@@DavidLLambertmobile And I’m in the state of Colorado that adds another $5,350 incentive on both new & late-model used alternative energy vehicle sales
Definitely keeping my eye on this model and trim! 360 bird's eye view is a life saver for me. Auto dimming side mirrors is a cool feature to have also😊
I love this trim for the CX-70! I want to least this trim in Polymetal Gray with this beautiful red Nappa leather interior. It gives that perfect stealthy & vibrant contrast
I just got one with the colors you mentioned 2 days ago. It’s beautiful!! Very happy with it 🙌🏻😊 I was considering this and Acura MDX but once I saw and drove the CX70 I made the choice to buy it.
i just recently bought myself this exact model and i love it. sadly because i daily drive it i already have over 3000 miles on it an i ended up hitting a deer with it. and because it is so no and parts are not as readily available its cost of repair is just over $20,000.00 thank God for insurance!!!!!
So many naysayers! I was considering an Acura MDX, but their styling to me is a bit dated. And the Type S is too spendy. I'm either going CX-90 and fold the third row down, with Captain's chairs, or the CX-70, and not worry about the comfort of the passengers. I had an RX 350 and when I had passengers, nobody complained about the second row comfort. I'm also a lot more concerned about how the audio system sounds, than the doors. The Mazda has awesome styling. Decisions, decisions. Thanks for the excellent review!
I would personally go with the turbo s, the PHEV is still an excellent choice and I might go with it over the standard turbo model, but this turbo s just feels a step above 👍🏼
@@WTFCRLT1 Since the std. I6 CX-70 produces 280 hp, it’s safe to say both of the Premium CX-70s w/369 lb-ft of torque, the PHEV at 323 hp and Turbo S at 340 hp, soundly thrash it!
Excellent review on a superb machine. I wanted you to take the cover off the engine to show that shimmering inline 6 .Your outfreakingstanding review pretty much won him over nonetheless.
Cx70 has a better side profile. Cx90 is the definition of long. The rear also looks better and the design more intentional as it isn’t accommodating rear passengers. If 70 had the same ice engine option, it would make a more appealing total package for a two row
I agree, its to big for a 2 row. The back looks like a van 😢. If only it was a bit short, i would have definitely consider it. Also no foglights? 😮 that really sucks.
I was thinking of getting the 2025 passport too but I just saw in a video the passport is keeping the 9 speed transmission, which I understand there is a class action lawsuit against Honda from when the 9 speed trans was in the Pilot. If that is true, I won't be getting it even though the upgraded interior, sound system, and infotainment screen are appealing. My concern with the cx70 is the turbo engine, which means better power and gas mileage but at a cost of reliability and repair costs. Hope you find something good.
i absolutely love Mazda. I have had a 2018, 2019 and ever since my 2021 CX-5 Turbo. With all that i will never spend over 50K on a Mazda. It's a great brand but not refined enough for me. performance is very lackluster and the technology still doesn't compare to the competition. At this price point you mean they couldn't add any sort of interior lighting? like spice it up. It's boring!! My next vehicle will be the GV70 !!
@@ELP1125Essentially, yes it is, although there are some subtle differences in styling & driving characteristics. The problem is: Americans don’t do “subtle”!😮
I disagree that the decision was bad to offer a 2-row version; I do agree calling them different model designations altogether was a bit of a bonehead move!
The 70 had potential but Mazda came up short by rebranding to 90 as a 70. It makes no sense to buy /lease a 70 when you can just fold down 3rd row seats on 90 and have that flexibility, if needed.
Sad enough that I bought one. I didn’t want a 3-row, in fact it was a deal breaker. Wanted a lot of cargo room and 6 cylinders or more, realizability, big back seat (car-seat), good handling, decent luxury, good quality, no chrome, and a good dealer network (bye genesis). Fit the bill perfectly.
@@JpOcDenver Yep! For me, too. A Premium Plus trim CX-90 has 2nd-row Captain’s Chairs, also a deal breaker for me; my 60/40 split bench backseat will belong to my doggo (in all his/its glory), & leaves enough rear space for a mtn. bike here in Colorado! I look forward to this reviewer’s look @PHEV, which is incoming to me from Japan next week! (BTW, I was told red (& black) Nappa leather were exclusive to the Premium Plus trim CX-70s. Apparently, not so true as that.)

This is two big for a 2 row! They should've brought over the cx60! Also the 6 cylinder turbo will be very expensive to maintain! This looks nice but in person it still feels cheaply made such as the hollow door sounds! And having to use the scroll dial is not good in 2024! Mazda isnt a luxury brand though!
No. It absolutely does not feel cheaply made. And Mazda is indeed a mainstream brand. They have never claimed to be a luxury brand. They've built a vehicle that legitimately competes with and in some cases out does genuine luxury models, while costing tens of thousands less. And if the sound that the doors make when you close them is truly a deciding factor for you to want to spend 10 to 15 grand more in a vehicle, then you're not the target buyer anyway.
Beautiful car inside out, absolute feel of luxury without the crazy price tag
With the new PHEW federal tax incentives, $7500.00 & other offers the new Mazda line, CX70 looks ✅️ .....

Mazda has made significant performance improvements, and the style looks fantastic.
Couldn’t agree more! 👍🏼
Just got mine today, have had several BMW's, the interior is the finest I have had, the drive is over the top in sport.

My 1998 Audi A6 had dimmable mirrors.

Love this 70 especially drive train setup cx90 feel like just a bit too big imo
Nice .. Rims should be all black too. No remote start?
Yes it has remote start from your phone
Push button from inside vehicle cabin (like most Mazdas for ~10 years now); remote start via the connected smartphone app.
As the owner of a CX9 I don’t trust Mazda into their 1st try as a mild hybrid. This all new powertrain has issues as there is many recalls on the 90..
How about their full PHEV CX-70/90 coupled to the Mazda 2.5L I4? They’ve been making that ICE forever and a day….

Why get rid of the third row? Was it not selling? This appears to be a bad decision.

All that wasted space. Put the damn screen on the front not on the top. Big land of nothing between where the screen is and the temp controls

You can tell this was just a quick cash grab for Mazda. Like they gutted a CX-90, stuck some cheap plastic grille parts and called a "new model", sad.
