise. Because raiden sounds bad ass.
Raiden had strength and skill, but he also relied quite a bit on his augmentations. And Sam? Sam relied on only two things, no more and no less; pure skill and beliefs worth fighting for. Sam knew that when a true swordsman takes a blade in hand, there is no wielder. The sword and the swordsman are one and the same; both must be carefully maintained, both must see frequent use-in actual combat and in practice-to keep from getting rusty and dull, and both must be truly understood for what they really are to achieve their true, full potential. Keep your blades sharp, my friends.
Now we need them to react to an actual Armstrong speech.
I find it hilarious that despite max0r changing armstrong speech, it's still more or less the same, just fits the current times better
here are all the snakes , and a brief description for context:
Big Boss: the original , also known as Naked Snake, he is the protagonist of metal gear solid 3: Snake Eater. he is a spec ops/stealth agent turned legendary assassin
Solid Snake: the protagonist of Metal Gear solid 1 , 2 and 4, he is a clone of Big Boss and the face of the franchise
Liquid Snake: Another clone of Big Boss, sees Solid Snake as his "brother" and is the main antagonist of Metal gear solid 1
Solidus Snake: yet another clone of Big Boss, he is the main antagonist of metal gear solid 2: sons of liberty (hence sons of obesity), and also the president during the events of MGS 2 (yeah I know)
Venom Snake: *not* a clone of big boss, but a fatally injured combat medic brainwashed/surgically altered to look like big boss, and to think he is big boss. the protagonist of Metal gear solid 5: the phantom pain
Raiden is the protagonist of 2

Honestly after watching all of Maxor's "reviews" I think MGR is probably his weakest. Maybe it's because I'm more familiar with MGR butI think that's its too overedited, and a lot of it feels muddled by making references where MGR does a good job of showing its absurdity by playing it straight.
I think his Genshin Impact video was the best.

Armstrong is actually a great villain.
He starts off going along with what the Patriots were about, using war as a business. But after some time and a short fight with Raiden, he reveals he actually disagrees with the Patriots.
You see, he wants to END war as a business. But to do that, he needs to become president so he can have the power to actually do so.
So, he must use war as a business to get into a position of power so he can end war as a business.
He hates that people sign up to fight and die in wars they don't understand, that people fight and die for causes they don't believe in. He hates that people are restrained by society, and shackled from reaching their true potential.
To him, ones own reasons, their own values and beliefs, is something truly worth fighting and dying for. He doesn't believe that people should fight and die for the beliefs and values of others, only their own.
He wants to burn America down and rebuild it, to make America great again (Reagon quote, not Trump). To him, the government has too much power, and only takes power from the people.
He has a lot more that you learn from his actual speeches in-game, but I'm quite tired so I can't remember all of it.
Thing is... he's not wrong.
Now, hear me out. He's absolutely going too far with it. I do not agree with his extreme "might makes right" and otger philosophies. But I do agree with him to an extent.
One thing is that power belongs to the people, not the government. Now, obviously, not to the extent Armstrong believes. There's a reason governments are necessary.
But, as the saying goes: "Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program."
That was from Milton Friedman.
The government, when it gets power, refuses to release that power.
To be honest, Senator Armstrong is an amazing villain. He has his ideals, his values amd beliefs, and his dreams. He is also consistent with them. Sure, he has a facade of something he's not, but when he reveals his true beliefs he has such *passion* in them that it's hard to disagree.
I guess that goes to show the power of charisma and passion.
I believe that when someone is truly passionate about something, they become far more charismatic when it comes to it.
Armstrong holds his beliefs, and is acting towards fulfilling his dream. When he speaks about it, he speaks from the heart. He's honest about it, and in the end Raiden actually does what Armstrong wanted him to do... Fight for himself, and not for anyone else. Not a nation, corporation, or anyone else. He fights for him and him alone. Raiden fights for what HE wants and believes.
I actually think Armstrong could have convinced Raiden. It's just he mentioned "purging the weak".
But "the weak" is different to Raiden than it is for Armstrong. For Raiden, "the weak" means people who can't defend themselves, and who are in positions where they can't do anything to change their circumstances.
For Armstrong, "the weak" are people with no true beliefs of their own. People who need others to tell them what to do, because they have no cause to fight for. "The weak" are cowards and liars who say they believe one thing but act in ways that contradict that. Like Hasan, that idiot of a streamer, actually. Hasanabi is basically a perfect microcosm of what "the weak" is to Armstrong: People who say one thing, but their actions say something else. People like that cannot be trusted, because you can never know what they truly believe.
Armstrong, however, is open about what he believes. The only reason he hides it is because he would never be able to fulfill his dream if he doesn't do what he's doing. But unlike Hasanabi, Armstrong is only using the things he hates because he needs that position of power to incite real change, and make his dream a reality.
I think Senator Armstrong is one of my favorite villains if all time. He's definitely a real meme of a man, and a gigachad, but while he's an extremist he *does* have a point to make... albeit, not to the levels of extreme he talks about.
Armstrong makes an excellent point... On the surface, look a bit deeper in, and you see he's fucken crazy

Raiden has CANNONICALLY killed the US president, A senator, hundreds of police and has blown up the New York Stock Exchange, World Marshal HQ, and a Pakistani military base. and he is the "good guy" of some of the games.

US president was killed by FOXDIE after he decided to cooperate with terrorists and gave them nuclear codes, Solidus was an EX president and a terrorist who wanted to use nukes to cause a blackout in an entire state to "liberate it", Senator Armstrong wanted to stage the assassination of the US president and cause war with Pakistan, World Marshall was directly working with Desperado which resulted in the death of the president and destabilisation of Africa, they kidnapped children, botched them for organs and wanted to use their brains to turn them into cyborg soldiers. So yeah, Raiden still is a good guy

Kira & Kit's mic were a bit too low in the volume department in my opinion, I know you guys are trying to find the right audio balance which is awesome but this one was definitely a tad off.

Fun fact about the two towers, there was a lot of media depicting them being destroyed, more than 30 movies and idk how many games, the most memorable for me was Deus Ex which also came out in 2000.

Just remember; You have done the greatest things too, and you yourself haven't wasted your time. You have the best goddamn history, you have wonderful people and culture in you, and there are those of us out there who still know and appreciate that history, and are rooting for you and for things to get better, all the way.

One of the hardest bosses is the only one without cybernetic enhancements, Jetstream Sam, yeah, he's not a cyberorg, unlike Raiden, who's just barely stronger than him. That's impressive as hell.

One more thing I can chip in, while rewatching this. There's a lot in motion in the lore of the Metal Gear series; one thing I'll rewrite for here is...
Big Boss never heard Liquid Snake's last message to him. Big Boss reached the same epiphany in the 70s that Solid Snake did in the 2010s. Skull Face's true victory was keeping Solid and his father from reconciling - Big Boss never learned that Venom Snake killed Skull Face. If Big Boss and his son had reached an agreement, Big Boss would never have gone on to build Outer Heaven.
If not for Skull Face, Big Boss and his sons - Solidus, Venom and Liquid - would probably have led decent lives as far as clandestine paramilitary agents go. Maybe the words that kill are the ones never said.
Their mics are a bit too low, but otherwise it's great.

Big Boss aka Naked Snake was the protagonist of 3 because that takes place like eighty something years before the very first original Metal Gear game. Metal Gear 1, 2, and 4 are all about Solid Snake, one of Big Boss clones or genetically crafted descendants.
