When you bought this kind of car, you really had a beautiful work of art, not like the plastic junk that all looks alike today .

In '65 at a local GM dealership there was a powder-blue convertible version of this with white interior & top. It had the 383 long ram motor. Always wondered what happened to it.

Designed by Cliff Voss as a simplified economy version of Virgil M. Exner Sr.'s excellent 1960 Dodge Polara and Matador series. This one is a beauty!

I own a 60 Fury Coupe, actually who designed the 60 full size Mopars is supposed to be a big mistery. Where did you read/hear it was Cliff Voss?

@@bigblockjalopy Virgil M. Exner supervised design of all full size Chrysler Corp. car lines of the Forward Look, 1955-1962. His assistant was Cliff Voss until Voss was fired in 1961. The information is in the best seller book biography "VIRGIL EXNER - VISIONEER" by Peter Grist. Also from years of following all publicity and news about Exner since the mid-1950s. Exner designed the 1960 Plymouth Fury, Chrysler,. Imperial, DeSoto, and Dodge Polara and Matador, completely with no help from Voss. Voss worked on the lower-priced models.

@@TheDejael Plymouth WAS the low priced make and of course the Fury shared the same basic design with the rest of the line. Just the trim was different. According to Samsen, a designer under Exner, the Valiant was the ONLY car Exner designed all by himself. Exner had a heart attack in the later 50s and from what I heart he did not design the 60 Plymouth and Dodge

@@bigblockjalopy I can see you need to read his biography because your sources are incorrect. Exner's heart attack was in July 1956, after he had supervised design of all five lines of the 1957 Forward Look cars. He designed over 40 cars including one-off Ghia designs in Italy with Chrysler, and personally designed the Dual Ghia cars, and his wild 1960 Plymouth XNR sports concept car, as well as the Plymouth Fury from 1956 to 1960. The other lines were supervised by Cliff Voss from his original designs, except the 1961 Fury which was designed by Voss and not Exner, although he signed off on it and designed parts of it.

@@TheDejael the design work for the 60 started in 1957, so that goes together. Some of what you claimed makes no sense, since 60 Polara/Matador and Dart Design is very, very similar and the rooflines were the same on many cars anyway, so claiming, Voss designed the Dart and not the big body Dodge and lower priced cars but not the Fury is obviously, sorry, with all respect, nonsense. I got my Info first Hand from a designer working with Exner for Chrysler back in the day.

Why not a narration by a well-seasoned speaker? Must not have had one available. Owner welcome to reply.

I agree. Mine has the 2 cylinder 2" brakes and they suck. I hate them. Mopar purists criticize me because Im bashing the brakes in my video ruclips.net/video/Xrc_n_Djq9M/видео.html
