That's right. Gerry made a cardinal mistake by sacking one of the greatest legends in history of this sport in the ugliest possible manner. He spat on our history and our symbols. He also got rid of Milan's most important Italian player in the last 10-15 years (Tonali) and appointed a non-Italian manager, with the Ukrainian Premier League as his biggest achievement. With those actions, he broke the spirit, image and heart of the club. Gerry has zaro knowledge about football, Milan, Italy and Europe. He killed the will of our stars as well. We got better players than the most of Italian squads, but this club has lost its identity so they look like a bunch of mercenaries with no chemistry, plan, vision, guts, leadership and results. Milan is an Italian club so we need some world class Italian players - which is extremely hard to find these days - able to understand this society, this culture and this club 100% and who are ready to die for this holy shirt in any time of the day or night. We need our identity back ASAP. All the rest is less important.
@obainomilano True, but that part tho was always gonna happen sadly coz Elliot wanted to cash out. Their objective when they took over was to basically make their cash back and flip it to the next buyer. I think the original comment is moreso just focusing on the issues of the new ownership Cardinale and co coz unfortunately the sellers had no choice but to sell to them once they fronted up the money. So the bigger picture issues definitely stem from before Cardinale but the immediate issues are down to Cardinale and the current management.
Anto's Milans take is correct. Mgmt chose Pioli over Maldini because Maldini expected more from mgmt. Pioli is not better than Fonseca. Pioli is a better man manager but not a tactician. Pioli had a fit bennacer, kessie, and tonali. Zlatan and kjear. Other teams got significantly better this season, and Pioli would have struggled just as much as Fonseca. That being said, Fonseca can be replaced.
Amazing shout for Nicolussi-Caviglia. Another one of the talented, Italian youngsters Juventus sold of for peanuts to make room for more high-priced foreigners. Rovella is another one of MANY on this list...
It’s the 2nd time Milan did Maldini wrong… when he retired they should of treated him like Roma treated Totti. Entire career there. 25 years. 5 UCL 7 scudetti + more. Treat Ibra better than him.
The Zlatan comments made me think. Before I write him off as a mascot that's not doing any good I would like to see him get some actual position with some actual power. He is one of those people in life that have a high rate of success when given the proper chance. I say give him some actual power or write this off as a failed experiment.
Why not Zlatan and Maldini together? Unless Cardinale really wants all the credit, I think those two together would be great and Zlatan could still represent Cardinale's interests. Even tho Maldini doesn't like Cardinale's view point, at least Zlatan and Maldini respect each other so they would be able to have difficult conversations. If Cardinale is going to be a Jerry Jones type owner then he needs to go b/c that isn't going to work.
Man to what level we fell that we miss director who failed with the team to quilify into cheampions league and idiot coach who by luck won cheampionship and by luck went to semi-finals of CL. I don't miss them at all we have seen enough bullshit under Pioli and Maldini tandem so personally I miss Ancelotti and from sporting directors Ariedo Briada the person who bought Kaka, Sheva, Nesta, Rui Costa and etc.
Antonio will never admit his team’s flaws, therefore making his analysis lose a ton of credibility. He’ll never be honest. That’s a good quality to have when you’re being questioned in an interrogation room, but an abominably awful one when you’re supposed to analyze.
I think old age has finally caught up to Anto. I never thought I would disagree with Anto someday. Ibra is ruining the team, the americans are destroying the team
3:52 there are lots of players in Milan who have extended their stay before they got rid of CDK. I think it was a personal choice due to Maldini connections with the purchase. I really see a connection because I can name 3/4 players who should not be in the squad!
Maldini only wanted the absolute best for Milan losing a figure like that beloved and someone who signed most of the class players we have currently was a terrible decision
Every team had its struggles in UCL, because it's about to balance the effort to compete in multiple competitions. Inter played most of matches with bench players and is 3rd on the table, with the last two matches being relatively easy and already qualified for the next round. A bad match against Leverkusen means little.
8:40 with all due respect, players’ individual performances and abilities are nothing if you’re sitting midtable in Serie A halfway through the season. Do you think Arsenal fans will milk Saliba and Saka if they don’t win anything again this season? NOBODY cares about individual stars, they come and go. As long as you win trophies, doesn’t matter if it’s Messias or Pulisic on the wing. Trophies and success are the history. Nothing else.
Forza INTER💙🖤 Lazio collapsed after the 3rd goal. They should have called it quits & parked the bus but for some dumb reason they made changes & kept attacking looking for a goal. We caught them on the counter & scored 2 more
Anto is the best, from an Inter fan they should’ve let Maldini go away never.. it’s bad for the whole league it’s good to keep legends by the beloved ones.. Same as Zanetti I would never imagine Javier not being in Inter side no matter what Anyways Inter will with the League and everyone knows it but they don’t want to say it.
our club has gone downhill since Maldini was sacked and Cardinale came in the ambition of the club quickly disappeared Moncada needs to be sacked for poorly building this squad and Fonseca is not good enough
Man Atalanta is good, there are some types of games come in every season, in which the game is very close but you still win by close margin, in my opinion that's the team for the title
Napoli is often disrespected, unfortunately. The northern teams get all the pub. We know how good of a chance we have of winning the Scudetto this year. And yes, Neres is fantastic. Hopefully Neres plays more often when Kvara returns.
Anto is spot on-Pioli definitely played a part in Maldini's sacking, as reported in several Italian newspapers. From what I read, the management held separate meetings with Pioli and Maldini, and they ended up blaming each other. Maldini defended players like De Ketelaere, arguing their poor performances were due to Pioli’s tactics, and even hinted that he planned to fire Pioli. On the other hand, Pioli criticized Maldini for not securing key players, like Botman, whom he believed were essential for the team's success. The reason I believe this is what actually happened is that, right after Maldini's sacking, club officials repeatedly stated in the media-and even issued an official statement-that every transfer decision must now be approved by the manager (Pioli). In hindsight, I think management made the wrong call-they should have replaced both Pioli and Maldini at the time and brought in a fresh direction. As for hiring Fonseca, I don't agree with that decision either. Personally, I would have gone for De Zerbi and given him at least a season to implement his style.
One of the reasons I don't follow you anymore is because Antonio's football ideas are really questionable. He only talks about Milan, is extremely against Napoli and has some really bizarre football beliefs.
Milan and Juventus have very similar club philosophies. They are owned by Americans who have no desire to restore the greatness of the past... that was too expensive. Both clubs are building their foundations on average, foreign mercenaries that have no passion or love for the club. Dynasty's in Italy are NOT bought. They are BUILT. The reasoning for destroying a clubs culture can only mean one thing... focus on market expansion and seducing fans with exotic names. Look at the last two dynasties build in Italy. Juventus and Inter. Same coach and director, sure... but same exact philosophy. Year 1. Establish a strong Italian culture. Slowly add class foreign signings to the established and well-oiled Italian machine. There is a direct blueprint for how an Italian team should build for long-term success. Neither of these clubs are following it. Both Juventus and Milan are designed to wallow in profitable mediocrity until the fans "take their balls out" and demand a change. STOP making excuses for these people. If the club is your baby, you're being a bad parent!! Ciao!ciao! Forza Calcio
Anto stop making excuses for Fonseca, Theo is not playing> then who is playing? Emerson royal? why he is not on the bench, he is the worst player that ever played in Milan...Fonseca is really, really bad coach and just stop making him right...
As an AC Milan fan since 1988 I don’t agree with portraying AC Milan as AC Maldini I watched how Paolo played and to be honest I never was impressed on contrary I think a lot of AC Milan and soccer fans underestimate Baresi and Nesta’s role in that two great Milan generation they were way more important than Maldini. God knows how many times I used curse Maldini and Costacuta for their defensive mistakes. Maldini is the most overhyped defender of in the history of football even Juve’s Ciro Ferrara was better and stable than him that’s why Juve won more scudetto than that two legendary AC Milan generations.
I have never seen Maldini play and what you are indicating may be true. However, if you watched the actions of Maldini closely during his time as the technical director at Milan, you know he was 100% what the club needed. His strengths / weaknesses as a player is irrelevant - he commands respect at a scale no one else does for Milan

@@akbaryuldoshev8983 I agree with your analysis until the last 'in hindsight...' paragraph. I'm still not able to understand how a) Maldini being a not so good player as you claim and b) Pioli criticizing him for not bringing in key players like Botman warrants the sacking of him as a technical director. CdK is miles ahead of Botman as a player as he has proven this season. It is amply evident that the management, in particular Pioli, wasn't patient with him enough and didn't give him consistent playing time. CdK and Origi were the two bad decisions often cited as the reason behind Maldini's downfall and the former definitely wasn't. Man, sacking Maldini is prime example of shooting your own foot.

Milan’s biggest mistake was letting Maldini go. Cardinale basically took what was going great for Milan and said “how can I screw this up?”
