Credit to Fonseca for going with the surprising lineup. Morara and Tammy worked really well. If Leao was on his game they could’ve had more. What Milan could really use is a midfielder more comfortable playing out from the back because Fofana just cannot play that role. He does try to play tough passes forward but he just misses too many.
I think the game was decided on two things. The tactical approach and the courage of the players to execute the tactics. The lineup wasn't a desperate attempt to do something because they still went about playing the game with a double pivot. So huge credit to the players and the coach. To me, Fofana can be a good player when playing from the back, but he just needs to go for the simple passes. He has it in his locker but he puts himself in tough positions almost all the time. It isn't the case of needing another midfielder. He can do the job, he just needs to change his mindset on a simple thing like going basic rather than going audacious. @@dalmar5567 at the moment it's Abraham, Milan have two wingers who fizzle out after playing few minutes leao cannot sustain more than 20 min and pulisic can press for about 40 only , yes pulisic scoring now but he doesn't have any significant moment in the second half of any match recently on the contrary leao is waking in the second half just for few minutes
