This is the first Single Malt I have ever bought for my home and I love it. $25 and I would certainly buy it again. This is a hidden gem that many will overlook because of the price.
In Ukraine it cost 25-3 EUR. This for sure one of top choice for this money. Great value for its price. You can’t compare it to 100-150EUR whiskey. If to look it through price point it for sure very very good spirit. And its truly peated a bit to my nose. Perfect option for everyday consumption, would not spoil it with cola
It is sweet but it’s robust but not as bitter as suggested. It leaves a sweet aftertaste. Decent affordable single malt! At the end of the day it’s what the individual prefers. 4/5 from me!
Good review- I would say this is good for new comers - on the sweeter side- I think it is aged for almost 8 years- Very good for it's price 20-30 in US dollars for a single malt scotch.
It worth the price IMHO, it's strong and known flavor. I do recommend this one to everyone, you will not be disappointed with relation price/quality. Have a good one
Loch Lomand original has very intense aromas and flavors and isn't bitter to my palate. I think you need let this one open up a bit more after pouring it from the bottle to settle down or add some water to it if the concentration of flavors is too much for you. I get a very tropical juice palate including orange and pineapple with a short drying finish with the slightest hint of peat hiding underneath it. Very good value for an atypical single malt.
@@EuropaWill ok ,well im looking at another vid by horst and he is showcasing lochlomond single grain but the big cicker turns out its still made from 100% malted barley but distilled in a column still and not a pot so by latest law they can not call it single malt although they should not be calling it single grain either because that is very confusing to buyers,,yet im sure they probably do have real single grain whisky made from grains other than malt
Buddy the original a few years ago came in green bottle recently I got the original travellers exclusive and the bottle is transparent with same details .. Does it taste the same? I got it in Bahrain duty free and quite disappointed with price was USD 45🥺
I love this guy. Reminds me of Werner Herzog. I agree sir. I did not detect any smoke or peat as well. And I picked up on the bitterness. Definitely better when you first pour it to let it sit for a while. For $25 I’m not upset I bought and I’ll finish it, but I wont buy it again. I don’t mind it neat but for me it leans on the side of a mixing Scotch.
My tasting was very sweet followed by strong oak. Got some char. That ending reminds me of a super strong... banana wine? Like... it came on warm, rounding off, back nasal passage of banana, and an ethanol burn.

Love your reviews, but everytime I try a whisky it always taste like wood or oak and i can't get the fruit, sweet or any of those flavours when i try a whisky. The Problem is in the Whisky or they are all like this ? one more or less obviously it will depend
That's so strange because in south africa the loch lomond original using the same bottle and packaging the abv says 43%😮🤔😐🤨🤥🤥🤥🤥naughty naughty has someone been telling some lies or has the company been telling tall tales??? Sumfin wierd afoot I say sir.

I like the sound of this. I love a challenging whisky with some heavy astringency in the development.

To me it's one of the best whisky I have tasted on a 21.00 dollar markets... Smooth to perfection is true on that price range.

Would love to see a true blind tasting review without knowing where the scotch came from or it’s price.
Loch Lomond 18 is one of my absolute favourites!
Absolutely! Give the 18 some time and it is a very unique, rewarding dram.
Both the 12 and 18 are awesome.....
This is Captain Haddock's whiskey.
And the Reserve ?
Loch Lomond is actually my favorite! Mmmmmmmmh!

do they make a single grain or a single grain blend?
@@ARCSTREAMS unfortunately I have only seen the Original and the 12 year in the stores I've visited over the past few years.

Try the Reserve
I like smooth whiskies like this one, or green spot, nothing to be ashamed of. Crearly it
is not a whisky to mix with coke
Loch lomond 12 is an amazing product. I bought this one recently but not yet opened. Now I will think twice before opening the bottle.

I just paid $16 for a bottle. Probably one of the better whiskies you can buy for that price. Although a Bourbon, BiB Evan Williams is right up there.
Hey buddy have you done the loch lamor 12-year I can't find it on your site

Hi thanks for the review, roughly how old would you put this one at?

Is the blend with er ahem "words to it" High Commisioner by any chance & guys damm for £14 a bottle HC is not a bad blend at all when times are tight
Sounds like the perfect dram to have with a big, sweet Scottish Ale.
You should try Laphroaig select with a pint of mcewans champion

loch lomond is $50 in Canada not $25 and definitely not worth the price...i do detect some peatiness on the taste but yes so bitter and over-oaked.
Wow Canadian money has lost it’s value; Trudeau is a turd just like Gavin Newsom ; Canada is too much like California or England.
Enjoy it while you can, no doubt that dictator trudeau will make alcohol illegal soon
Perhaps they need better more interesting casks and none color
Not for me...
when horst starts muming mmmmm mm mm its not a good sign contrary to normal ppl
Tastes like coca cola imo
