  • On this day, I attempted to ride 100 miles on my Specialized Turbo Creo SL E-bike. It has a 1.1, Costom lightweight motor, power by a 320Wh integrated SL battery, I also had an additional 160Wh Range Extender battery for this adventure. Come along and watch the ride to see if I achieved this goal. You'll be surprised of the outcome!

    Great video! I have the aluminum version of this bike. My top tube readout is blue bars not digital. I recently did an 80 mile ride and finished with about the same amount of battery as you have left, but I probably used turbo in sport more than you did. I think these bikes are awesome! :-)

    I think you’d have comfortably down the tonne without the range extender by that measure just by running 50% Eco and 50 % Sport. Turbo seem to drain more substantially (which I guess you’d expect). Wish they have that TCU 2.0 across the range.

    I think your to fit for the average e-biker lol, with your average of over 16mph you couldn’t have been using the motor for to much of your ride. I’m nearly 60 and not to fit and I’m guessing I could get about 60/70 miles on my Orbea Gain without a range extender, great video though 👍

    • @electricbikerider
      @electricbikerider  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Sean, E-bikes are awesome but I didn’t need an E-bike I wanted one, because they are so much fun. Yes I do ride above the 16 mph restriction so I’m actually working harder than somebody riding a regular road bike. So my only advantage with my Creo is the hills, and as I live in Devon and the terrain is on average 1000ft per 10 miles it’s the perfect bike for me, as I can now ride more miles in less time, so it’s a win win situation. I also believe you could easily achieve 60/70 miles on your Orbea and even more as you get fitter. Many thanks for watching and happy riding. ⚡️🚴🏻👍🏻

    Hi HarvE 🤗 Nice video 🥰 Wow! amazing result!! I think I would have had around 40% left in my 100 mile experiment if I didn't have those headwinds to battle on the last 50 miles - as it was I had 21% left at the end. I used smart mode which gave me 30% assist for the first 50 miles and then it re-callibrated and gave me 50% and then at last 25 miles my phone ran out of juice and my power bank was not cooperating so went into turbo and have mine set at 100% like you!LOL I will do another test soon for sure.

I have also done another ride to test the Creo and its battery, with similar mileage but with 8000ft of climbing it was epic, that adventure will be uploaded for next to view. @@electricbikerider I just realized that we have different restrictions on our e-bikes here in Canada. I think you have a restriction where the motor cuts out if you go over 15.5 mph. In Canada it's higher at about 20mph so I'm usually pedaling at an average speed of 18-19mph. If I can get a good tailwind and a nice flat section I can totally keep above 22 mph but not for more than 20 minutes or so. I'm going to try this again in more favourable conditions and see what happens.

      I’m in NZ, and the Creo 2 is classed as an on-road bike here so my assist tops out at 28mph/45kmh. I definitely have no complaints speed wise. I’d be ok with 15 on an MTB; I’d only use the motor on it for self-shuttling really. I guess it depends on what you’re after from the bike.

    Was the motor actually engaged all the time, or did you have periods when you were riding above the cut off level of 25km per hour? If a reasonable amount of time was spent above that speed, then this would exaggerate the claimed range would it not?

      Hi Vince, the motor was working most of the time, apart from the descents of course, where I like to go flat out. Hi. I have problem with hearth aortha. I can't go more than 146bpm (I can, but can cause dissection in worst scenario, so doctor gave me the limit 80% HR). Can you imagine, that you will be able to stay under 146bpm on this bike? Or your HR will overflow uphills? I know it depends on rider wheigth and so on... I am not able to find any videos focusing this problematic.

    • @electricbikerider
      @electricbikerider  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Vacaville, sorry to hear about your situation. Obviously I can’t comment on your health issues, but I can certainly try and assist with your concerns. I have done a lot of mountain biking and a friend of mine had a similar issue to you. He would sometimes blackout/faint when out riding. It was because of his hr going dangerously through the roof, and doctors told him to give up the sport he loved. But instead he got himself a E-mtb to take the stain, and although on occasions he still got light headed, the E -bike did help and he’s is still riding today. As for the Creo that I’m riding, you can lower your hr when climbing with the help of the full assistance (turbo) it will still ride and feel the same on the flats as a regular bike and you will still be pushing the same watts etc so you can still get a workout. I wish you all the best and many thanks for watching and take care. ⚡️🚴🏻‍♂️👍🏼

    • @kevinbleakley5069

      I'd probably recommend you getting a full (heavy) high-powered e-bike. The Creos are more like good assistance than insane torque and power to get you up hills. The trade-off you you will be a heavier bike, that's all.

      Hi Shivraj, the Creo is a fantastic bike and I know you are going to love it. It’s not a free ride which most people think, I’m still burning the same calories and pushing the same watts etc but as I live in a very hilly area of the UK it really does make for a enjoyable ride. My average speed is 18mph on the flat which is lower than my regular bike because of the extra weight and the top speed for the Creo on a nice decent was 54mph. Many thanks for watching and happy riding ⚡️🚴🏻‍♂️👍🏼

      Hi Trey, just using the bikes battery and you keep the motor in eco mode I think you should be able to do 90+ miles but may vary a little depending on how hilly the area you are riding. Don’t worry about range anxiety and purchasing a range extender as the bike is brilliant and will do you for most if not all of your rides, just get it later if you need it.
