They have a long-standing rule to scrutinize Americans more than any other nationalities. I have an inside source.
Does dudek have a channel???
On bias ply tires... Mother of God!!!
PHANTASM approves 👍
This kind of racing is incredible. To run these kind of times on bias ply tires and stock size wheels. A true testimony to the potential of the Hemi and some of the other muscle car engines. I would also like a schedule of these type of events.
Those aren't really polyglass tires.
That was fun!! watched it twice.
that ‘63 max wedge Savoy got smoked
Gorgeous looking ad super fast on bias ply tires .Wow .
Definitely not a stock hemi.
No. but 50 years later are any of 'em? I mean outside of the collector world where "all original" is the goal?
@@Dogboy1960 I love the way that thing ran. I don't really care whether a car is totally original at all. I actually would prefer taking a nice totally stock classic muscle car and really upgrading the motor and drive train while leaving the stock look.
At least it looks stock 😀
@@chrisvig123 My perfect muscle car right there: I love everything about it.
900-1000 hp NA and that is through manifolds
Would like to hear more about the build.? That is pretty I incredible
Everyone learns the hard way. Everyone.
This is my 2 year old Son's favorite video on youtube, lol. Can't wait to have one of these myself one day.
Hell yea man…how much did you pick it up for? The prices are sky high right now because of COVID and chip shortages, I’m just curious what they used to run for.
what exhuast do you have?
Interesting to watch snd more importantly hear the car run. The engine is clearly built to make HP at very high RPM (guessing at least 7500 RPM). This would push the TQ peak way up to probably around 6000 RPM. Makes sense given the tire they run. Car has to leave like a pig to keep from blowing off the tire. Guessing it probably also runs a really loose converter m. Very interesting and impressive performance given the stock bias ply tire and heavy weight.
Its truly Jr RVW racing
They use a holler efi distributor to pull timing on launch and advance it during the run
My dream car. Awesome 2thumbs up.
He'll be the first one in the 150mph range
I may be wrong about the trap speed, but I believe the first F.A.S.T. car in (or nearest to) 150MPH is the same car that was first into the nines. '71 Mach 1 429SCJ. Actually, it displaces about the same cubes as most of the Hemi & Chivvie guys run...588CID.
The Pennington family is getting close with their Camaro and Corvette. Jordan ran a 148 (not during a F.A.S.T. event) and then set the F.A.S.T. record at 147 a week or two ago.
In the past Dudek hemi's where 484 cubic inches, in hot rod magazine a while back Dave's road runner made in the 860 rwhp range
WOW!!!
If you think about it, these cars are the baddest cars on the planet. To run under a ten with 5" wide bias ply tires is wicked. If you took these same cars back in time these cars would have wiped out the old real pure race cars like Sox & Martin, Dick Landy, and Grumpy Jenkins. These are the ultimate factory vehicles, real street drivable race cars. I saw Dudek and his dad at Cecil county raceway about twelve years ago with his road runner, It was wicked then as this Cuda is now. This is the ultimate race class. Keep it going!!!!!!
This is what they should have been right out of the factory
Bias play tires have better linear traction than radial ply tires.
Could have a decent go at low 9s with slicks! That is madness faster than almost any production car and still looks exactly like a stock car
@@averymacleod6199 Current F.A.S.T. record is in the 9.31 by a Corvette. Just set a week or two ago.
Wow!!
👍😎
My favorite race class
Too bad though Chevrolet discontinued this colour. It's a beautiful deep green tone.
Dave sure knows how to make those hemis run
He built mine in 2013 and is going through it again next week to make it streetable.
And 570 cubic inches doesn't hurt either
@@jimmechanic1965 his opponent had a stroker motor too..must be a Chevy fan
Bro if someone wants to die.... let them shidddd. More power to ya.
Unreal. Thanks for sharing, seriously. I don’t understand why this racing isn’t covered more in full length event videos. Does anyone know of a website or channel that has current info or videos on the F.A.S.T. and Pure Stock racing? Thanks.
Have you heard of the Cars and Zebras, site? It is totally current. He doesn't cover entire events all at once. He features just 2 cars per episode. Best 2 out of 3 races. Each car gets an in depth look at options, original cost vs cost today, rarity, times as tested back in the day, original factory/dealer commercials, weight as tested and a lot more. Each vid is about 10 mins. He is very accurate also. His only problem is that his is totally obsessed with the Fart sound effect. Pretty much anything over 3200 pounds is going to get the fart. Actually, the past 3 videos didn't have any commentary at all. He hasn't said why. Oh yeah, he breaks down the cost of every option on each car and the cost of each option.
@@mrkemblegilstrap Yeah, I’m subscribed to C&Z. I made a similar comment in the comment section on his latest video and someone replied that there are less of these events per year and less cars running than before. What a shame. Thanks for the reply.
@@rong4189 wow, i didn't know that. My guess has to do with stuff like the '71 hemi cuda that sold for 3.5 million dollars the other day? Any thoughts? Speaking of auctions. Did you see where a Replica of the Family truckster sold for 92k? It even had the dog leash tied to the back bumper, lol 😂
@@mrkemblegilstrap - Yeah, C&Z covers matchups from the Factory Stock racing but very little from FAST. As for less and being involved I think the fact the races are very regional hurts them. The pool of racers is pretty limited and I’m guessing some of the racers move on to other things due to boredom, life or whatever.
Horsepower depot RUclips
That would go for the 2ss
That would go for the 2ss

That car is badass

Dude, stop fucking with your hair already.
It's because you look and sound like a long-haired Tom Hanks.
Just test drove one Saturday omg im in love already with that sound 🥵🥵
U have 2 chin... Are u fat?
where is this at ?
lmao watching this was hilarious
Nice man, Iv'e had my 20 2SS 1LE for about 4 months now. Might have to attempt some driving like this.
Might!? You definitely should as this car is built for this and more
Dream car 🥵🥵
How's the ride quality? will it be good for daily driving commutes?
Stock exhaust??
what exhaust do you have?
Goodness! Stock exhaust?
WOW
GT350 sounds better. Also, what did you want me to witness? The sway this car has through a corner?
Voodoo sounds like a crappy Italian car.
You're right - the GT-350's exhaust note is unsurpassed. Conversely, the Voodoo engine will rattle your fillings loose with its inherent vibration. Furthermore, Ford's Mustang build quality is pathetic. That's why I traded mine year after I bought it. Having driven both GT-350 and the 1LE back-to-back, I'll take the 1LE over the Shelby any day.
The Camaro is one of the best handling cars out there. Pretty sure it handles better than the GT500, especially the camaro 1LE setup.
Camaro ZL1 alone smokes the gt350 or the Gt350r now if we include the ZL1 1LE dont question it and you’re one to talk about sway through a corner mr crowd surfer typical mustang fan
Stupid to put any passing vehicle or bicyclist at risk just because you want to be an a**hole. Fantastic car but take it to the track!
Man I say that all the time about these dudes street racing and putting other people lives at risk. Go to the freakin track wit that. It’s another RUclips that’s bad with that too. Fast life Russ. Slow the hell down on regular streets
Literally fuck off.
Everyone else should be on the lookout too, not just the driver. There's a whole culture of driving spiritedly on canyon roads if you didnt know.
@@Gchang54 This car is one of my favorites and I believe in spirited driving, but not at the expense of safety to self and others. I believe spirited driving can still be accomplished without being reckless.
gotta be angeles forest hwy which also connects to Angeles crest hwy
Yous guys are jagg offs for running that 4runner off the road.
the 4runner pulled off to the side to let them pass.... they didn't run it off the road. You can see the corvette drive wave to the 4runner saying 'thank you'
Patrick Jurkiewicz nope 4Runner was at least going 30 mph when going off road in short notice
No way that sound is stock - sounds unreal
He has a microphone next to the exhaust tip. Its a good trick to get your car to sound better than it does in real life.
@@JacesOwnWorld actually a camaro sounds better in real life...I've never heard a camaro sound like that one
I have this car, 6 speed also but mine is a 17'. I'm pretty sure that exhaust is stock. Sounds like mine in Sport mode.
matrox wicked - makes good case not to put money on Corsa or Borla !
Impressive handling. He didn't do anything stupid.
Driving over a 100 mph on a public road isn't stupid
Patrick B he drove like an asshole. One minor mistake wether it’s mechanical or drivers error, and there’s going to be an accident. This guys just need to tone it down on public road and just go to a track.
