If you use products on your horse's mane and tail (I like Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Leave-in Conditioner) you can brush every day. It will actually condition her mane and tail and you'll be surprised how healthy and shiny it looks. It does not get thin if you use a good conditioner/detangler.
