- Today we are fishing one of my favorite baits for Spring walleyes. Swimbait are a great bait really all season long. In this video I talk about how I like to work a Swimbait when the water is very cold in the early spring. We are fishing on Green Bay and we are catching a ton of fishing and some big ones the past week. Stay tuned for more spring walleye fishing videos!

Wow, living my dream, and doing a assume job, I've have way to many, kalan, plastic's, somehow never caught a fish, but I look good 😅
Hey Tom. I love you videos. Have you ever used a bladed swim jig, like the StrikeKing Thunder Cricket for Walleye? they remind me of the hair jigs you touted in another video. It can be combined with a swimbait to have the best of both. Thoughts?
By far best fisherman on RUclips! Most realistic, genuine, and far superior than those other clowns!
Not to get too specific but I appreciate the lack of a sermon at the end of every video
Lots try to mimic him as well.
@@bf1255 i dont care for the scripture either. but i do enjoy the content. i love how youtube has let the guys like tom that WANT to share info and help people fish! heck of a lot more fun to watch than sat and sunday am in mn on cable. LESS ADS, TOO! thanks youtubers!
Check out Aaron Wiebe at Uncut Angling. Similarly good.
I love the channel Tom, what type of braid do you like to use? I just bought some nano fil .
What rod are you using? The link isnt working.
Lucky to have your Dad with you fishing. I miss those days.
Great Video as usual
Come up to the St. Lawrence chief
Absolute Favorite place to get tips. Thanks Tom
i think I am getting sea sick
Yes no no
Poor dog......dressing it up.
Long time watcher I,m a beginning walleye angler .the show helps give confidence .in swim baits .where I fish weeds are #1 .speed trolling in the weeds for reaction strikes.great info keep up the hard work an enjoy.thank you.
I wanna eat those fish!
Yeah buddy 😎
Excellent video, I would like to win the reel.
Thanks again for all the information and for helping me become a better walleye fisherman please keep up the great work
How are you fishing when the season is shut down
Not shut down. 1 over 28in.
The river system from the depere dam to the bay of Green Bay is open..like the gentleman above said one over 28"...Theres a couple other parts of river systems open too....best chance at a 30 incher is now...
If you get time can you do a longer mapping and scanning video?
This is why i watch your videos great content..Great job Tom
You need to add 360 mega imaging. It's killer shallow water sand/ mud fishing.
Oh man, another great show! Learning a lot from you, thanks man.
Soon I'll have my morning coffee on my boat!
Your on it Tom. Love watching and learning. Many thanks!
Saw you out there a couple times. I was out Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Did good doing exactly what you did. Keep up the videos. Fun to see.
I noticed you were using. Snap to conned the swim bait. I personally haven't done this and just wanted to ask why you use one?
Another great video packed with information. Getting into Green Bay slobs is so much fun. Thanks for the great footage and info!
With no trolling motor/spotloc, what kind of reduction in productivity do you assume when the big tiller is loud and takes away from your focus when you're throwing it in and out of gear to stay in one place?
Great video as always! Thanks for keeping it real and giving lots of tips. I live in Ontario Canada and we have Lake Nipissing here which is know for some massive walleye so I can’t wait for the water to open up and start making more videos 🤘🏼
Thanks for a clean language video.... teaching grandkids good sportsmanship and clean living
Great video, content, and instruction! Surly is a great dog!
Great video as per usual. A structure map location would be helpful also.
Tom! Don't your fingers get tore up by the walleye gills n teeth?
Tom my son got your technique down faster than I did last two days Saturday and Sunday he caught his pb on that swimbait our goal this spring is to land a 6.0 pounder so far 4.25lbs in NDak thanks Tom you have turned us into walleye fisherman in just two months watching ur videos on RUclips
Tom, when you’re looking on dnr website for gill net numbers, what’s the number you use for the least amount in a net? Lot’s of lakes in northern Minnesota have around 7. Clear lakes not a ton of structures and steep banks. Like trout by GR and Swan by Pengully. Any thoughts are appreciated
Any reason why you decided to use a snap and not tie direct? Clearly, it didn’t matter, but I’ve always shy’d away from using a snap when using jigs, so I’m just curious... Thanks again for all the great content!
I was going to ask the same question!
@@joeyfayette2214 that's what I came for was an answer to that question.
@@chadsundstrom1661 He answered it on the other *newer Green Bay video.
Some day, "FISH ON" will be my most common saying.
Love your videos Tom, but Something i have never herd you mention ( probably because no one has asked) is there any difference between fishing big lakes like you do with many walleyes and small lakes with few stocked walleye like we have here in CT?
So happy for open water again!!!
I want some gloves like that! Where did you find the? Must keep your hands warm?
Takes some guts to open up a walleye’s mouth they way you did at 3:00.
Awesome video man plan on hitting bay also for some greenbay gold just not sure which side to launch from😂
Another great video Tom. Very useful fishing info. Keep it up!
Tight lines
Been watching your vids for a for a while now and have to tell you ,I absolutely enjoy every one and always look forward to the next one. Like your stile and I learn a lot.Keep up the very good work. Thanks Tom .
Hey Tom, love the videos but I have a question.
When you're drift jigging, how deep are you fishing? The lake I tend to fish is a big bowl, the Walleyes are either in 12'/weeds early, or 25'+ around mid summer, I try jigging but if the boat is moving faster than .5mph I can never keep contact with the bottom in deeper water, any tips?
How fast was you trolling? Nice video
Always learn a technique from these videos. Keep em coming.
Are you still crazy glueing them to jigg or did you come up with something better?
Thank you for your excellent videos
looks very familiar. i lived in that area . those fish are just getting going wait til post spawn they really start chomping !!lots of 50 fish days out there. great work tom keep er going !!
Tom really enjoyed your video with some simple advice with video to understand?
Ever fish up in Canada, North of Toronto?
I’m up north of Toronto! Lots of great walleye spots around here
Mantra Fishing where about . How far north ?
@@kevinmurphy8572 up in North Bay lots of great spots here and in the surrounding area
Mantra Fishing that close to me lol. I'm on the Montreal River @ Portage Bay (Cobalt). Lots of awesome Walleye in the River !
@@kevinmurphy8572 is the montreal river open water yet ?
We are still ice fishing here
Awesome walleye fishing in GB! Very informative video.
hes a legend
still 40"s ice in northern Alberta
Those Arkansas shad paddle tails worked great for me last summer, even as a shore fisherman. Caught about 6 bass in an hour.
Ever went out for the Erie jig bite early April? Best walleye fishing I’ve ever been a part of. Then go troll for the big girls if it’s calm.
Clear water & color choice. Dirty water & color choice???
Here for reel, hoping for some good luck
Clear simple and precise.no ads. 15 minutes ride yezzeur
Started rip jigging swim baits after watching your videos last year, so much fun and a great way to trigger the Walters
Hey Tom what part of Green Bay, by the amusement park or up the western shore?
Love the green bay fishing hoping to get there soon
As soon as Bass Pro gets my kicker installed....god help the eyes
Another awesome informative video........... thanks Tom....
As always a fantastic video Tom!
Another great video Tom!
Another great video great information and great tips !
Another great video Tom.
Awesome I so badly want to get on Green Bay. Great work man
Tom great video as always
first video w/out the intro!
What’s up with Lue 5:17
What Elliot rod is that?
Another great video Tom! Quick question: how much backing would you recommend to use on the carbon x 2000 if you’re going to add 150yds of 10lb braid?
The reel is braid ready to my understanding, no backing necessary
@@alexgreen7897 I noticed that it has a course section in the middle of the reel. I kind of assumed that was the reason. I’m just wondering now how full the spool will get with 150yds 10lb of braid because it’s only 2lb diameter
@@tommclain8100 yeah can't help ya there, I use kastking braid and get a big ol spool, don't pay attention to how much I put on
You are the walleye GOAT
You need to do a guest guide for a price.
Nice video.
Another good video Tom. I can't wait to hit the Ottawa River. Was very mild this week and the snow is melting fast.
Hoping to hit the Ottawa river too as soon as possible!
@@mantrafishing where you at? I am in Hawkesbury area.
@@HuckThis1971 I’m from North Bay! I used to live in Ottawa for a few years. The Ottawa meets the mattawa river here and I’ve had some unreal days out there!
What rod are you using?
He uses Elliott rods.
Do you guide?
No
