The short edit of our 2019 lap down Hells Kitchen on the NF Stan. It was a personal first for both of us, and I feel sad that I haven't gotten on it sooner! The logistics are incredibly simple and easy (just a short downhill hike from the parking spot, though the dirt road from the highway is a little rougher than ideal), the scenery is AMAZING, and the whitewater is fun - especially if you bring your "big boy/girl pants" because most of the good rapids are STOUT! Even still, everything is portageable so a not-quite-so-adventurous class 5 paddler could still make it a fun adventure trip. I consider it the ugly sibling to Fantasy Falls. Not quite as classic, but just a drainage away and still worthwhile . It also didn't hurt that we ate like river kings (toasted ciabatta rolls with melted cheese and sausage, fancy salad, and mixed up a perfect Dark & Stormy cocktail). 100% would go back!
