Thanks to you, I started to pay more attention to punctuation. Yet again, another great lesson with clear explanation and a couple of great examples. A few weeks ago, I wouldn't have put a comma in the first sentence, and now I know it would've been a mistake. Keep up the good work! You're my favourite YT teacher!

I hate to be pedantic, but 'after going to the cinema' is not a subordinate clause. It is a prepositional phrase acting as an adverb. 'Who I met ' should be ' whom I met'. As usual, this is a great lesson.

Actually, I have a question. In the description below the video, you wrote, "In this lesson we learn the difference..." I was wondering if "in this lesson" isn't an adverbial clause, and hence should be separated from the rest the the sentence with a comma...

Actually, I studied English for 5 years and I also worked abroad, but unfortunately I've forgotten some part of this language. I mean some words and main rules. But I will make it better. For sure I will. :=)

    Dear Prof, it's I again:
I was hopping if I might dare ask you a question .
Are these correct ? And About punctuation ?
-Complex sentence: If I were she, I would get that opportunity, unless she were completely stupid. ( 2 DC + 1 IC)
-Compound complex sentence: If I were she, I would get that opportunity , and I would resign. ( 1 DC e 2 IC)
-Compound complex sentence: If I were she, I would get that opportunity ; therefore, I would resign. (with conjunctive adverb)
Please, I do apologise for disturbing you. I pay my respects to you. Andrea

Surely using the coordinating conjunctions also turns an independent clause into a dependent one? For example, "But I am happy". Is that not a dependent clause?

    Hi dave,
You mentioned the conjunction " AS " as a coordinating Conj. in the semicolon lesson. But here you put it in the subordinating Conj. Could you please explain this?

    • @MrSkypelessons

+mojtaba seyedi Sorry! I made a mistake there. 'As' has at least 3 different meanings, but it is used as a subordinating conjunction.
