The Smiths Shocks are English. As cast in, the makers were Frank Smith and Co of Elland, Yorkshire, England.
Don’t mention the English👌🤣🤣
This build is one of the coolest builds on RUclips. Freaking reminds me of Indian Larry's bikes.
This is without a doubt a massive compliment!
Hope it finds a good new owner
All the best and thank you
Look online for “1/4” woven mesh” for something very similar to your grill. It looks almost identical to the same stuff they make Model A radiator guards out of. Gotta say what an amazing race car!!!
Accurate Screen and Grating in Fort Langley would be my first stop for lattice wire mesh although I have bought some heavy duty stainless lattice mesh from Metal Supermarket in Langley for an air compressor finger retention barrier. Continental Wire, CW Cloth has a meshing collection too mainly for aggregate sorting duties and they're a Calgary, Alberta company with a Vancouver outlet last time I checked.
Edit: Phosphor bronze woven wire mesh is available with all kinds of details if you don't mind going into multiple days to order.
Another brilliant video. The Midnight Special is a total work of art. Loved the photography too. Very professional job all round.
An amazing work of art and craftsmanship. Finally perfected the grill and with the brass windscreen and polished louvers she is perfect. This has been one of my favorite builds to watch and I never get enough of the Midnight Special. This is one you should always be proud of.
Thank you very much Joe!
Full custom, yet still a classic! Nice job!
Mighty fine ride. A real classic racer
Simply, A thing of Beauty
🦘🇦🇺 Whale, Oil, Beef, Hooked !!! Josh actually did some great work. 😲 I thought he just hung around the workshop eating, shitting & getting startled.
Seriously Jordan, Ben, Josh & team (....including that Canadian midget, Karl) a top effort 👏👍 on both the video & the build.
The Midnight Special certainly is a special piece of automotive art. ❤️🇦🇺🇨🇦🏴
Hello Jordan I know of a couple of brothers who had midget racers. One had a fiat twin cam engine the other bought a V860 that turned out to be a junk engine. So not to disappoint the better half, stuck a 350 in it and didn’t let on. Any way he did a three thousand mile road trip in it from south of hull all over Scotland! A brilliant pair who always had a smile and something on the go. Take care all the best. Tim.O and I’ve got a photo of my daughter scary sitting in that car.
Stacey in it. She can be a bit scary as well.
I think I would sooner loose an arm than sell that car. Shit a massive decision. But when your talented like you are you can make a midnight special two!!!
There will always be another time to create something even better!
Many years ago I had a sure-fire plan to "fix" Formula One: You could have any engine/chassis/suspension set up you wanted, as long as everyone used the same skinny tires on spoked wheels. This car just looks right.
So true and it blows my mind.
That car is a work of art. What a beauty!!!
It is GORGEOUS...... Don't do it??????☹️☹️
Masters of metal 🤙🇦🇺🇦🇺
I've followed this build from day one and it has been an enjoyable journey! Thanks for taking me along. The Midnight Special is a work of art!
Glad you enjoy it Dale! Thanks
It's BLOODY gorgeous Jordan.
The new owner can be assured it's a one-off work of art with no shortcuts. Brilliant piece of engineering 👍
Shaun, I've known a few fella's that are as tall as you and they all suffered with back issues. There were two guys who actually resolved the issue. The world is based on an global average height of 5'7". They both started with raising all the counters in their homes by like 4 to 6 inches. Kitchen, bathroom .The one guy worked with me at a fabrication shop. He was talking about the big reno and me and few guys said, hey lets raise your work bench too. That's exactly what we did. Long story short, a year later no more back issues. I would raise that work table in the shop! Best work table I've seen lately is a scissor lift table with hydraulics! 👍
@10:14 with the engine crane .. I looked back at the screen and thought it was a split-screen edit with two Jordans for a minute 🤣
I put off watching this one (hurts to think she might be leaving the stable, needed to take my time). Having watched this build from the beginning, this car has become a part of me, and my heart aches that I cannot make it my own (have the banner schematic you sent me proudly hanging in the garage!). Congrats to the soul that acquires such a treasure, and more than anything...Congrats to you, Jordan and crew! You seamlessly showed us the complex joy of blending art and engineering, form=function, and just damn fine fabrication and dreams made real, into what is and always will be ART! Fantastic video, edits, just keeps getting better! Go Bennetts Customs, and Japhands, PLEASE keep moving forward and allowing us to come along for the ride! Sorry to be so wordzie. Damnit Josh! Got me drunk again! "I could go on for hours, and probably will, but I would sooner put some joy back in this town called malice." You did just that! Hvala! This was brilliance!
Really appreciate this Murdoc, it’s been an absolute pleasure to have the support from you and other like yourself, it really does make the channel move forward.
I think that you can buy that mesh from McNichols Co in Southern California. The parent company is in Atlanta GA,and they have other locations all over the US.
The Special is a credit to your workmanship and attention to detail Jordan, I always thought the bonnet would look better painted but having the louvres bare is even better ....it looks great. Your channel is one of a select few on YT that are worth watching, good content builds and of course scaring the shit out of Josh lol. Cheers Greg
Thank you Greg ! Means a great deal
Outstanding video. Bittersweet as it is. Thanks for the ride.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Outstanding work man, ya all killed it. Hope you get what you deserve for it.
Thanks Rick!
Super sweet. Inspirational work.
I Ben see you guys wow! Great job! I have 2 /1929 model a and 1924 model t and also 1929 ratrod.plus old British bikes.norton.royal bsa.
McMaster car has that mesh in stainless
There is only 1 comment Woooooooooooooooooooow!!! fantastic work of art Like well done
Your a craftsman, excellent work 👍
Well done! 😁
Thank you! Cheers!
Wishing you the good juju.
Body looks deadly nightshade (black plus aubergine) and engine looks black on my iPhone 14 Pro Max!
If business is booming just set it aside. Selling sounds like money is needed. It's a beaut!
Selling will create new opportunities
@@bennettscustomsco Money has a way of doing that for sure! Hey did you and Karl ever talk any more about making a hallock or Duvall style windshield? I really think with the high costs of both there's a lot of guys wishing they knew where to start on a project like that! Thanks and looking forward to whatever is next!
Hi I got a questions.i got a 1929 coupe special.and I think to make it a roaster. By looking up I only need to remove top roof...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY????
I think you'll regret selling it.
Okay hear's the question, does Murdoc twist his noodles lefty loosey because you guys are in the southern hemisphere?
Don’t do it you will regret it 😢
I’d contact a museum before offering it on the open market. They pay top dollar and the public will get to appreciate it. Could drive business, as well and is a MASSIVE tax write off to boot.
Get your back fixed. You are compensating by walking on the other side.
Jordan, you will always regret this sale.
simply a teacher. congratulations.❤
