This and Killer Queen are one the same album but are 2 different genres, this is why Queen is special

Queen don't get enough praise for helping creating the foundations of metal.
This song is like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath at the same time.
YES. People disagree. they don't know this song was in Freddie's mind since 1969 . But was just released in 1974

Queen Sheer Heart Attack 1974
While everybody else is arguing that this might be the first Thrash Metal song ever, I'm just here marvelling at the fact that Queen wrote a song that sounds so 80s.... in 1974. They were truly ahead of their time (even in the 80s, they wrote stuff that could be from the 90s).
Just like Black Sabbath's Warning was basically proto prog metal
because people follow a trend, and they were trend setters.
Queen was 10 years ahead of their time up to the very end. Innuendo was an album that fits right in with the crazy variety of pop in the early 2000s.
"queen is pop"
yeah....sure dear!
Iris Freddie Mercury Rock'n'Roll Girl! Most of their music is.
Most of their song??? They played many genre. Listen to queen 1 and 2.
They’re still primarily a pop rock band tho 🤷🏻♂️

Queen NAILED this one.. This is a deadly tune.. The version where Tony Iommi, Brian May and James Hetfield do it at Mercury's tribute concert was amazing.. High energy song. BIG PUMP!

Hard rock with a fast tempo. Hardly thrash. Fucking kids, bah!
The Thing I love about Queen is that they were never boring. They dabbled in nearly every music genre at the time, even creating new ones like this. As someone who loves multiple genres from jazz to heavy metal, classic and folksy, Queen is my favorite band of all time.
And one of the few (only?) rock bands that had every member write a chart topping song.
One of the most kick-ass Rock tunes ever. Not to mention, the entire album is awesome, start to finish.

Whether it is unknown what the first true thrash metal song was, this song was the first to be coined with the term.
This song is already from the late 60s. Mercury played it already with his band before he joined Queen and Queen played it live for the first time in 1970 so long before Symptom of the Universe ;)
Queen is the most versatile band, If Freddy was still alive in 90s,i bet there would be a hip hop song by queen😂
This band rocked so hard when they wanted to....and the musicianship is second to none
Queen is a band that were ahead of their time. This song is one that proved it.

Now go listen to "Bring back Leroy Brown" from the same album...
That´s why the movie nail it. They really focus in Queen´s wide spectrum of music. Each album are like from different bands. Hell, even, as you put, in the same album the songs were from many styles.
Don't forget, this is the band that also made "Love of my life"
This was the blueprint album where Queen found its sound. It was followed by the explosion of Night At The Opera which made Freddie, Brian, Roger & John universal mega stars.
Very strong album with impressive variety, great playing & several high quality songs.
Strong openers, with Brighton Rock & Killer Queen - the band’s first hit & a classic.
Possibly, my personal favorite of theirs, due to its freshness.

It's legit so hard to do the drums from this... that says that Roger was one of the best drummers ever
Yes!!
Brian said he hired Roger when he came in to try out and the first thing he did was tune his drums. Brian had never even heard of tuning drums (me too). Roger Taylor and the late Cozy Powell are two of the best in the world and Brian worked with them both. PS, Rufus Tiger Taylor is pretty good too, good job Roger.

Ah Sheer Heart Attack, my favorite Queen Album, i'll name my top 3 below.
3. Innuendo
2. Night At The Opera
1. Sheer Heart Attack
+Anonymous Mystery My top 3 is:
1) Queen II
2) Sheer Heart Attack
3) A Night at the Opera
:)
+Anonymous Mystery Am I the only one who would put Innuendo as like number 13, 14, or 15? I just don't like it that much :(
+Sydney Huard Maybe not 13,14,15 but I also don't see it being that great. It has some really average songs like I Can't Live With You, Ride the Wild Wind, All God's People or Delilah, i'm not so keen on I'm Going Slightly Mad or The Days of Our Lives, which despite its nostalgic factor its a rather cheesy pop song. But then "Innuendo", is, for me, one of the best Queen songs ever as well as "The Show Must Go On". I also like "Headlong" and "The Hitman" (one of the heaviest Queen songs ever) and i really love "Bijou", one of Brian's finest moments. So it's 50/50... The thing that makes it rated so highly is probably the nostalgia and the fact that has been recorded in the wake of Freddie's illness and death. Musically though, any album from 70's is stronger.
ElFabro Queen II,Innuendo,The Works,A Kind Of Magik,A Day At the Opera,Sheer Heart Attack

2. QUEEN I / NEWS OF THE WORLD
1. QUEEN II

Holy shit Wikipedia is right, I do see this being thrash
MrCapone1996 the first thrash metal song
As for a fan of thrash metal it's astonishing that British did all that stuff in 70s - Black Sabbath influenced heavy metal, Queen influenced thrash metal. They were genuinely something. Love them!
Queen predijo en el 74 la llegada del Thrash Metal 😱😱😱😱
Larga vida a la Reina, a Freddie, a Bryan, a Roger y a John y también al puto THRASH!!!
The first ever speed metal song, This genre never became popular until the late 70's. Its the first ever thrash metal song as well. People always say speed king ~ deep purple was the first speed metal song but Freddie had written this song in 1968 and played with his current band at that time Wreckage. Speed King came out in 1969
The so called "speed metal" is not even a proper genre.
My favorite Queen song of all time. I wonder what music they would have been making today, and what Mr. Mercury would have to say about the world we live in. Here's to you and the rest of the mates Freddie. You all rock. To quote another song, by another great band "Wish you were here" - Pink Floyd.
every time when i find songs by Queen that I haven't heard before, my mind get blown away. woah.
This is on Cruella soundtrack, great choice!
Each member making 100 % a given . If your band has *ONE* good singer , you win . If it has *FOUR* *GREAT* singers , you win it all . Second place behind these guys , would STILL be an honor .
Favorite Queen Song. I wish it was longer and wished they released more songs like this. Raging.
Still one of the absolute hardest rock songs ever written… my god
Definitely an early-mid 70's heavy metal song and a total proto thrash metal tune in itself. Don't think anyone recorded anything this hard, fast and vicious, not even the pioneers of heavy metal themselves, Black Sabbath. I can see why Metallica still go gaga over this song.
Listen to 'Set me Free' by Sweet, released in the same year
Nazareth released "hair of the dog a year later", that fits nicely and Alice cooper was releasing heavy songs in the early 70s
Listen to children of the grave or under the sun by black sabbath, faster and heavier two years earlier
Went to a Queen tribute show and people didn't know this song, this is like the best Queen song
Fr
Imagine making a song THIS HEAVY in 74!!! this is at least 6 years before the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and sounds as hard as any Jaguar, Sweet Savage or D'ianno era Maiden tune of that era. This is textbook definition of "ahead of their time"
