As priceless as the footage is, the 'reel' value is that folk like Reel Life are dedicating so much time and effort into ensuring that future generations will be able to see how good we had it 'back in the day'. Thank you!

This is one of the best videos I've watched of old school downhill ski resorts I spent 4 years skiing Red Mountain in Rossland BC in the mid 80's . Just a rental shop and a pub at that time . Went there last summer on my motorcycle . It's like Whistler now . Condos and expensive hotels everywhere ! Oh . Also . The people in these videos are excellent skiers !

The well preserved church mentioned at the 7:20 min mark of the film is the Kettle Valley Church. Windows in this church came from the original Phoenix Church near Greenwood, which became a ghost town with the closure of the Phoenix mine.
The film was shot in 1964. I recall staying in Osoyoos that summer in cabins on the east shore of the lake. The Whiting Family were early settlers in the Rock Creek and Kettle Valley, circa 1909, where there is still standing "Whiting House". The general store was run by the Whitings prior to them selling it to their good friends the Gain Family. My grandfather Henry Wilfred Whiting was a Horticulturalist for the fruit growing enterprises and he was also the Railway Agent for the Kettle Valley Railway.

7:20 I am pretty sure this is St. Mary's Anglican Church at the corner of the Kettle Valley Rd S, and Hwy #3

When I watch the old clips from 50 plus years back I always notice how there are rarely any over weight people in them.

Hi Randy, long time no hear! I was talking to your sister, Christine at the 2023 Vancouver All British Field Meet where she was showing her Triumph. I assume you remember David Gilmour, he also took part in that conversation and I learned that your sister has been getting David to work on her car.
