If you think about it, these cars are the baddest cars on the planet. To run under a ten with 5" wide bias ply tires is wicked. If you took these same cars back in time these cars would have wiped out the old real pure race cars like Sox & Martin, Dick Landy, and Grumpy Jenkins. These are the ultimate factory vehicles, real street drivable race cars. I saw Dudek and his dad at Cecil county raceway about twelve years ago with his road runner, It was wicked then as this Cuda is now. This is the ultimate race class. Keep it going!!!!!!

This kind of racing is incredible. To run these kind of times on bias ply tires and stock size wheels. A true testimony to the potential of the Hemi and some of the other muscle car engines. I would also like a schedule of these type of events.

Unreal. Thanks for sharing, seriously. I don’t understand why this racing isn’t covered more in full length event videos. Does anyone know of a website or channel that has current info or videos on the F.A.S.T. and Pure Stock racing? Thanks.

Have you heard of the Cars and Zebras, site? It is totally current. He doesn't cover entire events all at once. He features just 2 cars per episode. Best 2 out of 3 races. Each car gets an in depth look at options, original cost vs cost today, rarity, times as tested back in the day, original factory/dealer commercials, weight as tested and a lot more. Each vid is about 10 mins. He is very accurate also. His only problem is that his is totally obsessed with the Fart sound effect. Pretty much anything over 3200 pounds is going to get the fart.
Actually, the past 3 videos didn't have any commentary at all. He hasn't said why. Oh yeah, he breaks down the cost of every option on each car and the cost of each option.

@@mrkemblegilstrap Yeah, I’m subscribed to C&Z. I made a similar comment in the comment section on his latest video and someone replied that there are less of these events per year and less cars running than before. What a shame. Thanks for the reply.

@@mrkemblegilstrap - Yeah, C&Z covers matchups from the Factory Stock racing but very little from FAST. As for less and being involved I think the fact the races are very regional hurts them. The pool of racers is pretty limited and I’m guessing some of the racers move on to other things due to boredom, life or whatever.

Interesting to watch snd more importantly hear the car run. The engine is clearly built to make HP at very high RPM (guessing at least 7500 RPM). This would push the TQ peak way up to probably around 6000 RPM. Makes sense given the tire they run. Car has to leave like a pig to keep from blowing off the tire. Guessing it probably also runs a really loose converter m. Very interesting and impressive performance given the stock bias ply tire and heavy weight.

I may be wrong about the trap speed, but I believe the first F.A.S.T. car in (or nearest to) 150MPH is the same car that was first into the nines. '71 Mach 1 429SCJ. Actually, it displaces about the same cubes as most of the Hemi & Chivvie guys run...588CID.
