I visit Niagara Falls every year and some years, more than once. I almost always stay at the Travelodge and love it. Yes, it is a bit outdated but the rooms are always fresh and clean. Obviously, the best part is the location. I love Clifton Hill! A couple times, my wife and I got a jacuzzi room, which is in the section of the motel attached to the registration office. The balcony looked right down onto Ruby Tuesday's patio. That was ok when we were there in October and November because the patio was closed but in the summer season it would be weird because you would be looking down on the tables where people would be eating. As mentioned in an earlier comment Thriftlodge is owned by Travelodge and you actually go to the Travelodge Registration desk to check in at the Thriftlodge. I've stayed at the Thriftlodge a few times. It is less expensive and definitly more outdated. The rooms were still clean but clearly not as nice. Also, no microwave or mini fridge. I also like to splurge now and then and stay at the Sheraton at the base of Clifton Hill or the Crowne Plaza a couple properties down on Falls Avenue. The corner suite at the Sheraton with the corner walkout balcony is absolutely fantasic! Have you stayed at the Sheraton or Crowne Plaza before? I just found your channel so I look forward to watching your other videos. Oh and my parents honeymooned in Niagara Falls in 1964 and stayed at the Travelodge but back then it was the Honeymoon Hotel. Back then they also had little cottages along the back parking lot and left of the pool. If you walk over to that section of the parking lot, you can still see the steel girders upon which the cottages were built. Back then, the Sheraton and other buildings on the corner of Clifton Hill and Falls Ave were not there and guests in the cottages had a view of the Falls. I have a pic of my mom in 1964 sitting in front of the window in the cottage and you can see the Falls 🙂 Thanks for the nice video!

I always wondered how it would be staying at the Travelodge on Clifton Hill. Thanks for the video. The one thing that I was a little bit sad about was when you mentioned The original Mapleleaf Village Tower and how it's not used anymore. (What a waste) One of our visits to Niagara Falls we stayed at The Village Inn (Now The Skyline Hotel) which was part of Mapleleaf Village. Every time we would go to or come from the Inn we would cut through Mapleleaf Village and its amusement park.

Also miss Maple Leaf Village from my youth! wandering around that area just does not have the same feel as it did for those of us that remember it!

I remember going up in the Casino Niagara tower as a kid. I wish they would do something with the tower but I imagine it would cost too much to restore it

Was parking included here?? Also I would not recommend the 7 days inn! lol I would never stay at a hotel that has barb wire gates around the parking lot, not so much a good area

Parking was included and should be consider one of the advantages as well!

@@more_bumps_ahead there's not many places that include parking anymore so yes that is definitely a plus!

I never expected the price of this place to be over $300 with taxes. That's insane. I was thinking $129/night would be reasonable but it should only cost $79. This place looks like its stuck in 1993. Niagara falls is crazy expensive for what you get.

We were surprised by the price as well but to be fair this was 4th of July weekend - the most expensive there is in Niagara.
